Derek exhaled deeply, his lips pursed in thoughts. He went through the location Jaden sent him and nodded slowly with a smirk.

“Let's see how it goes tonight,” he mumbled to himself, and continued with work.

After a few hours, a soft knock came on his door and before he could say anything, Maureen opened the door.

“Go through these files and conclude them, I'm going for lunch,” she said casually, slowly dragging her footsteps, as she dropped some files for him on his desk.

“Lunch? I'm going

“I will come back soon, don't ever listen to him. Derek is full of jealousy,” Maureen said to Nicole in comfort, rubbing his arms. Derek just sighed, tucking his hands in his pockets, while heading towards the car. Maureen followed him immediately and he drove off. “You should know this, Nicole is very sensitive to some words. How can you joke with something like that?” Maureen threw at him with a frown. Derek scoffed bitterly, “I'm always at the receiving end. You are making excuses for him including the part where he wants me out of the office!” Derek groaned bitterly, his hands tightened on the car steering. Maureen raised her eyebrows slightly, but still ignored his words. The meeting had already begun before they entered the board room. Derek sat next to Maureen, bowing slightly to her father who was glaring at them furiously. “The funeral ceremony of Mr Lucas is coming up tomorrow. We all need to be there, he was a true legend so we need to pay him that last respect. I kn

Derek reached home to a loud banging on Maureen's door. She was already awake and screaming from her room. “Why would you lock my door, Derek?” Maureen kept screaming, she was already breathing heavily. “Shit! How do I handle this?”Derek murmured as rushed into his room quietly, dropped all his equipment and changed to normal clothes. He rushed out and opened the door yawning in pretence. “Have you lost it? How dare you lock me inside here?” Maureen fired at him just immediately the door flagged open. She stepped furiously, pointing her fingers at him and giving him a deadly stare. “You are taking too much into your hands, who is giving you all these authority” Maureen kept shouting, heading towards the living room. “Nicole would certainly not give me such headache,” she added intentionally to make Derek angry. Derek just kept quiet, allowing her to say all she wanted. Maureen was stunned at Derek's silence. “That was a quick escape,” he thought to himself, running his hands thr

“That was quite faster than I thought!” Derek muttered quietly with a smile, as he entered the room again and found Maureen snoring in deep slumber. He adjusted her position and covered her up, he stepped out and locked her door from outside. Derek went into his room, looking at his time. “Just the right time!” He said with a smirk, his eyes darting around carefully to check his stuff. After a while he drove off as usual, playing suspenseful music in his car. On reaching his regular packing spot, he decided to change his packing position because of an unusual feeling. Instead of taking the normal usual road while walking, he entered through a lonely part. “Something seems off,” he murmured to himself quietly as he walked slowly, his eyes darting around sharply. He paused at some point, when his tension was getting higher. “I need to put myself together, before continuing this.” He muttered anxiously as he brought out a pack of cigarettes, and lighted one. He was so close to his

“What are you talking about?” Maureen asked him curiously, taking a seat beside him. “Uhm.. nothing serious actually!” He said and stood up from his seat. Nicole went into the office while Maureen followed him. On reaching Maureen's office, his eyes caught the documents he gave to Zilot yesterday. “How the fuck! Did I give him the wrong one? I checked it thoroughly,” many questions ran through his mind, as his eyes darted around sharply. He wanted to ask Maureen, but his question might sound suspicious, so he kept mute. “What exactly is happening? All these don't make sense at all,” he whispered to himself, sitting down on one of the couches. “Are you okay? You have been murmuring since you came back?” Maureen asked with concern, rubbing Nicole's shoulder. “I'm fine, just shock! I was literally the one who untied him with my bare hands. So it still feels like a shock to me,” he said coldly, his voice getting quieter. “He will be fine, I'm sure about that,” she muttered comfort

“What the fuck do you mean? What fucking rights do you have to demand for a legends body?” Zilot growled in anger, after hearing Derek's demand. “I guess you don't value your life that much,” Derek whispered dangerously walking closer to him. The chains made trembling sounds that gave Zilot goosebumps. “Hey! Hey, look I don't know what you want but, what you are asking for is quite impossible,” Zilot groaned bitterly, stretching his shoulders up for comfort. “Really? Maybe they can bury you both same time,” Derek retorted sarcastically, scoffing angrily. He was already standing in front of Zilot. He hit the chains on his legs slightly and he winced in pain. “Who the fuck are you? Okay! Fine I will do what you said. Just let me go,” Zilot begged, his voice becoming quieter as he struggled in pain. “You want to know who I am? Well, I will tell you. I am the person he hates the most!” Derek mumbled with a smirk, Zilot's chest rose with fast breaths. “I'm giving you 24hours to take

Derek went into his room, paced around shortly like he was calculating something, his lips pursed in thoughts. “I think I should relax a bit, so he could reach home, from wherever he might have gone to,” he mumbled slowly, tilting his head down. “It's going to be a long night!” He exclaimed with a nod, as he went into the bathroom to freshen up. After a while he came out to meet Maureen lying on his bed, his door wide open. “What the hell!” He mouthed in shock, not wanting to wake her up. Maureen sleep walks whenever she is sick or not comfortable, he has always been the one comforting her during those periods. Derek was surprised but waved it off since that was not her first time doing it. He used the towel on his shoulders to dry himself first before moving close to her. “I hope she doesn't wake up in the middle of the night, because I can't leave tonight's assignment!” He declares sadly, carrying her up in his arms back to her room, his towel still on his shoulders. He placed
