It was bustling around the New Haven hotel that afternoon as the media were seen everywhere. They had gotten a tip about certain celebrities that would be holding their engagement ceremony at the hotel that afternoon and had run to catch the real gist. Every news station wanted to carry it as no one would like to be left behind. This was something that would trend for a very long time. The best part was that it involved two big shot celebrities.

Every other celebrity that was associated with the two would also be attending the ceremony. The media thought that it was crazy to have an engagement this loud. How would the wedding be then? They were there for the engagement ceremony but couldn't wait for the marriage. It was going to be another bang.

The hall for the occasion had been set and beautifully adorned with the guests already waiting for the celebrants and family.

With the journalists hovering around the place, they would always rush towards any car that pulled over.

Soon, a luxury car pulled over and Lovelyn and Crystal alighted from it dressed exquisitely and beaming with smiles.

As usual, the media rushed towards them to throw questions at the mother and daughter. Even though they weren't the main targets for their questions, they could still get some handy information from the duo since they were directly related to the bride-to -be.

"Hi ma'am, what can you say about today? I'm sure you must be really excited as the mother of Lara." One of the reporters questioned her and she flashed them with a genuine smile.

"Who wouldn't be happy on a day like this. In fact, I'm over the moon. This is like a dream come true. You have no idea how long I've waited for a day like this to come." Lovelyn was elated that she'd be on the screens. It was her dream coming true.

"I'm also so excited." Crystal reminded them of her presence. She wouldn't want to miss out on the show.

The media directed their gazes to Crystal and one of them asked. "So I learned that you're Crystal, Lara's younger sister. What can you say about your sister's relationship? I'm sure she must have told you something because I believe you must be very close to her."

Crystal cast the lady an angry look. That was not the kind of question she was expecting from them. Were they expecting her to reveal some secrets about the relationship? They've got to be kidding.

"What kind of stupid question is that?" Crystal angrily said and the reporters were stunned that she found the question offensive.

"Ma'am, I didn't mean to offend you. I just wanted to know if there were some sweet things she had told you about her relationship. You know, this is entertainment news and the media were called so I don't see any reasons why some things should be hidden from us. If you didn't want the media, then this would have been made private." The reporter continued but Crystal was already wearing a smirk.

"Ask that to the couple when they arrive." She said nonchalantly and started towards the hall.

"Mom, are you still standing there? Come on, let's go." Crystal turned and said to her mom who followed her immediately.

"That one has got an attitude problem." One of the reporters mentioned.

A few minutes later, Lara and Kyle arrived in style. The reporter rushed them but some men prevented them from coming too close. Therefore, it was difficult to get to them. However, the people were relentless as they kept finding a way to come closer. Seeing that it won't be possible to get closer, they asked their questions from afar.

"Lara, you're the bride to be. Tell us how you feel about this union." One of the reporters asked, her voice a little raised.

Lara smiled at them and said. "We've invited you guys to come celebrate with us and also document the event of this day for us. You all have to take a chill pill because we're going to tell you about our love story. However, it won't be here. Just come in with us and make sure to get every detail. Make sure you don't miss out on a thing." Lara said with her face beaming with smiles as the photographers took pictures of them together.

Staring into her eyes, Kyle smiled at her and nodded. Carefully he tilted his head and plastered a kiss on her lips. "I wouldn't want to ruin your makeup." He said and they both laughed as they started towards their location leaving the media trailing behind.

A while later, the ceremony began and the couple sang each other's praises. Sang some love songs and poetic words before finally exchanging the rings while everyone applauded them. After which it was time for them to dance.

After a few minutes of dancing, the floor was made free for everyone to dance on while refreshments were served.

Lara felt pressed and stepped aside to use the restroom. As soon as she came out from the place, her colleagues cornered her.

"Avery, Molly. What are you guys doing here? Shouldn't you be enjoying the party?"

Avery laughed hard and Molly just smiled. "Did I say anything wrong? Why are you guys laughing?"

"Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! I must say that you're a smart one. You've quickly gotten hold of the most sought after celebrity. Tell me, how were you able to do it? It's not even up to a year that you started acting some important roles. Now you've taken hold of our eligible bachelor. The man we all had eyes for." Molly said, her voice laced with anger and disappointment.

Lara laughed at the girls.

"I thought you guys were only interested in personal assistants. I never knew you were also into big shot celebrities. I was expecting you to ask me for my assistant's number. I would have gladly given it to you. That's the class you belong to. You people might be top celebrities, but you don't have class." Lara fired back at them.

