Before The Almighty Draxson

Moments later, the two fighter jets landed at Sparrow Air Force Base, home to numerous fighter jets and other terrifying military aircrafts.

The soldiers, the two high commanders, Rowan, and the group of soldiers holding Hawthorne stepped down under the soft midnight wind.

General Ferdinand Harrison turned toward the soldiers dragging Hawthorne and said authoritatively,

“You already know where he should be taken. I don't have to repeat myself.”

The soldiers nodded and replied in unison.

“Of course, General.”

Rowan looked at Hawthorne with a mocking smile, his hands tucked into his pockets as he walked like a king through his kingdom.

Meanwhile, Hawthorne remained calm and unbroken as he observed everyone around him, wondering how his meeting with Master Draxson would unfold.

Though I'm always prepared, he thought confidently.

Rowan continued smiling venomously, but deep down, he was still unsettled by Hawthorne's calm smile. However, his greatest hope remained the same—he believed that if anyone could finally break Hawthorne, it would be the almighty Master Draxson.

General Ferdinand Harrison, General Jean Morris, and several soldiers had already entered their military tactical vehicles waiting at the air force base and soon drove away in a perfect convoy.

Hawthorne followed behind, escorted by soldiers while his betrayer, Rowan, watched him with deep excitement and satisfaction shining in his eyes.

One of the soldiers suddenly shouted at Hawthorne.

“Don't test my patience!”

“Walk faster!”

Hawthorne remained unshaken.

Although he was already walking quickly, they still tried to humiliate him for no reason. He understood exactly what they were doing.

Soon, they all entered a waiting tactical van and drove away.

Rowan, sitting beside Hawthorne, leaned closer and whispered,

“You'll surely regret your miserable life.”

Hawthorne didn't respond.

Instead, a painful thought crossed his mind.

What wrong did I ever do to him to deserve this level of betrayal? After everything I did for him from childhood... I never believed a day like this would ever come.

Although deeply broken inside, he remained calm and composed on the surface.

The convoy drove through the quiet roads of Varros City, one of the largest cities and the military heart of Esturis.

It was also the powerful residence of the almighty Master Draxson.

Minutes later, the vehicles entered Molina District, a heavily guarded military residential and command zone within the city.

Soon, the gigantic Draxson Villa came into view.

Surrounded by luxurious estates and heavily guarded compounds, it resembled an empire that screamed power and authority.

The tactical vehicle came to a stop.

Everyone stepped out.

Minutes later, they were already inside the villa.

Finally, Hawthorne found himself standing before Master Draxson.

Rowan and the soldiers bowed respectfully and said in unison.

“Perfectly delivered, Master.”

Master Draxson sitting upon a massive throne.

His appearance alone was intimidating.

He looked almost like a giant.

His face was scarred, his beard thick, and his long hair rested on his shoulders.

He wore a luxurious military uniform decorated with the flags of numerous nations and countless high-ranking insignias.

Gold patterns were woven across the black fabric, while a golden medal bearing the head of a dragon rested proudly on his chest.

On his feet were mighty military boots that seemed capable of crushing stone.

Despite the terrifying presence before him, Hawthorne stood boldly and unshaken with his hands cuffed.

His expression remained calm and composed.

Even Rowan and the soldiers felt pressure at the mere sight of Master Draxson.

Some nearly shivered.

Yet Hawthorne remained unmoved.

His courage unsettled everyone present.

Even Master Draxson himself was surprised.

No one had ever stood before him with such boldness and refused to show fear.

For the first time in years, he encountered someone who met his gaze directly without trembling.

This man is impressive, Draxson thought. Stubborn and fearless. But today, I will teach him why I'm called the Almighty.

Hawthorne continued staring directly into his eyes without fear.

The act alone unsettled Master Draxson further.

Calmly, the intimidating looking man rose from his powerful throne.

His towering height became even more imposing.

Then he spoke in a terrifying deep voice.

“Today, you must be humbled.”

“You think you're bold and brave enough?”

Then—

He began walking toward Hawthorne.

Each step of his mighty boots struck the ground with authority.

