Damarion smirked.

“Is he really that great?”

“Is he truly deserving of being called a majestic eagle?”

He let out a soft chuckle.

“You’re exaggerating your praise, Mr. Hanson.”

As his laughter subsided, Damarion’s eyes narrowed, and he asked sarcastically.

“If he’s really that extraordinary, shouldn’t the GDP of the capital be higher than that of Noorhaven?”

Damarion’s question silenced everyone, as it was true—the capital’s GDP was not higher than Noorhaven’s.

He continued, his tone dripping with mockery, “Why are you all so quiet? Isn’t he supposed to be a majestic eagle?”

Damarion emphasized, “The reality is, managing a state isn’t as easy as boasting, Mr. Hanson.”

“The administration of Noorhaven with or without Lord Vinsion would be vastly different.”

“If Lord Vinsion leaves Noorhaven, he wouldn’t lose a thing and would still thrive.”

“On the contrary, if Noorhaven were abandoned by Lord Vinsion, the entire state would collapse!”

Frustrated, Oberon slammed his hand on the table and stood up.

“How dare you!”

“As the Lieutenant Governor, are you attempting to slander and threaten me?”

Even so, Damarion remained unfazed.

He spoke in a cold tone, “Mr. Hanson, I’m only warning you.”

“If you insist on ignoring my warning, prepare yourself for regret!”

With that, the Lieutenant Governor stormed out of the room angrily, followed closely by the restaurant manager.

Calista grumbled, “Damn, that old fossil ruined my appetite.”

Oberon sat back down and spoke gently to Calista.

“Just ignore him. He’s just a fool who doesn’t understand the nonsense he’s spouting.”

“Rael has no business leading Noorhaven!”

Calista nodded.

“You’re right, Dad. He’s completely unfit.”

She let out a long sigh, relaxing her tense body after the brief confrontation before dinner.

Mathis chimed in confidently, “There’s no need to worry. I’m better than Rael and will definitely lead Noorhaven to greater heights.”

A satisfied smile spread across Calista’s face, mirrored by Oberon.

Deep down, they were thrilled with Mathis’s confidence.

Oberon declared, “Yes, I trust you, Young Master.”

Calista added coquettishly, “I truly can’t wait to see you lead Noorhaven and how Damarion regret for what he said today.”

Laughter filled the room as they enjoyed their dinner together.

Meanwhile, late at night, Joel drove Rael to the base of Mount Kryden.

That area was the most chaotic region in Noorhaven due to its location on the border.

On nights like this, battles frequently broke out beyond the border.

And although the men of the Lord of the Scorpion dared not cross into Noorhaven, the constant sound of explosions that were heard made the residents near Mount Kryden restless and terrified.

Joel hurriedly opened the car door for Rael.

“After you, My Lord.”

To ensure Rael’s safety on Mount Kryden, Joel brought along several elite guards.

They stood on high alert, securing the area around Rael’s car.

As Rael stepped out of the car, they were greeted by a surprising sight.

To their astonishment, the villages at the foot of Mount Kryden appeared calm and peaceful, with no signs of danger whatsoever.

This tranquility was due to the fact that news of Rael’s arrival at Mount Kryden had already spread among the locals.

Consequently, even the enemies beyond the border dared not stir any trouble.

Lieutenant Governor Damarion understood this well.

Unfortunately, Damarion was not present at the foot of Mount Kryden at the moment.

On the other hand, Joel’s knowledge of Rael and the mountain was rather limited.

Joel murmured as he scanned his surroundings, “Oh my… is the foot of Mount Kryden truly this safe?”

The elite guards chimed in as well.

“I was expecting wild beasts or traps around Mount Kryden, but all I hear are owls and crickets.”

“And the scent of freshly baked bread, no less.”

“Are we sure we’re not lost? I thought this place was supposed to be dangerous.”

The next morning, after finishing breakfast, Rael prepared to climb Mount Kryden.

Joel, concerned for Rael’s safety, asked politely, “My Lord, may I accompany you on the climb?”

Rael shook his head.

“There’s no need, Mr. Myers. You’d best wait here for me.”

He added, “I won’t take long. I’ll be back by noon.”

Still, Joel couldn’t shake his worry for Rael.

“My Lord, it would be highly improper for you to ascend the mountain alone while we sit idly here.”

Speaking earnestly, Joel pleaded, “Please, allow us to accompany you on your journey.”

After a moment of thought, Rael nodded.

“Alright. Let’s climb the mountain together, then.”

Joel felt relieved immediately.

Meanwhile, Rael packed the things he had bought beforehand — a bouquet of flowers, candles, and other items, necessary for a grave visit.

As they made their way up the mountain, Joel couldn’t help but marvel again.

The scenery along the trail that morning was just as it had been the night before—peaceful and serene.

However, it wasn’t long before Joel noticed the mountain paths were filled with armored vehicles and men armed to the teeth.

“What in the world is going on?”

