Chapter 12 : Who was she?

Anna took the phone away from her ear, startled by the screaming voice on the other end.

"You left without saying anything," the voice exclaimed. "This is really unacceptable. You have to come back and oversee things here."

Confused murmurs arose among the gathered people, wondering why Anna had made that call. The manager, meanwhile, struggled to recall where he had heard that voice before. It felt so familiar, yet he couldn't quite place it.

Anna interrupted the voice abruptly, saying, "Will you just shut up? I'm tired and hungry. We can discuss that later."

"Please come back and continue with things over here, okay?" the voice pleaded.

"That will have to wait," Anna replied firmly. "I called you for a more pressing matter."

"Tell me about it," the voice responded, its tone shifting from complaining to serious.

"I'd like to ask about the new Sharon's collection that was released last month. It's supposed to have only two dresses, right?" Anna inquired.
