“What the fuck do you mean?” Nicole said, standing up from his seat.

“We just came back from the hospital a few hours ago, trust me that was the weirdest news I heard today!” Maureen said, holding Nicole by the hand.

“Shit! This is such a trap to begin with!” Ella said through clenched teeth.

“Can't something be done about it?” Nicole asked, sitting closely to Maureen. “I can take responsibility for it, let me handle it, Maureen?” Nicole muttered quietly, taking Maureen's hands.

“I wish something can be done but you know due to the public scandal, my Dad says it's best we wait till everything is settled,” she said in a pleading look to Nicole.

“Don't worry, I got you covered. Firstly I will make my Dad give his position in the office to you. And you will quietly take over everything, once it's due time, I'm all yours,” she said sweetly to Nicole, but Nicole didn't seem satisfied with the idea.

“The fuck! Nine months is too much, baby!” He hissed under his breath, but if you insist then I don't have a choice but to wait.

Ella bit her lower lips as she admired Derek from a distance. Ella's eyes had always yearned for Derek right from the moment he stepped into Maureen's life. But Derek was never an easy to get man even though Maureen never loved him.

“I wish I could have him all for myself,” she said to herself with so many random thoughts running through her mind.

“Ella?” Maureen touched her, making her snap out of her thoughts.

“Yes! Did you guys say something?” She asked, shining her eyes like she had woken up from a deep slumber.

“Are you even listening, what are you thinking?” Maureen dragged her jokingly. Ella smiled, scratching her jaw slightly.

Upon turning towards Derek, they saw him laughing with a very beautiful young lady. The lady was backing them thereby making her face non accessible.

Maureen's eyes furrowed, Nicole noticed but kept mute. “Guys! I think I need to get going, I will catch up with you guys later. I need to go rest,” Maureen said, searching for her bag.

“Hey, I can't find my bag,” she said quietly, still looking around for it.

“I don't think you came in here with your bag, I think you forgot it in the car,” Ella said confidently, knowing she just came in with her phone.

“Oh! Okay. I think I'm beginning to forget a lot. See you guys later,” she giggled and made her way to leave.

“Hey! Can I come visit you tomorrow,” Nicole asked softly, Maureen paused and thought for a while.

“Don't worry, we will talk about it on the phone,” Maureen said and walked out.

Before Maureen reached the car, the lady was already out. “Just a few minutes I stepped out, you are already having fun!” Maureen said sarcastically, opening the car door.

“The same way you had me stand here waiting for you while you had some loving moments with your soon-to-be husband,” Derek retorted sarcastically too and drove off.

Maureen's jaw dropped at the way he responded, she noticed he had totally changed since the hospital incident. He no longer begs or complains rather he gives back the energy he receives.

“You are becoming bold these days,” she dropped casually but Derek just scoffed and kept quiet.

“Look, I didn't ask you to follow me about, you can stop if you don't want,” she pointed out trying to remind him.

“Exactly, and I didn't complain. You complained first and I just answered,” he replied calmly.

“Must you reply to everything I said,” she mumbled but Derek heard her clearly.

They reached home, Maureen threw off her shoes and bags and staggered towards the shower. Derek quietly picked them up and placed them properly.

A message popped up on his phone, he knew it would be from Nicole, he had been expecting it, he opened and a quick smirk crossed his face.

“Following her around would only cause you more pain in the eyes. And guess what! The pregnancy didn't change a thing, Jokes on you,” the message read, Derek frowned but after a while he scoffed, shaking his head.

“Let's see who will cry a river soon!” He muttered to himself and walked out.

Derek's phone buzzed again but this time it was Jaden. “Can we talk tomorrow, Jaden?” He muttered tiredly as he picked up his call.

“Boss, I think I have vital information u might want to hear,” Jaden responded calmly, waiting for his next reply.

“Okay, let me hear it then,” he muttered quietly, adjusting towards the entrance.

“I saw Nicole today with some girl. I think her name is Ella and she is your wife's best friend. They were seated with Zilot in an enclosed restaurant,” he said to Derek and his jaw dropped.

Derek rushed outside the door, “Zilot?!” He exclaimed, his fist tightening. “Are you sure of what you are saying?” He questioned him strictly.

“Yes boss, I saw him clearly,” Jaden responded calmly. Zilot is the son of Derek's father's worst enemy. They fought for power and Zilot’s Father was defeated. Since then they had been sworn enemies, they equally took anyone close to them as enemies too.

