Chapter 9

It was all their imagination, no one was there to pounce on them. The preparator of the incident had left a long time ago.

Getting to the body, the four observed the skinny bodies on the floor while shivering slightly.

Their hearts trembled, they had never witnessed something like this.

"What do you think we should do?" Emily sighed, breaking the silence, she was the first to recover.

The three were drawn back to reality when they heard Emily's words.

They knew they couldn't leave the bodies out in the wild, nor could they call the police, they would be implicated.

"I think we should go back first." James sighed.

Anne and Natasha nodded in agreement and the four headed back to Emily's house.

That night after sending her friends off, Emily was unable to sleep. Her mind kept reflecting on what she had seen.

She tossed and turned trying her best to forget what she saw and heard but it was somewhat impossible.

She could still hear the screams piercing into her ears. The screams were horrifying and she couldn't help but shiver.

She could feel the helplessness, pain, and despair even at this moment.

She wished she was able to help, but sadly she was just a human and didn't have any supernatural abilities.

She had started to believe her brother's theories that supernatural beings existed.

Before long, Emily's eyelids became heavy and her eyes were unable to hold them anymore.

Soon she drifted off to the realm of dreams. A place she didn't want to visit.

"Mmmm!"

Emily mumbled before opening her eyes while using a hand to draw the curtains preventing the sun rays from penetrating the room.

Yawning, she stood up from the bed and went to wash up. After a while, she was done and then went to the parlor.

There was no school today, that was why Harry had not come to wake her or else she wouldn't have had so much peace.

She was sure he was still going to be asleep as he was a heavy sleeper.

Getting to the sitting room Emily was a bit surprised as Harry was sitting on the sofa watching TV while her parents dined at the dining table.

"Good morning mom, dad." Emily muttered a greeting to her parents joining them at the dining table.

"Eat this dear, you're getting skinner." Emily's mum smiled at her as she stuffed Emily's plate.

Emily smiled and began to eat her food as she thought about what she was going to do for the day.

"Reports have it that three bodies were found...." The reporter's voice trailed into Emily's ears and immediately she stopped eating her food.

Insider the TV was the three bodies Emily and her friends had found the night before.

At that moment, she could hear the screams again. The helpless scream which had haunted her for the night came again.

Immediately Emily lost her appetite and dropped the spoon.

"Yeah, I knew it. It's the work of the supernatural." Harry jumped excitedly from the sofa.

"Sis, this should be the work of a vampire." Harry laughed as he pointed at the TV.

At that moment, Emily's face was becoming even paler as she started to believe what Harry was saying.

She couldn't relate all that was happening to anything except the existence of a supernatural being.

"Sis...."

"Harry, don't mislead your sister, there's nothing like a vampire or werewolf. It's all just theories which were made up..." A deep voice cut Harry off from what he was about to say.

"Besides, the government will catch the culprit soon."

Harry nodded and looked at his father who had just interrupted him. He wanted to convince his sister a little more so she was going to believe him.

"I'm full." Emily muttered and stood up from the table.

She couldn't concentrate as the screams were still piercing her ears.

She wasn't the one who killed them and yet they were hunting her.

If she had known she wouldn't have gone into the forest with her friends.

"Honey, you're no...."

"I'm sorry mum, but I lost my appetite." Emily cut off her mother and headed back to her room.

Getting there, she collapsed on the bed as she felt her mind couldn't take it anymore.

She had to do something about it. It was getting too much or else she was going to go insane.

In no time Emily felt drowsy and soon she slept off.

(The supernatural Realm)

Inside Nick's castle, the seven advisors were seated in front of Nick with nervous expressions.

They were all afraid to speak, their lord was angry.

"What's taking those Harbingers so long?!!" Nick yelled, breaking the silence.

The advisors shivered unconsciously. They weren't able to get hold of their bodies till after some time.

Even after coming back to their senses none of them was able to speak.

It was a bad thing for their lord to be angry. If it was not because of the extreme self-control he had built over the years they would have received some trashing.

Nick stood from his throne and started pacing around the room trying to calm down.

He couldn't understand what the harbingers were doing in the human world.

He couldn't believe that they were yet to kill the hell wolf. There were only two possibilities for their failure.

It was either they couldn't find the host or the host was already stronger than them and had killed them.

He needed an answer, he couldn't just stay and be speculating. He couldn't let some lad come and overthrow him.

It wasn't going to happen, not in this lifetime.

"Open a portal and send my armies to the human realm, Lucy." Nick broke the silence as he spoke slowly.

The advisors sprang to their feet when they heard Nick's command. It was as if they had just come out of a trance.

"My Lord, it's too dangerous." Darren sighed.

"What's too dangerous?" Nick growled as he turned around, his eyes burning in fury.

At that moment all the advisors swallowed back what they were about to say while Darren took a step back swallowing some saliva.

Their lord was truly terrifying when angry, they had to make sure they offended him less in the future lest he kills them.

"You're to send one-third of my army to the human world." Nick sighed, breaking the silence after some time.

"Should I send the destroyers instead?" Lucy replied.

Her voice was as calm as the sea before the storm and because of the veil on her face, it was impossible to read her expression.

"The destroyers?" The other advisors gasped in shock as they knew what they were capable of doing.

"The destroyers..." Nick paused as he seemed to be thinking about something. "Yes, send them."

"Yeah, my lord." Lucy replied and disappeared.

The advisors couldn't help but shake their heads when they thought of what the destroyers were capable of.

The destroyers were a group of strange creatures in the supernatural Realm.

From their name, one would likely guess what they were capable of doing.

They existed only to wreak havoc on a place until it completely turned to ruins.

They looked exactly like a werewolf but with two arms and two heads.

They were not particularly huge and strong, but they made it up with their numbers.

They would swarm over an enemy quickly taking the person out. Even though they were one of the weakest races in the supernatural Realm they were feared by many.

They were overprotective of their kind and would kill any who hurt or killed any of their kind.

They were also known for their tough vitality which made it hard for one to kill them.

Nick glanced at his advisors, shaking his head, and he disappeared.

Immediately he disappeared, the advisors heaved a huge sigh of relief.

In the cloud realm, strange creatures with two arms and heads stood behind Lucy who was sitting crossed-legged with her eyes closed.

The creatures were densely packed and one could hear snarls and growls coming from them.

Suddenly, an ice-cold aura spread around the place making all the growls and snarls stop.

The aura came from Lucy who was sitting cross-legged. After a while, the aura disappeared and everything returned to its normal state.

At that moment, a strange phenomenon began to happen as lightning struck.

(Human Realm)

Inside a mansion deep in the woods, Rachel who was sitting crossed-legged with her eyes closed suddenly opened them.

"What's the strange energy?" She frowned and disappeared.

"Guys, let's head out there's something we need to check." Rachel appeared in front of Jason and Damien who was in their room.

Not giving them a chance to reply she disappeared again.

"How dare she act arrogantly!!" Damien muttered under his breath rushing out with Jason.

"Let's go." Rachel muttered when she sensed their presence and then dashed into the woods with the boys.

****

Not far from the mansion. Three figures draped in a black cloth sitting crossed-legged suddenly opened their eyes.

"Let's go." A thick hoarse voice sounded from one of the figures and immediately the figure flashed out from sight.
