BLACK

Outside the moon was hidden by the early morning clouds, it shone faintly through the window blinds, forging the perfect mirror image of the woman lying asleep as a Shadow on the wall.

The fan in the room rotated slowly, Carmela lay on the sofa heaving heavily, she appeared to be in a deep sleep as Black stared at her closed eyes that had not fluttered all those while.

For Black earth was the closest thing to home, he stood in front of the bathroom mirror. ACouldn'tsee his human body but instead, the animalistic body he used in the underworld stared back at him.

Something bitter twisted in his stomach as it rumbled, he bent over what looked to him as a white vessel and threw up the darkish content of his bowel.

He appeared weak after vomiting, the time he had spent in the mortal realm was having a toll on him and

tried to figure out why it bothered me so much.

He knew he was running out of time and his human body was running out of time, he had to find a soul to feed on or his human body would keep on getting weakened till he could devour another soul.

The thought of the woman still asleep on the sofa

made his throat tighten with an unexplainable feeling. He wanted to be there when she opened her eyes. He stared at her through the mirror and could see she was still curled on the sofa.

Black couldn’t hold on to resentment or anxiety of what he may

have to do in the future, he wanted this place and his father's throne to himself, he wanted all souls to sing his praises and exalt him, he wanted to live his life like that, be Prince over the mortals and immortals. He would take it one day at a time and let the inevitable work its way out when it did.

He knew it meant the destruction of One world as the two would be merged into one. It had been planned all those long while. To get his ass into the realm of the mortals and forge his path away from his father and brother.

Black was sure his brother was on his way back to earth, he was certain his father had discovered he was missing and had sent his brother back most probably to get him. He had a plan specifically for that, he will make it hard for Azrael to find him "Prince of Darkness" or not.

The woman coughed from the room drawing his attention away from his thoughts, she fluttered her eyes before opening them. She sat up quickly when she saw a face peering down at her.

"Who are you ?" She asked.

"Where am I?" She glanced around and could recognize the sofa, the familiar scent of her apartment.

"How the hell did she get to her apartment when a while ago she was ..."

"I remember you !" Carmela said. "I saw you at the pub ."

"You are right ... " Black thought of a more appropriate word to call her instead of 'Mortal'.

"Then I walked out and those men tried to rape me." She paused. "You rescued me, oh good gracious! You saved me from those men." She embraced him.

"How did you know where I stayed.? " Carmela asked.

"You whispered it subconsciously when I picked you up, you looked dead as at then," Black whispered. "I guess this is your abode?"

"My abode ?" Carmela stared at the man standing in her front and studied him slowly for the first time since she opened her eyes.

Though it seemed weird and outdated that he called a house an abode, she wouldn't deny he had amazing physical features.

He was insanely beautiful beyond any human imagination, she couldn't find the right words to qualify his beauty and felt that to say handsome would undermine him.

However, it was his eyes that drew more attention. His deep blue eyes were as if it was staring right past her body into her soul.

"You have something trailing down your nose." She said calmly to him, raising a finger to her nose to signify what she was trying to say.

Black took his hands toward his nose, he could feel something moist.

"Do you need to see a doctor or something?" Carmela looked worried asking. "I hope those jackassed men didn't hit you hard on your face ."

"No, I am fine," Black assured her while walking toward his dark jacket and hat hanging at the door.

"Where are you going, it is still quite early," Carmella called out at him.

"What Is your name?!" Carmela asked, almost screaming her head out.

He stopped with his back to her, his shoulders tensing.

“Hey?"

A few seconds passed, and then Carmela thought he might not respond.

"Black" he muttered as he walked out and shut the door behind him.

Carmela stared blankly at the door until the numbness in her turned into an emotion she couldn't quite recognize at that moment.

"BLACK" she whispered the name into the still-dark room

Black walked briskly, she was right the street was empty early that morning. He coughed again and this time more dark liquid oozed out of his mouth to the floor.

A cop flashed a light from the distance and moved closer to the figure that went bent on his knees to the ground.

"Are you alright?" The cop asked a bit cautiously.

"Are you alright, Sire?" He asked again, taking slow steps toward him.

"Hello?" The cop tapped him from behind.

Black held the cop's hands as he turned his head to face him without moving an inch. The cop looked at Black's hideous face in fright. His eyes blinked as Black absorbed his energy and soul into himself.

He dropped the man that had become nothing but a skin of dry bone on the floor when he was done and walked away from him quickly without looking back.

"BLACK!" A voice called from behind.

He turned as he heard his name echo from a far distance.

Azrael was not too far away.

He needs to hide away from his brother. Azrael is relentless and it wouldn't take that much time before he is caught by that brother of his. One thing is sure, and that is the fact that he would not leave the mortal world unless he was able to fulfill all that he had planned.

Azreal might not be the ambitious brother, but he is different. He is different from his father and brother.

Whatever he wants, he would strive to get it. Since there's nothing left for him to do in the immortal world, he would make himself useful in the mortal world. He plans to become the ruler of the mortal world and he would achieve his plans.