Derek boiled in anger, “That means Nicole is something deeper than what we just see, how on earth did he know Zilot,” Derek muttered angrily.

“Okay, just keep up with the investigation and update me with every detail involved,” he said to Jaden and was about to end the call when Jaden paused.

“I think Ella is aware of every arrangement Nicole is making. Your wife should be careful,” he concluded and the call went dead.

“I had always warned her about her friendship with Ella but this time, I think she has to witness everything with her own eyes,” he mumbled to herself and entered back to the house.

He heard his wife answering calls and tiptoed to hear her.

“Yes, Just make arrangements for him at the company,” his wife concluded and ended the call as soon as he entered.

Derek smirked casually, turned and left without saying a word to her.

Derek paused on his footsteps to stare at her curiously. “How come you all are welcoming me like that, without any form of introduction?” he asked her eagerly, folding his hands on his chest..“Uhm… Sorry sir, but we have long been waiting for you and we are following instructions from the boss,” she replied softly, bowing slightly to him. Derek raised his eyebrows slightly, in surprise. He followed her behind, walking into the elevator. “Hold on, where are you taking me to?” He asked curiously, refusing to go further. “Sorry Sir, but the CEO's office is upstairs, and he instructed me to bring you there. Sorry my name is Reese, I'm his secretary?” She explained calmly, and Derek exhaled slowly as they continued

Before Damien could talk, Derek's eyes widened sharply. “Gravos company? Damien? Wait a minute!” He thought to himself shockingly. “That's the name of Mr Alexander's worst enemy and rival company?” He whispered slowly, adjusting himself from the couch he sat on. “Why is he calling me out of nowhere? We have never seen or talked face to face. I only heard about him from Maureen and her father!” He mumbled to himself, scratching his neck gently. “Uhm.. I guess you don't know me, or maybe you must have heard about me from your father-in-law,” he stated gently, pausing a little to make sure Derek was listening. “Mr Damien _” “Okay, fine, I can se

Don't you think so?” Mr Alexander asked Jaden curiously, glaring at the picture. “I thought the same, but he was perfectly verified. He had both identity cards and individual identification,” Jaden answered quietly, running his finger through his hair. “Something has to be done, my father can't die off like that,” he screamed in frustration, hitting his hand on the wall close to him. They all turned to glare at him desperately. “Uhm.. I mean, they can't just die off like that!” He corrected his words immediately. They called in for an emergency forensic investigator, who collected blood samples for investigation. “I need to rush home to check something!” He mumbled immediately, and stood up. He dialed Jaden's number immediately, his phone fell off his hands because it was trembling seriously. For a moment, he forgot that he and Jaden were enemies. The call rang and rang but Jaden didn't pick up. Jaden thought he was calling about his father's ambush, in fact he ended up blocking Zilot's number immediately. “You're so dumb, fuck you!” He whispered sadly, tightening his fist on his phone. He then dialed Nicole's number immediately, even though he found out that Nicole had been secretary siding with Mr Robinson. “Nicole, there is a big problem!” He spoke up immediately, Nicole picked up his call. Derek fell to his feet, his anger increasing furiously, and before Mr Robinson could make another move, his right leg was shattered with two repeated gunshots. “What the fuck! Vinco, you shit me?” He screamed, both in pain and shock, falling backwards flatly on the floor. Derek lifted up his gaze, standing slowly from the floor in bitter anger. “Oh, that was a mistake, does it hurt that bad,” he said mockingly, his lips curved into a dangerous smirk. “It shouldn't hurt so much, that's why you easily do!” He added with a dangerous smirk. “How……dare…..you?” Mr Robinson roared, his voice breaking from weakness and loss of blood. “Please take me to the hospital?” He begged, his voice fading slowly as he lay flat on the floor. Derek tilted his head down in mockery. “My son will find you,” he added again while Derek watched him in disg

You don't fucking understand and you don't bloody care!” Mr Williams cut him off immediately, his voice trembling. Derek stepped forward, and took out all their weapons and guns, then stepped backwards. Derek stepped out shortly to check on the remaining men, who stood firmly by the gates and doors. He came back sharply and stood by in case of anything. “You think you are the only one who knows how to play tricks!” Mr Reagan retorted back to him, a slow smirk spread through Mr Robinson’s face. Mr Reagan was in serious pain but that was no longer a problem for him, something bigger has blocked his way. “I trusted you p
