The moment he approached Hawthorne, he forcefully grabbed him with both hands and lifted him high into the air.

The veins on his forehead bulged as his red eyes burned with fury.

Then he roared with a terrifying deep voice that seemed to freeze the entire room.

“You've been a threat to Esturis!”

“But that ends today!”

“Who do you think you are?!”

He quickly released him.

Hawthorne crashed heavily onto the floor.

He coldly glanced at Rowan before shifting his gaze to Master Draxson.

He wanted to fight.

He wanted to take on Master Draxson, Rowan, and every soldier in the room using nothing but his advanced combat skills and deadly precision.

However, he was still handcuffed.

Furiously, he strained against the cuffs and gritted his teeth while glaring at all of them.

Rowan stood nearby with his hands buried in his pockets, smiling mockingly.

The soldiers remained standing in perfect formation.

The intimidating Supreme Commander returned majestically to his mighty throne.

His scarred face looked terrifying.

His red eyes and bulging veins alone were enough to make Rowan and the soldiers almost shiver.

Yet Hawthorne remained calm and fearless.

He continued staring directly at Master Draxson without the slightest sign of fear.

That boldness unsettled the almighty commander once again.

Master Draxson turned toward the two military guards standing behind him and shouted at the one on the right.

“Go and tell Behemoth that Master Draxson requires his presence immediately!”

“His work is waiting for him!”

The young guard quickly bowed.

“Understood, Master.”

Without delay, he hurried out of the room.

Master Draxson then looked at Hawthorne and shouted,

“Your breakfast will be served!”

Hawthorne remained calm on the surface.

But deep down, he wondered who this Behemoth was.

The name alone sounded monstrous.

To make matters worse, he was still handcuffed.

Still, he remained composed.

I'll wait and see when he arrives, he thought.

Rowan approached him with a satisfied smile.

“Finally, you're about to be broken.”

“That fake smile of yours will soon disappear.”

He pulled one hand from his pocket and tapped Hawthorne on the shoulder.

“Good luck.”

Then he stepped back, returning to his position beside the soldiers.

A venomous smile remained on his face as he waited for the punishment to begin.

Master Draxson continued glaring angrily at Hawthorne.

Yet Hawthorne remained completely unmoved.

Suddenly, the massive doors burst open.

BOOM!

A gigantic figure entered the room.

The man was so enormous that he had to lower his head to pass through the doorway.

His body was covered in tattoos and old scars.

He looked even more terrifying and imposing than Master Draxson himself.

He wore army camouflage trousers and a tight military-green singlet that exposed his broad chest, massive shoulders, six packs, and rock-hard muscles.

Veins bulged across his powerful arms and enormous biceps.

His face was scarred.

A stone-cut hairstyle sat atop his head while thick brown beards covered his jaw.

He looked more like a monster than a man.

It was none other than Behemoth.

The guard who had gone to summon him had already returned and stood beside Master Draxson.

The moment Behemoth entered, Rowan and the soldiers felt an overwhelming pressure.

Several of them completely shivered.

Yet the most shocking sight remained Hawthorne.

He stood completely unshaken and fearless.

Boldly staring at the monster before him.

Master Draxson, Rowan, and the soldiers were all unsettled by such courage.

Even Behemoth himself was shocked.

This wasn't what he had expected.

The man standing before him showed no fear whatsoever.

Everyone in the room was surprised.

However, none of them showed it openly.

Neither Master Draxson, Rowan, nor Behemoth wanted to appear weak before Hawthorne.

Behemoth stopped before Master Draxson, bowed respectfully, and spoke with a loud, thunderous voice.

“At your service, Master.”

Several soldiers and even Rowan instinctively shifted backward under his imposing presence.

But Hawthorne remained exactly where he was.

His eyes stayed fixed on Master Draxson and the monster he had unleashed.

Master Draxson pointed at Hawthorne.

“Do the needful.”

“I don't need to remind you.”

Behemoth bowed again.

Slowly, he turned toward Hawthorne.

His body trembled with rage, the veins across his massive frame bulged violently, and his eyes turned blood-red.

His already terrifying face became even scarier.

Then he started walking toward him.

Each step of his mighty boots struck the floor with frightening force.

Hawthorne remained composed.

Without warning, Behemoth rushed forward.

BAM!

His massive fist slammed directly into Hawthorne's mouth with all his strength.

Then he roared,

“How dare you challenge my Master, the greatest Supreme Commander ever!”

BAM!

Another brutal punch landed.

BAAMM!!

The third strike was even more thunderous.

The room seemed to shake beneath the impact.

Blood streamed from Hawthorne's mouth.

The pain was immense.

Yet he refused to scream.

Refused to beg.

Refused to break.

Instead, he calmly looked at Behemoth.

Master Draxson sat majestically on his throne with one leg crossed over the other, watching the scene unfold.

Rowan folded his arms and watched with excitement and satisfaction.

Then Hawthorne said something unbelievable.

Blood still trickled from his mouth as he spoke.

“You all are lucky that I'm cuffed.”

“I would have dealt with every one of you mercilessly.”

“Especially you... and you.”

He pointed directly at Rowan and Master Draxson.

“If you want to confirm how serious I am, just uncuff me.”

