Gilson returned to the mansion, completely distraught.

Claudia was coming down the stairs, heading to their son’s temporary room.

Seeing her husband with a ghostly expression, she stepped back. “Dear, what happened?”

“Is Mom here?” Gilson asked in a weak tone.

“Huh, your mother?” Claudia frowned and approached him, not hearing properly. “She’s watch-binging some independent series made by Glamour. Why?”

“Independent series?” Gilson was puzzled.

“Yes, those series that are made without great ambition to be a mega-hit, with a limited budget, usually posted directly on the Internet or streaming TV,” Claudia said in a tone that also showed her disagreement.

“Why is she wasting time watching those things when she could be watching one of OUR series?” Gilson asked indignantly.

“She said she’s trying out products from other companies to get better acquainted.” Claudia shrugged. “Anyway, let your mom enjoy the last years of her life however she wants. I was going to talk to Chris.”

After a restless night, everyone summoned by Mark gathered in the secured operations room. Linda was already there, arranging the seats and keeping an eye on the glass door, waiting for the others to arrive. It slid open with a soft hiss, and Regis walked in, flanked by Vargas and Everton.“Good morning, gentlemen,” Linda greeted with her usual calm.“Good morning, Linda,” Everton replied, a faint smirk on his lips. “It’s been a while.”“It really has,” she said. “Did you sleep well?”Their awkward smiles were enough of an answer.“Lord Ferro is on his way,” Vargas said quietly. The door opened again, and this time Susana Linz entered, composed and dignified as always.“Linda… everyone,” she greeted warmly. “How are you all holding up?”“Mrs. Linz, welcome. Please, have a seat,” Linda replied.Everton raised a brow. “Well, this must be serious; we’ve got the Vice President of LCN with us.”Susana sat down gracefully. “Indeed,” she said dryly. “I didn’t come here to discuss television

On the other end, Nadir stood by the pool at the Vasconcelos Mansion, whispering even though no one else was there.“Is that really the tone you’re using with me?” she hissed.“What tone were you expecting?” Julian replied evenly.“The tone of a man who can’t wait to devour his starving lover!” Nadia answered with her eyes gleaming with “passion”.“Jeez,” he said dryly, “you’ve been watching way too much triple-X cinema.”Her voice tightened. “Julian, don’t make me do something drastic.”He kept using “you” instead of “ma’am,” careful not to alert Regis, who no doubt thought he was dealing with some clingy young fling.“What can you do?” he said. “Expose me? You’d go down with me. And that wouldn’t look good for my employers.” He let a sly smile curl his lips. “Or maybe it would. Lord Ferro knows my family. That’s partly why he hired me.”“Please, Julian,” Nadir whimpered, her voice breaking. “I need your naked body again!”“Forget it,” he snapped. He wanted to shout “Go find your hus

Gilson burst through the front door, panting like a bull ready for the charge, as though making love to Celia were a matter of life and death.“I’m here, my love!” he roared, his voice echoing through the dark house.Bare footsteps padded down the stairs. He looked up, and his breath caught.Celia descended slowly, smiling with the wicked satisfaction of a courtesan. Her nightgown was so sheer it seemed designed for one purpose only: to be torn apart by the strong, impatient hands of the man waiting for her below. She might as well have been naked.“You took your time tonight,” she purred.“Didn’t you see the news?” he asked, slamming the door shut behind him. “My son was attacked.”Her expression softened, though the glint in her eyes remained. “I heard. I just don’t want anything bad to happen to your handsome boy.”Gilson smirked, pulling her close by the waist. “Should I be jealous of my own son?”“That depends,” she teased, brushing her lips near his ear. “If your performance ton

“I’m so sorry, sir... it won’t happen again,” Dalila murmured, her cheeks warming.Christopher smiled faintly, standing and closing the short distance between them. “Relax,” he said softly. “It’s just a sheet of paper.”“A sheet of paper with names worth millions,” she replied under her breath. He followed her gaze, his expression hardening. Without realizing it, he was now standing close enough to catch the faint scent of soap and starch from her uniform. He sighed. “The woman I actually want is engaged to a scoundrel,” he confessed quietly.Dalila’s tone softened. “I’m sorry, Young Master Vasconcelos.”He chuckled at the formality. “You always take ages to call me by my title. Why not make it simpler: just ‘Mr. Christopher’?”Dalila straightened, startled by the suggestion. “I’d rather not...”“In my opinion, it’s still respectful,” he said gently. “And I authorize it.”That disarmed her. She lifted her head and smiled, more at ease now. “All right then... Mr. Christopher. Have a go

Rodolfo lounged au naturel on his couch, a bucket of popcorn strategically placed between his legs, his uniform crumpled nearby instead of hanging neatly in the closet. The apartment looked like the aftermath of a small tornado = clothes tossed around, plates on the coffee table, and the faint smell of body spray lingering in the air.A notification pinged. He reached for his phone lazily and narrowed his eyes.On the screen flashed a message from Claudia with a picture of her posing like a twenty-year-old seductress, her neckline plunging dangerously low.The caption read: “All this is waiting for you tonight.”Rodolfo snorted, unimpressed, and tossed the phone aside, turning his attention back to the television. The latest episode of ‘Times of Glory’ was on, showing Jake heroically aiding the protagonist in an epic battle sequence.“So that’s why people are setting cars on fire now?” he muttered. “Because of a TV show?”His phone rang again. Their actions are unacceptable.”A reporter raised her hand, her tone sharp. “Lieutenant Ribeiro, is the department treating both incidents as connected?”“Yes,” he confirmed without hesitation. “The car belonged to Christopher Vasconcelos, cousin of Glamour’s general manager, Briana Vasconcelos Ferro.
