Bruce stood in the center of Yard C, chest heaving, blood dripping from his knuckles. Around him, shattered concrete and groaning inmates marked the aftermath of his last clash.

But the system’s warnings didn’t fade. External threat remains—bond is under surveillance.

Bruce’s gaze shot skyward. Somewhere beyond the prison walls, someone was watching. Someone had taken an interest in Luna. He gritted his teeth. “So that’s how it’s going to be.”

Tian’s voice came quietly behind him. “You can’t act outside yet. The prison’s rules still apply.”

Bruce didn’t flinch. “Then I’ll bend the rules.”

A whistle pierced the air. Warden Graves stepped onto the arena ledge, silver insignia glinting under the harsh lights. “You think you can defy me?” he asked. “You think a single inmate can change the hierarchy?”

Bruce smirked. “I’m not a single inmate.”

Graves’ eyes narrowed. “Oh? Enlighten me.”

Bruce glanced at the surrounding runes, fractured from his last clash, and whispered, “You’ll see.”

The air thickened. Power coiled inside Bruce, violent and raw, tangling with the Heavenbreak Legacy. The system pulsed: Warning. Forbidden Authority detected—extreme risk to life.

Bruce ignored it. He slammed his foot into the cracked ground. A shockwave erupted, throwing multiple guards off balance.

The runes glowed fiercely, reacting to his will. Even the air itself seemed to tremble. Graves stumbled back. “Impossible… he’s overriding the containment!”

Bruce’s eyes burned with intensity. “If you touch her, the cost will be more than you can imagine.”

Suddenly, the ground beneath Yard C cracked violently. Inmates screamed as jagged stone rose like teeth from the earth, binding the arena walls.

Bruce’s aura flared bright red, almost blinding, as fragments of power coalesced around him. System Update: Forbidden Authority - Active

Level: Mortal - Earth - Sky Threshold

Effect: Absolute presence over hostile forces within arena radius

In a low, resonating voice, Bruce commanded, “Step back.”

Holt, Nyx, the massive fighter, all froze mid-motion. Even Graves’ guards hesitated. Every hostile intent slowed, as though time bent around Bruce’s authority.

Tian approached carefully. “You’re doing it… But every activation costs you. You can’t hold this long.”

Bruce ignored him. His mind was already halfway to Luna. The system pulsed again. Bond Threat Critical. Life-force linked—distance: 12 miles.

Bruce’s fists clenched. “They’re touching her… and they’ll regret it.”

A shiver of anticipation ran through the arena as the inmates and guards instinctively knelt. The power radiating from Bruce wasn’t just strength; it was control, absolute, frightening.

Graves’ face twisted. “You, how are you doing this?!”

Bruce stepped forward. “Because I don’t kneel. Because I don’t bargain. And because anyone who dares threaten her… dies first.”

Suddenly, a shadow flickered across the perimeter, outside the prison walls. Someone moved toward Luna.

Bruce’s body trembled with fury and fear. Forbidden Authority pulsed harder, tendrils of energy snapping from him toward the prison walls.

The earth shook. Concrete splintered. Guards screamed, trying to restrain the chaos. Tian shouted over the noise, “Bruce! If you push it too far, the prison itself will collapse!”

Bruce didn’t respond. His voice, cold and commanding, cut through the chaos: “Move.”

The shadow outside froze. A faint glow reflected in its eyes. Bruce felt it, his bond, Luna’s presence, under direct threat. Rage, protective and unstoppable, ignited fully inside him.

Forbidden Authority: Level Up Detected. Mortal - Sky - Threshold.

Power surged uncontrollably. Lightning arcs sizzled along the cracked concrete. Every hostile presence within the arena froze as Bruce’s aura expanded.

The very walls of Blackstone trembled in recognition. Graves’ voice came, distant and trembling. “Containment… failing…”

Bruce’s eyes locked on the shadow. “If you harm her… this arena won’t be enough to hold me.”

A sudden gust tore through the yard. Dust and debris swirled violently. Bruce felt the system’s warning:

Life-risk: 92%. Emotional surge: Maximum. Bond proximity is critical.

He didn’t flinch. Cost be damned. The shadow outside froze, trembling under Bruce’s invisible yet undeniable authority.

Even miles away, Luna’s heart skipped a beat as a strange sensation washed over her, like someone powerful, terrifyingly protective, was reaching out.

Bruce’s voice echoed across the arena, low and steady: “I am Bruce Kane. And no one touches what belongs to me.”

The lights flickered. Sirens blared. Somewhere deep inside the prison, the runes responded with violent, chaotic energy. Bruce’s aura reached its peak.

And in that instant, the shadow outside faltered, halted, and vanished into the night. Bruce sank to one knee, chest heaving, blood dripping from his fists.

Forbidden Authority retracted slightly, leaving tremors in its wake. Yard C lay in ruin. Inmates and guards stared, terrified, but alive. Tian approached cautiously. “You… you did it.”

Bruce wiped the blood from his mouth. “She’s safe. For now.”

Tian’s expression was grave. “You just announced yourself. The prison won’t forget. And neither will the outside forces.”

Bruce’s eyes darkened. “Let them come. I’ll carve a path to her no matter what it costs.”

Above the prison, unseen eyes recorded everything. Somewhere far away, a faint smile formed on a shadowed figure’s lips.

Target acquired: Bruce Kane. Bonded life: vulnerable. Priority threat: Extreme.

Bruce rose slowly, aura still simmering with unspent power. His fists clenched. His heart pounded—not with fear, but with purpose. The first real message had been sent:

Cross me, and you’ll wish the heavens themselves had swallowed you first.

And in the silence that followed, the prison trembled, knowing it had just met something far beyond what it was built to contain.

Another inmate slowly backed away as Bruce passed, eyes wide, palms open as if facing a wild animal. Bruce leaned closer to Tian. “Why is everyone staring?”Tian didn’t slow his pace. “Because your name just circulated.”Bruce frowned. “My name isn’t famous.”“It is now,” Tian said. “Red Status inmates don’t stay anonymous.”A voice echoed from above. “Inmate Bruce Kane.”Bruce looked up. The intercom crackled again. “Report to Yard C. Immediately.”Murmurs erupted. “Yard C?”“That’s not a yard, that’s a slaughter pit.”“Who pissed off the warden this badly?”Bruce exhaled slowly. “That sounds welcoming.”Tian stopped walking. His breathing is uneven—power, raw and unfinished, coiled inside him like a living thing.“You said this wasn’t your doing,” Bruce said. “Then tell me why I feel like I just crossed a line I can’t step back from.”Tian met his gaze. “Because you did.”The walls trembled. Cracks spread through the glowing symbols, light bleeding out like dying veins. Bruce glanced around. “That thing you said the prison suppressed… is it waking up?”Tian’s grip tightened on his cane. “It’s already awake.”A deep thud echoed from somewhere far below. Then another. Bruce swallowed. “That doesn’t sound human.”“It isn’t,” Tian replied. “And if you stay here, it will smell you.”Bruce scoffed weakly. “Smell me?”Tian didn’t answer. He turned and walked. Bruce followed. They moved through a narrow passag
