Sandro and Nadir looked at Briana imploringly.

Would their daughter consider it this time?

However, Briana slowly shook her head. "No, I won't divorce my husband."

"Enough! I've heard enough!" Althea gestured with both hands, "Sandro, Nadir, you're both also expelled from here!"

"WHAT?" Nadir widened her eyes, "But why do we have to pay for our daughter's mistakes?"

Althea looked at her daughter-in-law and eldest son with extreme disappointment.

She desired to slap them both, but she felt they didn't even deserve that.

Her eldest son didn't have the same business acumen as his father and was relegated to a position lower than Gilson.

Gilson was Althea's favorite son. That explained even more why she felt extreme anger at Briana for interrupting his birthday party by bringing Mark.

"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." That was Althea's response.

"No, Mother, for God's sake!" Sandro tried to grab Althea's hands, but she quickly pulled hers away, scowling.

In Mark’s office at Glamour, Mark gestured for Elara to take a seat. She complied, her eyes subtly tracing the muscular back and firm physique of Manager Ferro as he walked around the expansive desk to sit opposite her.‘How I envy Mrs. Ferro,’ Elara thought to herself.“Miss D'Arveil,” Mark began formally, “I want to sincerely thank you for taking an interest in the affairs of Braspolis.”“You’re welcome, Manager Ferro.”“I wanted to know if you had given proper thought to the proposal we made about you becoming a candidate for the status of Mrs. Vasconcelos.”Elara smiled suggestively. “Manager Ferro, may I be frank with you?”“Always.”“I’ve been doing some research. As you know, I’m not exactly from around here. I spent a good part of my life in Europe.”“And what did your research reveal?” Mark asked, kind of feeling what she will answer, and not liking it.“Christopher Vasconcelos, as I’ve already established, is a first-rate hunk,” she said, her voice switching to a seductive w

Moments later, on the main streets of Braspolis, traffic was flowing smoothly and lightly, a surreal sight considering the packed buses and the booming business for ride-share drivers.Inside his car, Mark was driving, still noting the ease of the morning commute.“Will people ever settle down?” he muttered to himself, shaking his head at the strange urban calm.Mark pulled his Lamborghini Urus to a stop at the gatehouse of the Glamour building garage. The boom barrier was slow to lift.Beep! Mark honked, staring at the gatehouse’s tinted window, impatient with the delay. After what felt like an eternity, he was finally admitted. He drove the Lamborghini toward his usual spot, only to suddenly SLAM on the brakes.A crowd of Glamour employees had gathered, all focused on a single person. From his vantage point inside the car, Mark’s frown deepened as he registered three key things:His customary parking spot was occupied by another car.The person commanding everyone’s attention was El

“I expect you to keep your girlfriends under control, Julian,” Mark said, his voice sounding with faint disapproval.“Yes, Lord Ferro,” Julian replied, slightly flustered. He gave a quick bow and hurried toward the kitchen.Once he closed the dining room door, Julian pulled out his ringing phone and rolled his eyes at the screen.“Mrs. Vasconcelos...!” he answered, his tone flat.Meanwhile, at the Vasconcelos Mansion...In Sandro’s master bathroom, Nadir, still in her nightgown, was sitting on the toilet but not actually using it. The door was, predictably, locked.“Julian, we need a clear definition regarding our relationship,” Nadir stated into the phone.“What relationship?” Julian asked with undisguised contempt.“Precisely, that is the problem,” she said, choosing to ignore his tone. “We are wasting time with anguish and stalling.”“But it is you who is harboring vain feelings for me!” Julian countered, horrified.“My feelings are pure and noble,” she declared.“Go seek help, you

Some days later. The sky above Braspolis was a heavy, bruised canvas, revealing clouds thick with an imminent downpour. A sense of false twilight hung over the day.Outside the Ferro House, by the swimming pool, Domitila worked with frantic haste. The wind had scattered tree leaves across the pool deck, and she was sweeping them up, racing against the deluge she knew was coming.“Lord God,” she muttered, wiping a sleeve across her brow, “hold those clouds back just a little longer while I sweep, please!”In the garage, Everton, who was known to wash the cars shirtless, was now fully dressed and still shivering. He flinched and sneezed as he rinsed Briana’s Beetle, the contact with the cool water clearly affecting him.“I think I’m catching a cold,” he sniffled, bending over. “A-CHOO!”******Inside the Ferro House, in the master suite, the dual sound of Mark’s and Briana’s cell phones cut through the morning silence. They were set to the same strident alarm.Briana snuggled deeper int

Not even ten seconds passed before his phone vibrated wildly in his hand. Gilson let out a low, wicked chuckle. His ringtone — an utterly obscene reggaeton song Celia had set for herself — blasted loudly, the lyrics practically shouting: “I’m gonna spread you open tonight.”Several refined gentlemen turned and glared at him, scandalized.Realizing how wildly inappropriate the song was for such an upscale place, Gilson blanched, slapped the phone silent, stuffed it into his pocket, and strutted back to the table as if nothing had happened.Across the table, Claudia was also on her phone, though for a very different reason. She was talking to Rodolfo, who was in his bedroom, still laid on the bed, still naked and still handcuffed where Claudia had left him. Outrage colored his voice.“What? You’re going to have a good time with your husband and leave me handcuffed here forever?!”“Don’t be vulgar!” Claudia hissed, mortified. “Tomorrow morning I’ll stop by and unlock you. Of course, you’

Nadir nearly had a heart attack. The shock was so violent she stumbled backward and tipped toward the open window.“Aaah!”Sandro froze for a fraction of a second, then reacted with the precision of an action hero.He sprinted forward, grabbed her before she could pitch outward, and hauled her safely back into the room. They stared at each other, their mutual terror slowly dissolving… and then they fell into another kiss, fiercer and more urgent than the first.******As dusk settled over the city, Karl and Luana reached their apartment building and halted in surprise the moment they reached the door. Two familiar figures were waiting for them in the hallway.“Dad? Mom?” Karl blurted.Octavio opened his arms wide. “Hello, son!”Jade waved cheerfully. “Hi, Luana!”Luana nudged Karl, silently insisting he be more polite. “Hello! We didn’t know you were coming.”“We saw your stories announcing you were back,” Jade said. “We couldn’t miss the chance.”Karl set a few suitcases down, dug in
