Episode 2

HIS RESURGENCE 

CHAPTER 2

"How much did he pay you Clara? Just what did he give to you to make you accept his proposal" he pleaded the questions trying once more to reach out to her, he slowly made his way to where she stood. 

Clara turned away from him, avoiding not just his gaze this time but his questions, his pleas and him entirely.

"I'm sorry Xavierr, I can't continue with you anymore" she said. 

"But why?" he asked again extending his hands to her 

"I'm sorry" she said then moved away from him. 

"Clara…" he trailed off

"Now that's enough!" Mr. Benjamin reprimanded Xavier immediately with a very stern glare. 

"You will not humiliate my daughter in-law and your brother's wife in my sight"

Xavier was so shocked, more than he had ever been before. He was unable to do anything but watch as his life and everything he had built began to shatter right in front of him. 

Clara bowed to Mr Benjamin and respectively left the room, leaving both men to themselves. 

Xavier stared at Clara as she left, he stared at his father and hot tears trickled down his face. Anger and hatred begin to bubble and settle in. 

He was angry at his father for everything he has done for him and angry at Clara for denying and betraying their love so easily.

Mr Benjamin cleared his throat again to grasp the attention of whatever was left of Xavier before he began talking, "Now that it is settled, I want you to double whatever it is you planned before for the wedding, invite the prime mi…"

"You have the nerve father!" Xavier yelled out as he watched his father continue to order him around like nothing had happened, like his wedding had not just been canceled.

He wanted to scream in his face, punch him until his face caved in, strangle him but he just felt so weak to do anything.

"You never care for me, all you ever do is control me like your fucking puppet and now after what you have done, you want me to continue preparations for the wedding for my brother, I have accepted that Alex can get whatever he wants, he has won but I would do no such thing as preparing for the wedding" He yelled, his chest was heaving as he tried to catch his breath, he glared at his father then left the study room.

"Come back here Xavier" Mr. Benjamin called out repeatedly but Xavier who was filled with rage ignored him.

Xavierr left the house to the garage to get his car and without a care in the world he drove off. 

He had no destination in mind, he just wanted to leave that vicinity at that moment. 

He was driving blindly with tears streaming down his cheeks.

Xavier finally walked into a Bar he frequented all the time after driving for so long. He was dejected and with a heavy heart, he took his steps towards a table.

 All he wanted to do was to drink himself to stupor and forget about everything that had happened like it was a dream. 

He slouched on the bar stool and tapped the table to call the bartender. 

"Your strongest drink, I need to get wasted," he said to the bartender. After a few minutes, the bartender returned with his request.

"Thank you" he said when the bartender placed his drink on the table. 

 He uncorked his drink and directly drank from the bottle, taking large gulps as he swallowed. 

Soon Xavier requested for more drinks as he began to drink, he had really meant what he said by drinking to stupor.

"What is a Whitlock doing here in such a place?" A voice touted behind Xavier drawing his attention and that of the others available in the bar.

Xavier didn't pay him any attention and continued to drink slowly in his sorry state. 

"Oh wait! He is not a 'Whitlock', he is that son of a whore who claimed to be pregnant for Mr. Benjamin " The voice called out again this time tauntingly with raucous laughter.

There was so much laughter from the bar following the remark the man had made but Xavier still remained planted to his seat .

The voice which belonged to David, his brother's personal assistant, spoke again. "Aww he is sad, perhaps someone is screwing his wife to be".

The moment he completed his statement, Xavier lost it and slammed the bottle of alcohol he was drinking right on David's face.

There was a massive uproar in the bar immediately after that and a bar fight ensued. 

Driven mostly by alcohol and his frustrations, he directed them at David, releasing blows upon blows to the man even after he had fallen to the ground. 

A few people tried to restrain Xavier but rather than relent he directed the blows to them as well, and soon the intoxicated men in the drinking parlor were in a heated fist brawl. 

bottles were broken, tables and chairs flung at one another leading to damages and injuries. 

Xavier left the drinking parlor with a broken nose , bloody lips and few minor injuries but he was done taking shit from any assholes. It wasn't his fault he was born a bastard and he would no longer receive the blame of his parents.

His sense of reasoning had become dull from the alcohol and his frustrations and anger leading him to act out without restraints. 

He got into his car willing to drive home, he turned on the vehicle and revved the engines for a few seconds before he remembered there was his father and Clara at home and he did not want to meet them. 

He turned off the car, took out a baseball bat and went back into the bar to drink and possibly continue the fight .

It didn't take long before he was thrown out of the bar and banned from ever entering it again and it infuriated him since it was his favorite place. 

Once again he entered his car and revved the engine and just drove with no thoughts about what had happened next and the end result was him ramming into the bar with his car .

His Car went right Into the bar and destroyed the front of the establishment in a frenzy. He managed to stagger out of his vehicle, the whole place in disarray from the accident that had occured. 

Just after he staggered out of the damaged bar, his vehicle exploded.

The explosion knocked him to the side of the road, he tried opening his eyes but the only thing he could see And hear were blurred lights and muffled sirens and people screaming and then he passed out
