Mark showed up at the police station.

Sergeant Ribeiro greeted him with respect. “Is this chair comfortable enough for you, Mr. Ferro?”

Mark found the kindness a bit strange. “Yes, it is, thank you very much, Sergeant. But what’s all this about?”

“I just want to make you comfortable so you can tell me everything without stress.” Ribeiro sat down across the desk.

“Something tells me that the solution to this whole mystery will come from you, the man who is so often accused of being the culprit.” Ribeiro leaned back in his chair with an interested smile.

“Can you explain why you think that, Sergeant?” Mark smiled slightly.

“I think I’ve been watching too many movies on my days off.” Ribeiro chuckled. “In the films I watch, when the hero is cornered with false accusations of a crime, he gives it his all to solve the mystery and clear his name. Isn’t that what you’re doing, Mr. Ferro?”

“You saw me hiding in my house last week,” Ma

The atmosphere inside Glamour magazine’s editorial office was chaotic, buzzing like a hornet’s nest disturbed by the latest headlines. The indictment — and the looming trial — of Lawrence Sodré had thrown the newsroom into a frenzy. Efraim, the editor-in-chief, stood in the middle of the open-plan floor like a storm in human form, barking orders and striking fear into the hearts of junior reporters.“We need to be faster than our competitors!” he bellowed, his voice slicing through the chatter. “Someone needs to get to the Temporary Detention Center now! Who's on the Sodré case?”Mary Ellen and Celia huddled together in the corner cubicle, trying to stay out of Efraim’s direct line of fire.“Weren’t you looking into the Sodré story?” Celia whispered, glancing nervously toward their boss.“I was,” Mary Ellen replied, her voice low but resolute. “But I don’t want to cover the trial. I want to find proof — real proof.”“Proof of what?” Celia asked, puzzled.“You heard what Luana said. So

Althea approached the table slowly, her gaze locked onto Claudia, who sat with a smug, defiant expression plastered across her face. Sandro and Nadir exchanged a wary glance, already bracing themselves for the inevitable storm.Althea’s voice, low and edged with quiet fury, cut through the tense silence. “What did you just call me?”Claudia didn’t flinch. “I called you a dried-up old hag, because—”SLAP!The sound echoed like thunder through the grand dining room. Claudia's head snapped sideways from the force of Althea’s open-handed strike, her right hand flailing uncontrollably into her breakfast. A full jug of chamomile tea toppled over, soaking her plate and splashing across the spread of breakfast foods. Her palm landed squarely on a stack of pancakes, sticking to the caramel syrup. She stared at it in stunned delay, and then gave an outraged cry as she flailed her sticky hand in the air.“Ugh! My nails! I just got them done!”Althea was seething. “That’s what you’re worried abou

Back to Mark’s study. Regis stood still, startled by his employer’s sudden declaration of intent to reach out to the Aurelia Parliament.Mark chuckled at the look on his assistant's face.“Hey, what’s with that expression, Regis?" he asked with playful amusement.Regis hesitated. “Lord Ferro... what you're proposing is a major step.”Mark leaned back in his chair, still smiling. “Yes. A major step toward Briana discovering the truth.”Regis moved around the desk, standing directly in front of the man he served with such unwavering loyalty. “So, she’s going to find out that you’re next in line for the throne...”“And that everything I’ve done regarding Lawrence Sodré’s nightclubs was part of my contribution,” Mark said calmly, “a glimpse of what Aurelia will look like under my rule. No room for organized crime.”Regis bowed instinctively, forgetting for a moment that Mark had not yet ascended to power. “We await that day with great anticipation, sir.”Mark gave a quick nod and smirked.

Briana sat in Sandro’s office, her gaze fixed on the screen in front of her. A video call was underway with Thales Miller, the redheaded, bespectacled writer and creator of the most talked-about series of the moment. Behind him, a well-stocked bookshelf displayed neatly arranged scripts and hardcover volumes — the visual signature of a man who lived and breathed storytelling.“Mr. Miller, do you understand the nature of our situation?” Briana asked, her voice calm but urgent.“Oh, I understand,” Thales replied with a chuckle. “Everyone wants to set the Vasconcelos family on fire.”Briana laughed softly. “I know. Things are a mess here. The only way to calm down the furious crowd is to save the show you poured your heart into.”“Mrs. Ferro,” Thales said warmly, “I’ll never forget that you backed this series when no one else would.”“I believed it would be a success — and I still do. How’s the writing going for season three?”Thales raised both hands to the camera, fingers splayed. “My