  • Please Stay

I stood dumbstruck at what I saw. Ever since I worked as an agent pursuing this case, I've never seen anyone who actually commanded beasts. I began to wonder if he was the faceless Saviour everyone was talking about. But for some reason, this faceless Saviour looked nothing like the one I saw on the news. He had this dangerous and unnatural aura, just like what I'd perceived that night. He commanded the monsters and that's exactly what caught my attention. How on earth was he able to do that?"Hey, August!" I blinked but didn't turn around to answer Fox because of what I saw. I was still very much in shock."Where are the monsters? We heard their voices just some minutes ago?" He asked. I turned around to face my partners, who looked around in a confused state."There are no monsters anymore.""Huh? How's that possible? We clearly heard the growls of these monsters. Have they, perhaps, escaped?" Jed asked while staring at me, desperate for answers.I lifted my gun up to them."See? I

  • Take Me To Your Master

I woke up instantly at the sudden burn I felt. "Black!" He must be close by and probably causing a ruckus due to the sudden burn I felt. This was it. I've been trying to find him all this while. Who would have thought that I'd find him soon? I quickly left my bed and dashed out of the house. I stared at the car which I had bought and shook my head. There was no need to take a car when I needed to find someone like Black. I quickly made myself invisible and teleported to the police where I sensed him. I was baffled beyond measure when I found myself in front of a huge shopping mall which had been destroyed. This was indeed the work of Black. I could see the immortal blue flame which he used in causing the destruction. What a pity, so this was all the ruling he wanted. I laid my eyes on the mortals who had no souls and shut my eyes. Black has indeed caused more than enough damage in the human world. I need to take him away as soon as possible before the whole of humanity perishes i

  • You Must Save Everyone

After having a long day at work, I decided to head grocery shopping. I found out Jed was actually talking about the weekend. It was easy for someone like me to forget if there are weekends or not. That's because I don't have much to do at the weekends. After getting groceries from the shop, I quickly headed back home. I made myself some steak and a bottle of wine to calm my nerves. Just then, I perceived something unnatural around me. This was new. I've never once perceived such a powerful presence before. I walked over to the window where the scent was imminent but found no one around. It can't be that the monster had found me. I quickly took out my pistol. I had no idea if a pistol would work on him, because if a gun worked on him, those agents wouldn't be reported dead. I'm sure they had no chance against the monster. "I slowly walked over to my door and opened it, but found no one out there. I sniffled the air, and the scent was gone. I wondered if I was the one who must have p

  • Where Are Your Things?

I have been in the wilderness of nothingness for centuries and I had no idea what was happening beyond the wilderness. I'm also ignorant about the havoc Black must have caused in the mortal world. Knowing what Black was capable of, I'm sure he must have caused unrest in the mortal world. I wished father would realize what had been happening and sent for me. It's been centuries. It can't be that Black had succeeded in taking over the immortal realm and holding our father captive just as he claimed he would. This was because father would have sent for me if he had found out what Black was up to. Just as I was thinking of the possibility of what might have happened in the immortal realm, the fog covering the wilderness suddenly cleared up. "Azreal, my son!" I immediately kneeled, throwing my face to the ground in a bow of respect. "Yes father," I replied with great delight. "I have neglected you for so long, and today, I've come to tell you that I've seen who the real sinner was

  • The Monster And The Faceless Saviour

I quickly dashed to the other side of the street, and what I saw, immediately sent me thumbling backwards, frighteningly. I quickly found another dark area to hide away from the street lights. The person screaming was a lady, and something like a monster stood in front of her. I saw a dark fog like that of an evil flame, which possesses people. He grabbed her by the neck and pulled her up in the air, so her legs weren't touching the ground anymore. He seemed to be strangling her while she gasped for air. Cold shivers ran down my spine as I watched the heart-wrenching scene in front of me. I should be helping this lady, but here I am shrieking with fear. What will become of me if I go out? I'm sure whatever it was might also strangle me to death. But I just can't watch it take another soul right in front of me. It would be cowardly of me to watch that happen."L..let the woman go," I said in a low tone. I held the metal bar in my hand strongly, just in case it came for me. The m

  • Waiting In The Wrong Street

I quickly walked to class, only to find a rowdy class with everyone talking here and there. This was strange, no matter what happened, the students never got that rowdy and noisy before. "August, you're here," Jedai said, running towards me."What's going on, Jed, why is there so much unrest in school today?""I guess you haven't heard about what happened then?""Huh? W...what happened?" I asked, almost in panic. Juedai breathed a huge sigh and quickly pulled me out of the class to a quiet corner. "It is said that Mr Stone is dead.""What?! Y...you mean the principal?""Exactly!" Jedai answered in a whisper. "His death seemed to be mysterious and weird," Jedai added. "Could you please elaborate on this?""Well, according to the school authorities, the principal stayed up late at night, going through our exam sheets since the exams were coming near, but then, he didn't go back home until midnight. The security guard went to his office to ask if he was going to stay the night but
