“OK.” Briana stepped toward Luana, standing on the other side of her desk to face her. “Tell me what happened.”

“Nothing happened, I swear!” Luana said, in a feigned tone.

It seemed she was mocking Briana.

She began banging impatiently on the CPU and monitor, thinking the computer was taking too long to boot. “LET’S GO!”

“Don’t wreck the computer trying not to be frank with me,” Briana advised. “We’re not leaving here until you tell me what happened.”

Luana, not wanting to talk before, suddenly sighed and spoke like a machine gun, “You have to stop Celia from coming into your house!”

Briana stepped back, frowning.

Then she said, “I can’t do something like that.”

Luana rolled her bloodshot eyes, perplexed. “You don’t have control over who comes and goes in your house?”

“I do. That’s why I decided Celia would be invited.”

Luana gave up waiting for the computer and stood up abruptly, causing the chair to drag and slam against the wall, making a nasty noise.

Now she needed to find matching shoes.Mark stepped out of his closet still buttoning up his 100% cotton white dress shirt. He saw his indecisive wife and chuckled heartily.“Changing your mind again, darling?”“They say it’s a woman’s prerogative, but I see no advantage in it.” Briana made a face. “I’ve decided on this one.”“It’ll be perfect. Everything on you is perfect.” Mark kissed her left cheek.Briana smiled mischievously when she caught a glimpse of Mark’s toned chest. “You also look good in anything — or even without clothes...”Mark pretended to be scandalized. “My, my, Lady Ferro; what indecent behavior is this?”The Ferro couple laughed and laughed in complicity.Only time would tell if the next couple would share the

  • Chapter 750 Who Are Those Scenes Really For?

“YIKES!” Claudia screamed so loudly that she threw the script in the air.If it hadn’t been stapled, the pages would’ve scattered across the office.Sérgio smirked mischievously and gently closed the door behind him. “What’s this? Reading some steamy romance novel from your youth?”Claudia pursed her lips. Sérgio was clearly alluding to those 80s and 90s romances, implying she was old.“My mother used to read those romance paperbacks sold at newsstands.” Claudia grumbled, lying about her age. “You didn’t have to scare me like that.”Sérgio crouched down and picked up the script. “Hey, this is the script I gave your daughter! Why were you reading it like it was some kind of spicy novel?”“You have a dirty mind, young man!” Claudia scowled. “Are you sure you don’t want to film the scene where you drop your towel in front of the girl?”Sérgio’s eyes bulged — he realized Claudia was enjoying the very scenes he had criticized.“You nutcase! You’re reading this script like it’s some ‘hot’ f

Briana raised her eyebrows. “Yes, I believe it. How did he cut himself?”Luana tilted her head, a bit distracted. “Which means we’re not making love tonight...” She snapped out of it. “Er... What did you say? How did he cut himself? Well... I don’t think he told me.”Briana pressed her lips together, disappointed with her friend.“If it was a workplace accident or something more serious, it should’ve been reported to me.”“If you weren’t informed, then it must’ve been something that happened to him alone.” Luana smiled with relief. “And have you heard the big news?”“Yes. Celia declined the invitation.” Briana’s voice turned cold. “Exactly what I predicted happened.”“Brie, that proves Celia can’t be trusted. She probably wanted to crash my party just to create some scandal or embarrassment. But since she got a formal invitation, she lost interest.” Luana pounced. “That’s why you and Mark should stop treating her like a friend.”“We have no proof that Celia intended to do anything bad

We did what she asked — Celia didn’t choose to attend. Nobody can complain now.”“Speaking of which, Mark said we can host the party at his house. Problem solved,” Karl commented, his expression one of defeat instead of celebrating the good news.Luana cheered, far too self-centered to notice her fiancé wasn’t on the same page.******Celia rushed back to Jake’s dressing room as soon as she heard about the earlier commotion. She was horrified to see only the frame of his vanity — no mirror. The glass lay in shards, swept up by Jake with a broom and dustpan.“JAKE!” Celia closed the door. “Did you call the director or someone in authority to file a formal complaint?”“Who would I comp

A high-society party and I wasn’t invited?”Gilson clutched his chest, pretending to have a heart attack.“Jeez, are you trying to send me back to the hospital? And careful with the paneling on my door.”Katrina slammed the script down on her father’s desk with all the rage in the world. “This is unacceptable! Forget the damn paneling and focus on your daughter, Dad!”Claudia smiled at Gilson as if to say, ‘Now you handle it’.Gilson took a deep breath and dropped his hand from his chest.“My dear daughter, what did I tell you before about your stunts and their consequences?”Katrina shook her head. “I’m not a little girl anymore to be grounded. I don’t deserve this kind of punishment.”Gilson scratched his earlobe. “The thing is, people are hesitant to have you around because of the things you’ve said or done.”“I was a victim of that bastard Sodré, Dad!” Katrina shouted. “No one has the right to punish me for t

Mark stood up and welcomed Briana.“Hello, darling! Sit down, sit down... a pregnant woman shouldn’t be on her feet all the time.”Mark pulled out a chair, and Briana sat down, smiling.“What’s with the royal treatment?” she asked playfully.“The treatment for someone who's about to become a father for the first time,” Mark flirted.“Any news on that matter?”Mark kept a light tone. “Mary Ellen can rest easy and put the matter to bed.
