Chapter 3: the god of creation system

Because of Koko's kick, I crashed down to the ground, right in the middle of thousands of creatures locked in combat. This wasn't just a simple skirmish—it was a full-scale war.

I was surprised to find that after falling from a height of nearly a hundred meters, I was still alive, and shockingly, I wasn't even hurt.

"Wait, seriously? I'm actually alive. That's amazing," I muttered.

I noticed a crack forming on the crystal of my armor, but I didn't have time to dwell on it. My fall had drawn the attention of the surrounding crowd, and now everyone was staring right at me.

"Huh? Ah... Um... Don't mind me, just go back to what you were doing," I said nervously.

Suddenly, a few of them let out a war cry and charged straight at me, prompting me to immediately turn and run.

"Wait! Hey! I'm not part of your war!" I shouted.

They ignored my pleas and continued chasing me. I had no idea why they seemed so furious with me—or perhaps they simply couldn't understand a word I was saying.

"Why are you attacking me? Hey!"

Thanks to the enhanced power of my armor, I was able to move swiftly and dodge their attacks.

"This is amazing, I feel almost weightless."

I kept running until a fireball slammed down right near me. The impact was massive, almost sending me flying through the air.

"Ahh!!"

The intensity of the explosion incinerated several monsters and warriors alike, but I was fortunate that my armor enveloped me, shielding me from the flames.

"Am I still alive? I'm actually still alive." I let out a sigh of relief for surviving the blast, only to notice that the crack on my armor was growing larger.

Moments later, I stood up and saw countless lifeless bodies scattered all around me. In the distance, the brutal war raged on.

"What is going on? Wait, I don't like what I'm seeing," I whispered, staring at the dead bodies before me.

As I stood there, terrified and deeply unsettled, Koko—who had suddenly appeared right behind me—answered my remark.

"What do you mean you don't like it? You are the one who set these events in motion, and you are the reason these creatures in this world are dying."

I turned to face her and vehemently denied her claims. I refused to accept the blame for a battle that was claiming so many lives.

"I didn't cause this! Endoryo is just a work of fiction!"

"That's what you think, but in reality, it has become real, and the world you see right now is facing war and destruction," Koko said, smiling at me with an eerie, malicious look.

She slowly stepped closer and warned me of the planet's impending doom.

"This world is destined to be destroyed one year from now due to the clashes between races brought on by the Dark Lord."

"Wrong. The destruction that will take place isn't the fault of the dark forces, because it was already decreed by their god," she added, pointing right at me.

"Huh? Wait, I still don't understand what you're trying to get at. If this world is going to be destroyed in a year, how on earth am I supposed to stop it if you aren't going to give me any power?" I asked.

She furrowed her brow, visibly annoyed by my complaint.

"Ha! You're far too demanding. You can't even accomplish the task I gave you—defeating Halloween."

Nevertheless, I insisted that I couldn't possibly do what she wanted, especially since I had no idea how to fight.

"You expect me to pull off the impossible, or maybe you just want to see me fail this mission and die along with this world."

Koko let out a heavy sigh, deep in thought. "Fine, fine. Since you're being so difficult, I'll grant you power, just like you wanted."

"Really?"

"Yes, but you have to prove yourself to me first."

Her hand began to glow, wrapped in a sacred light. Without a moment's hesitation, she thrust it straight into my chest.

A sudden, intense heat coursed through my body, and a moment later, a holographic display materialized around me.

"The God Creation System has been successfully activated. Host Nathaniel,, may now begin utilization."

I was startled by the voice echoing inside my head. I couldn't believe what I was experiencing.

"Wait, what is happening?"

"Aren't you familiar with anime and web novels featuring power systems?" Koko remarked.

She explained that since I wanted power, she was granting me a potent power system known as the God of Creation System.

"Since you're the one who created this world using your comic, this power suits you perfectly," she added.

According to her, the God of Creation System could generate anything out of thin air, depending on what was available within the system. However, she cautioned me that the system could only be operated using Gratitude Points.

"Gratitude points come from people who feel gratitude or even love toward you."