The moment Rowan raised his hand, his face turned red with rage. His chest rose and fell heavily as he stared at Hawthorne, and for several seconds, he looked as though he was about to charge straight at him. The humiliation in Hawthorne’s words had struck a nerve, especially because the soldiers around them had heard almost everything. Rowan clenched his fists and took a step forward, his anger almost impossible to control.“Enough!” Rowan roared. “How dare you speak to me like that? You still think you can come here and challenge me?”He was about to move again when Irene quietly grabbed his arm and pulled him back. “Don’t bother yourself, darling,” she said coldly. “Let me do exactly what I’m capable of doing.”Rowan stopped and looked at her. His breathing was still heavy, but he eventually allowed himself to step back. “Irene…”“Leave him to me,” she interrupted. “I cannot stand here and watch him insult you.”Rowan remained silent, his eyes burning with fury as Irene turned awa

  • The Confrontation Begins V

“Irene…” Hawthorne called again, his voice low and painfully controlled. He stared at her for several seconds before finally speaking. “Despite everything I’ve done for you? You betrayed me like I never existed. I elevated your boutique business from scratch. I took care of you, I brought you out from the trenches, and you decided to repay me like this just because of the poor orphan that had nothing when I was the one bringing him up and finally made him who he is today?”His voice remained calm, but every word carried the weight of years of sacrifice. “Both of the very people who are closest to me are now standing in front of me like a couple. Do you know how painful this is? This pain cuts deeper than any wound. It is unbearable. This is what shows the wicked nature of mankind.”Hawthorne shifted his eyes toward Rowan. “Rowan, you are a typical example. Despite everything I’ve done for you, despite the fact that you were an orphan I rescued from assassins, you decided to take every

Hawthorne’s question remained hanging in the tense passage, but Irene did not answer immediately. She sighed deeply, almost as though his words had become an exhausting burden, then slowly turned her cold eyes toward him. “What will you even do if I tell you?” she asked. “Are you asking because you think you will do something? At the end of the day, what exactly will you do?” Hawthorne’s face remained still, but his heart tightened painfully. Irene gave a faint, mocking smile. “Anyway, I will tell you because I know you won’t do anything. Why should I hide it from you? I’m supposed to tell you what made me proud of my beloved darling.” She tightened her fingers around Rowan’s hand. “The motive is simple. I’m in love with him because I truly love him. He is more handsome than you, and he even has enough money to take care of me. In fact, I’m emotionally attached to him. There is no person who can separate us. Not even worthless and useless man like you.” Hawthorne’s chest rose s

  • The Confrontation Begins lll

Hawthorne’s voice was heavy, but his posture remained firm as he took another step toward Rowan. The question had barely left his lips when a violent tire screech suddenly tore through the air outside the passage. Everyone turned toward the entrance at once, and the soldiers instinctively tightened their grips on their weapons. A sleek black Mercedes G-Wagon came to a sharp stop outside the military entrance. The doors remained closed for a few seconds before the driver’s door opened, and Irene stepped out with calm majesty. She adjusted her clothes, shut the door, and walked toward the entrance with an air of confidence that made the soldiers immediately clear a path for her. Minutes later, Irene was already inside the passage. Hawthorne’s eyes locked onto her, and for one brief moment, everything around him seemed to disappear. • The Confrontation Begins II

The soldiers paved a way as Rowan approached, and the entire passage seemed to change with his arrival. He did not hurry, nor did he need to. The military personnel opened a clear path for him as he walked through them with the confidence of a man who believed his authority was beyond question. His polished shoes struck the tiled floor with steady clicks, while his expensive military regalia looked even richer and more luxurious than the uniform Hawthorne himself had worn when he held the same position. When Rowan finally stopped, he stood face to face with Hawthorne. His eyes carried a poisonous, mocking look as he stared directly into Hawthorne's eyes, but Hawthorne remained completely unshaken. He stared back without blinking. As he studied Rowan, he noticed how much the man had changed. Rowan looked wealthier and fresher than before, and his body had become broader and more built, though he still carried a moderate frame rather than an enormous one. His sleek hair was careful