“Then watch and see me in action.”

“I dare all of you.”

The entire room froze.

This time, nobody could hide their shock.

Rowan frowned.

For the first time, genuine disbelief appeared on his face before he quickly concealed it.

Behemoth was stunned.

Years of beating prisoners had never produced someone like this.

No one had ever endured such punishment and still spoken with such audacity.

Master Draxson was equally shocked.

His presence commanded fear and respect throughout nations.

Yet this man refused to submit.

This man refused to break.

Slowly, Master Draxson straightened on his throne.

His eyes burned with fury as he whispered in utter disbelief.

“Unbelievable.”

Then he suddenly exploded with rage.

Pointing directly at Hawthorne, he shouted angrily at the monster he unleashed.

“Why are you still standing there?!”

“Teach him who runs this place!”

“Add more pressure!”

“Tear him apart!”

His thunderous voice swallowed the entire room.

And Behemoth was about to unleash true destruction upon Hawthorne.

The moment Rowan raised his hand, his face turned red with rage. His chest rose and fell heavily as he stared at Hawthorne, and for several seconds, he looked as though he was about to charge straight at him. The humiliation in Hawthorne’s words had struck a nerve, especially because the soldiers around them had heard almost everything. Rowan clenched his fists and took a step forward, his anger almost impossible to control.“Enough!” Rowan roared. “How dare you speak to me like that? You still think you can come here and challenge me?”He was about to move again when Irene quietly grabbed his arm and pulled him back. “Don’t bother yourself, darling,” she said coldly. “Let me do exactly what I’m capable of doing.”Rowan stopped and looked at her. His breathing was still heavy, but he eventually allowed himself to step back. “Irene…”“Leave him to me,” she interrupted. “I cannot stand here and watch him insult you.”Rowan remained silent, his eyes burning with fury as Irene turned awa

  • The Confrontation Begins V

“Irene…” Hawthorne called again, his voice low and painfully controlled. He stared at her for several seconds before finally speaking. “Despite everything I’ve done for you? You betrayed me like I never existed. I elevated your boutique business from scratch. I took care of you, I brought you out from the trenches, and you decided to repay me like this just because of the poor orphan that had nothing when I was the one bringing him up and finally made him who he is today?”His voice remained calm, but every word carried the weight of years of sacrifice. “Both of the very people who are closest to me are now standing in front of me like a couple. Do you know how painful this is? This pain cuts deeper than any wound. It is unbearable. This is what shows the wicked nature of mankind.”Hawthorne shifted his eyes toward Rowan. “Rowan, you are a typical example. Despite everything I’ve done for you, despite the fact that you were an orphan I rescued from assassins, you decided to take every

  • The Confrontation Begins IV

Hawthorne’s question remained hanging in the tense passage, but Irene did not answer immediately. She sighed deeply, almost as though his words had become an exhausting burden, then slowly turned her cold eyes toward him. “What will you even do if I tell you?” she asked. “Are you asking because you think you will do something? At the end of the day, what exactly will you do?” Hawthorne’s face remained still, but his heart tightened painfully. Irene gave a faint, mocking smile. “Anyway, I will tell you because I know you won’t do anything. Why should I hide it from you? I’m supposed to tell you what made me proud of my beloved darling.” She tightened her fingers around Rowan’s hand. “The motive is simple. I’m in love with him because I truly love him. He is more handsome than you, and he even has enough money to take care of me. In fact, I’m emotionally attached to him. There is no person who can separate us. Not even worthless and useless man like you.” Hawthorne’s chest rose s

  • The Confrontation Begins lll

Hawthorne’s voice was heavy, but his posture remained firm as he took another step toward Rowan. The question had barely left his lips when a violent tire screech suddenly tore through the air outside the passage. Everyone turned toward the entrance at once, and the soldiers instinctively tightened their grips on their weapons. A sleek black Mercedes G-Wagon came to a sharp stop outside the military entrance. The doors remained closed for a few seconds before the driver’s door opened, and Irene stepped out with calm majesty. She adjusted her clothes, shut the door, and walked toward the entrance with an air of confidence that made the soldiers immediately clear a path for her. Minutes later, Irene was already inside the passage. Hawthorne’s eyes locked onto her, and for one brief moment, everything around him seemed to disappear. He had imagined countless possibilities during his desperate search for his wife, but nothing had prepared him for the woman standing before him. Irene

  • The Confrontation Begins II

The soldiers paved a way as Rowan approached, and the entire passage seemed to change with his arrival. He did not hurry, nor did he need to. The military personnel opened a clear path for him as he walked through them with the confidence of a man who believed his authority was beyond question. His polished shoes struck the tiled floor with steady clicks, while his expensive military regalia looked even richer and more luxurious than the uniform Hawthorne himself had worn when he held the same position. When Rowan finally stopped, he stood face to face with Hawthorne. His eyes carried a poisonous, mocking look as he stared directly into Hawthorne's eyes, but Hawthorne remained completely unshaken. He stared back without blinking. As he studied Rowan, he noticed how much the man had changed. Rowan looked wealthier and fresher than before, and his body had become broader and more built, though he still carried a moderate frame rather than an enormous one. His sleek hair was careful