As long as there were people who thanked me or loved me, I would earn gratitude points from them.

I shook my head in disbelief upon hearing this, realizing that the conditions attached to this power were terrible.

"Are you saying this will only work if someone thanks me and loves me? Isn't that condition absolute nonsense?" I complained.

"Tch, you know, you're the one being given a favor, yet you're the one complaining the loudest. Remember, you aren't in this world just to be overpowered. Put in some actual effort to save this world," she scolded.

I sighed deeply, trying to process her words. Honestly, I wouldn't even have to deal with this if she had given me a proper, hassle-free power to begin with.

While we were talking, massive fireballs suddenly rained down upon us.

"Wait, Halloween is attacking again!"

"So many fireballs—do something!" I shouted in sheer terror.

When I turned to look, Koko was already gone, leaving behind a parting reminder as she bid me farewell.

"Oh... Just like I said earlier, if you fail to defeat Halloween, I'm taking back that armor and sword!" she called out.

" Huh? Hey ! dont leave me. "

I immediately broke into a sprint to dodge the fireballs crashing down onto the ground.

"You're out of your mind! How am I supposed to block things like that?!"

" No! No!! No!!! Please save me first! "

I was nearly blown away by the shockwave of a colossal fireball hitting the earth, leaving massive destruction in its wake.

Boom!

Halloween's attack nearly pulverized and scorched everything in sight, including his own minions.

The surrounding area was choked with thick smoke, accompanied by raging flames.

A few moments later, I managed to pull myself out from where I had been buried in the debris. "Damn it, I'm just glad I'm still alive."

I immediately noticed that the crystal on my armor was shattering, and I panicked, fearing it would break and leave me defenseless. "Why is it about to break already? This is dangerous!"

I could no longer find the sword I was holding earlier. I strongly suspected I dropped it when I was caught in the explosion.

I knew my situation would only get worse if I stayed in this place. I didn't actually know how to fight, so I had no idea if holding weapons would even make a difference. I forced myself up from the ground and started running.

"Damn that angel, she didn't even think to help me! What's the point of the power system she gave me if I can't even use it?!"

As I was running, a gigantic figure suddenly dropped right in front of me, startling me out of my wits.

I froze, my jaw dropping in absolute horror as I stared at the entity blocking my path.

"No way... impossible."

" No, this is really bad. "

Standing right before me was a towering skeletal monster enveloped in dark energy—one of the strongest Dark Lords destined to destroy the towns.

"The Dark Lord, Halloween."

My knees trembled with fear as I watched him gaze down at me, as if sizing me up.

He slowly raised his right hand, gathering a ball of dark energy, clearly intending to unleash it on me. I knew my armor wouldn't be able to withstand his attack.

Paralyzed by terror, my legs gave out and I tripped before I could even take a step back.

"My legs won't listen to me. What do I do? Am I going to die here?" I cried out.

"This can't be happening. This sucks!"

A second later, Halloween unleashed a devastating wave of dark energy that dissolved my entire body in a massive explosion.

The attack practically obliterated the landscape, leaving a crater nearly twenty meters deep.

When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a pitch-black place. It was cold and utterly silent.

"Wait, where am I? Am I dead?"

"Hahaha, don't worry, you can't die just yet," Koko's voice chimed in.

I was startled as her voice echoed all around, but no matter where I looked, I couldn't see her anywhere.

"Wait, what are you planning this time? Where am I?" I demanded.

"You lost our bet and failed the trial. As an angel, I grant blessings for every good deed you do, but you can't expect anything from me when you fail my trials," she stated.

She explained that, as agreed, she was taking back the weapon she had given me, and I would have to start from scratch—as an ordinary human in the world of Endoryo.

"All you have to do is simple: prevent the destruction of Endoryo that is set to happen next year."

"I want you to understand and listen to every single creature in the world that you yourself created," she added.

" Seriously? " I asked

" Yep, seriously. " She answered.

A moment later, the surroundings gradually flooded with a blinding light, forcing me to tightly shut my eyes...

"Good luck, Nathaniel. Your adventure as a god is about to begin."