Joel immediately became alert, reaching for his pistol, ready to fire.

But to his utter surprise, the armed men began saluting with great reverence, as though welcoming an esteemed guest.

“Hail Lord Vinsion!”

“Hail Lord Vinsion!”

“Hail Lord Vinsion!”

The previously quiet Mount Kryden suddenly erupted in greetings, shocking Joel.

Make sure you report to me if you see any movement from Lord Vinsion’s subordinates. If there are any.”They all nodded in unison. “Understood.”Not long after, news of the illegal immigrants’ entry quickly spread because many officials who had previously worked under Rael had either resigned or been dismissed. As a result, Nymbrial County was understaffed to handle urgent matters like this. The news soon reached Oberon and Mathis.Oberon’s eyebrows furrowed deeply. “Illegal immigrant? How is that even possible?”Mathis’s expression also showed concern. After all, during the four

The wave of strikes and mass resignations by state officials in Noorhaven had truly shaken Oberon and Mathis.Mathis muttered, "Why is it that after I took over this state, I have to face such chaos?""Regardless, this turmoil must not drag on, or it will disrupt regional stability and development."More than that, Oberon was even angrier, almost tempted to flip the table in front of him. He completely lost his appetite. Clenching his teeth in frustration, his fury boiled over. The officials' demands to release Rael and their threats of a work strike had truly pushed Oberon's patience to its limit."Fine. If they want to strike or even resign!""I don't care!""In fact, this is an excellent opportunity for Noorhaven to get rid of Rael's loyalists and replace them with new officials who are more open-minded and willing to cooperate with me!""The notion that Noorhaven cannot function properly without Rael is utterly ridiculous!"As Oberon envisioned replacing the officials with talente

Oberon’s idea sounded excellent to Mathis. In that moment, Mathis regained his determination to confront Rael and secure his position in Noorhaven.“That’s brilliant, Mr. Hanson!”Spontaneously, Mathis clapped his hands in delight, praising the clever plan of his future father-in-law. The smile on Mathis’ face reflected his newfound optimism, as if he could hit Rael away like a fly.Oberon nodded.“For now, I’ve already sent my men to investigate the officials who have complaints about Rael.”“To regain your energy, I think you should rest early.”Mathis nodded in agreement.“Sure.”He then retreated to his bedroom. After a long and exhausting day, Mathis felt he needed time to recharge and prepare himself for the challenges of tomorrow.Even so, as he lay on his bed, Mathis couldn’t stop thinking about Rael.“That bastard…”“At least you’re rotting in the dungeon, living a miserable life!”Mathis tried to comfort himself, and the thought of Rael being imprisoned lifted his spirits.Ho

After thinking for quite a while, Oberon finally had an idea.“Mr. Huber, I have an idea!”Lucan stared sharply at Oberon.“Speak!”Oberon quickly explained, “To divert the officials’ attention from the misunderstanding at Rael’s warehouses, we need to create news that will ruin Rael’s reputation!”“I’ll make the public aware that Rael often uses his dark powers to oppress capable officials and prevent them from getting promotions.”“Meanwhile, he allows incompetent officials to retain their positions!”According to Oberon, Rael had always been known for his good reputation because he had done many good deeds. Therefore, exposing Rael’s true face to the public was the right step to destroy their trust in him.Additionally, this diversion would also make the public aware that Rael had been hindering the country’s growth.Oberon’s previously pale face started to shine with optimism.“One more thing. The public must also know that Rael is collaborating with the Lord of the Scorpion at th

The sharp words from the official on the other end of the line slowly erased the smile from Lucan’s face.Shaking his head in frustration, Lucan retorted, “Are you so envious of Mathis’s accomplishments at such a young age that you resort to making false accusations against him?”In short, Lucan trusted Mathis more than the official on the phone.“You shouldn’t believe everything on TV just because it’s aired there!”The official sneered, “You shouldn’t blindly trust Mathis either!”“I understand he’s your son. But does a father simply stand by when his son does something wrong?”“Let me make one thing clear to you, Mr. Huber. I’m not saying this out of jealousy, as you’ve accused!”“But because the state of Noorhaven has already sent evidence to the capital!”“Every official in the capital now knows about the fraudulent actions of your son!”Without waiting for Lucan’s response, the official ended the call abruptly. The harsh manner of the official left Lucan stunned, speechless for

I am Aiden Russell, a reporter from Nooria News Channel.”With a professional smile, Aiden asked again, “So, is it true that Rael Vinsion is involved in a massive embezzlement case?”The bank staff did not immediately answer the reporter's question. Instead, he simply handed over an envelope that was in his hand to the reporter. Aiden took the envelope with a confused expression.“Are you trying to bribe me so I won’t report this case?”The bank staff's face turned sour, and he replied, “Just open the envelope. You’ll find out what’s really going on here.”Although hesitant, Aiden finally opened the envelope in his hand. The reporter's eyes narrowed when he saw that the envelope
