"Father, please believe me, I didn't do it," A loud, hoarse male voice screamed, tears flowing down like a stream.Thunder rumbled in the sky and the downpour intensified, as though to silence the yells and pleas of the young man.

Before the young man stood three figures. A middle-aged man sharing a striking resemblance to the young man drenched in rain, kneeling and shedding tears, even though the tears were not noticeable as they had been mixed with the rain.

Beside the man was a woman and a young man. More precisely, the young man's half-brother.

Men dressed in black stood behind them, raising umbrellas against their heads, preventing the rain from drenching them.

"Russell, tell me the truth, did you sell out the company's secret?" The middle-aged man, Jacob, broke the silence, his cold voice cutting through the rain, his gaze cold as he looked down at the young man.

"Father...." The young man, Russell sobbed, head down, not even daring to catch his father's gaze.

"Please believe me father, I really didn't do such a thing, I would never dare to...." Russell cried, his tears mixing with the heavy downpour which seemed determined to silence him.

"Do you mean to tell me your brother framed you?" He roared, chest heaving, pointing at Russell.

"I...." Russell stuttered, but fumbled to find any words.

No matter what he said, his father would never believe him.

His mother died in an accident before he was ten and his father had remarried right after.

Since then, his life has been hell. He became a servant in the house. His room was taken by his half-brother his stepmother brought.

Then he was cast to the storage room. His clothes were all taken away and he could only wear what his half-brother didn't want anymore.

Leftovers were what he survived on. He was never allowed near the dining table and could only survive on scraps.

But strangely, his father seemed to turn a blind eye to all of these and even punished him based on what the other party said.

His university spot was taken away recently by his half-brother as he was forced to give up the spot.

His fiancee scorned him and chose his half-brother. Everything he owned was taken away.

He barely made ends meet by collecting scraps, and even at that, he was still beaten and humiliated for the slightest of things.

And then today, his half-brother had framed him for selling the company's secret and even showed his father some evidence which led to this.

But then to begin with, the Company was Russell's mother's life work before she died, so there was no way he was going to sell out the company's secret.

Besides, he had over thirty percent shares in the company. Though the shares weren't officially in his name, he needed to come of age before he would be able to get access to it. So there was no reason for him to do that.

"Russell," Jacob's cold voice cut through the air, jolting Russell back to his senses.

"Father...."

"I'm not your father," Jacob spat coldly, his voice cutting off Russell who froze, eyes almost bulging out of their sockets.

"But....."

"I have no son like you," Jacob continued, his gaze cold; at the same time, Russell felt as though a countless number of daggers had been stabbed into his heart.

"From today, you'll no longer bear the Miller family name and I hereby formally cut all ties with you," Jacob added, at the same time he nodded to the guards, who stepped forward, grabbed Russell, then pricked his palms before pressing them against a document.

"From now on, you have nothing to do with the Miller Family and neither with me," Jacob declared, voice cold as he turned around.

At the same time, thunder rumbled, seemingly sealing Jacob's words, at the same time the rain increased.

Without another word, Jacob walked back towards the villa, leaving Russell who seemed rather blank at the moment.

"Break his limbs and throw him out," Russell's stepmother ordered, a sinister smile etched on her face as she turned around.

As for Russell's half-brother, a ruthless smile flashed across his face as he made a slashing gesture against his throat at the bodyguards before walking away.

Without hesitation, the guards grabbed Russell who was already blank and dragged him out of the villa.

Before long, screams of pain came, but were soon drowned by the downpour; after a while, everywhere finally went silent.

On the other side, dumped in the trash was Russell. Body covered in blood, but it was being washed away by the rain.

At the moment, his life force slipped away slowly; tears fell slowly as resentment built in his heart.

He finally understood. His father never cared; all he cared about was the shares, and now, he had used this chance to get rid of him.

Also, this meant his mother's death wasn't just an accident; as she had died in an accident, he was sure his father and his mistress had a hand in it.

But what was the use of thinking about all of these now? His life force was dripping out and in no time, he would be chilling with Hades.

The more he thought about this, the angrier he got. He wouldn't be able to take revenge for his mother's poor soul and her company would fall into the hands of those who had betrayed her.

Tears flowed down his face as his hatred grew. If only the Heavens could give him another chance.

But was there really a second chance? He could only endure the pain as his life slowly slipped away from his grasp.

"Ding!"

"Maximum Rage Detected!"

"Host Chosen!"

"Warning, Host's life force is almost depleted."

"Activating Recovery mode."

A mechanical voice sounded in Russell's ears and before he could understand what was happening, the pain and numbness in his body were suddenly amplified, and without the strength to scream or endure, he lost consciousness.

Russell didn’t look back after Bruce’s convoy disappeared into the distance. He couldn't care less if the old man believed him. It was his luck to have met him, and since he did not believe him, then that was also his luck.Across the road, standing tall and majestic under the afternoon sun, were the Twin Towers. Two identical skyscrapers pierced into the sky, their glass exteriors reflecting the bustling city. Many companies who could have their own building were stationed right inside the building, all because it represented status and power.Russell narrowed his eyes slightly. This was his next destination.Without hesitation, he crossed the road and walked straight toward the entrance. The doors spun lazily as executives in suits walked in and out. The atmosphere here was entirely different from the chaotic riverbank. Each executive belonged to a different company within the building, but none cared.Just as Russell stepped onto the staircase leading to the entrance, two guards bl

"Huh!"The crowd froze, hearing this, as they couldn't believe their ears.Fifteen million for saving a boy? If they knew this, they would have jumped into the river earlier without any hesitation. After all, in the entire city, only a few families would be able to pull out such a large amount of money."I'm sorry, old man, but that goes against my principles," Russell's voice came, pulling everyone out of their thoughts. But at the moment, Russell’s voice sounded like a clap of lightning to their ears, and they couldn't help but glance at him rather incredulously. What the heck was the young man thinking? Rejecting fifteen million? If it were not for the guards present, they wanted to rush forward and beat the heck out of him. How dare he reject such an amount?Didn't he know who he was talking to? That was fifteen million. The old man also frowned slightly, observing Russell, who had a gentle smile."I...""If you're thinking about adding to the amount, then you should just discard

A loud yell came, pulling Russell back to his senses as he walked down the street away from the building."Someone please help, or he would drown!" The voice yelled again, and Russell turned in the direction of the voice. At the other side of the road, a crowd was gathered, pointing and watching something.A young woman stood at the center of the crowd, yelling, asking if there was anyone who knew how to swim.Seeing this, Russell frowned slightly and moved closer to the crowd. Getting there, he froze at the sight before him.Just right beneath was a flowing river. Splashes were seen; a small figure struggled to swim but to no avail. Employees whispered among themselves, their gazes flickering between Russell and Jacob. At the moment, Jacob's face was as dark as coal, his gaze landing on Russell."Russell," Jacob called, his voice cold and low."What exactly do you think you’re doing?"