Angrily, the girls shared a stare and then directed their gazes back to Lara.

"You claim to be a high class lady, tell me why you got angry when we were flirting with him? It shows that you also have some skeletons in your cupboard. Swear that you were not jumping the handsome dude before Kyle picked interest in you. What am I even saying? You must have done something that made Kyle want to marry you. What's so special about you anyway. I'm sure you have something on him." Avery blurted out angrily and Lara let out a wicked chuckle.

She was about to say something when her phone rang. Staring at the screen, she recognized the caller ID and picked the call.

"It's my engagement party. Shouldn't I have it to myself without being interrupted." Lara was still speaking when the person said something that alarmed her. "What?"

Nala, the chief waiter, was standing before him , glaring daggers at him.“You're not allowed to use your phone when you're still working. Unless it is the close of work or during your lunch break which is not yet time.”Nala stretched out her hands and added. "Hand over the phone, now.”She wanted to confiscate Prince's phone for breaking the rules.Prince, on the other hand, did not find it funny. He was not going to hand over the phone and would stand his ground. Moreover, his phone was a very expensive type and Nala would raise brows at him if she saw it. The phone was worth more than her salary of over six months.“Why should I hand over my phone?" He retorted, furrowing his brows."Because you broke the rules. I told you earlier that laziness is not tolerated. You should be glad that it wasn't the manager who caught you answering calls during work hours." “I'm not going to hand over my phone for anything. Moreover, I'm still new here and yet to know all your rules.”Prince's re

Prince followed behind without a word as the man began to walk away. When they got to his office, he gave Prince one last glare before asking furiously.“Who are you and what are you doing here? Who even employed you in this establishment?”Speechless, Prince only stared at the man for a moment before giving a response. “I'm sorry for not reporting earlier. It's just that Nala didn't let me. She had asked me to get to work immediately and report to you later." The manager didn't comment on Prince's words. He just glared at him briefly before asking. "What's your name?”"My name is Prince." He replied immediately and earned himself another glare.“Don't you have a surname?" “I do." Prince quickly recalled the new surname George had given to him. The name was there with the man.His CV was right before the man and he could see all the details.“Then tell me your surname so I can be sure that you're not an imposter." The man muttered coldly.“My name is Prince David, Sir.” He replied t

Lara just stared dumbfounded at the messages on her phone. It didn't sound like it was Kyle who wrote the words. Her Kyle was loving and caring to her but the Kyle she was reading his message was now heartless and cold. He sounded like they were total strangers, or enemies rather.Lara tried to stop herself from shedding tears but she could not. And the next second, the tears began to drop. She had to quickly clean her eyes and pretended to be asleep when she saw her mother wake up.About an hour later, the doctor came to check up on her. She was going to be discharged the next morning and she could not wait to leave the hospital.“This place sucks." She muttered to herself as soon as the doctor was out of their sight.“I can't wait to leave this hospital." Lara hated the hospital just like her sister, Crystal. Unfortunately for her, she had no choice but to stay there for days since she was in a critical situation when she was brought in.“Of course, you'll be out of here by tomorrow

“You don't have to address me like that, since we're not at work. You can just address me with my first name.” George said to the lady in a calm voice and a glint in his eyes. With her face lowered, Liliane pursed her lips and nodded before replying. “Ok. George.”She lifted her face and casted a glance at Prince who seemed engrossed in what he was doing. She then stared briefly at George while smiling and added. "See you tomorrow evening then.”"I look forward to the dinner. I'll call you.”While Liliane walked out of the hall, George stared intently at her retreating figure while smiling.Prince soon showed up before his face and with a mischievous grin on his face, he said to George. “She's already left and you're still staring. Really?”George quickly turned his gaze to Prince before replying. "Have I been blind all this time? How come I'm just realizing such a beautiful young lady.”Prince gave him a dirty look. "What's that supposed to mean?” He inquired while still glaring at G

“What! Are you saying that my baby is gone?" Lara asked while forcing herself to sit up.She was still in pain but didn't think of it at that time. All she cared about was her baby and she still could not comprehend what her mother just told her.“I didn't quite get you, Mom. Repeat what you just said.”Lovelyn didn't say any more words. She only stared sadly at her daughter. "I'm so sorry.” She finally muttered another apology."Where is Kyle? He's supposed to be here with me. It was all his fault that I lost our baby." Lara was expecting that Kyle would feel pity on her if he saw how much pain she was going through. He might as well think again about ending their relationship and take her back.Unfortunately, she was wrong. Kyle had just got an opportunity to ditch her completely. With the baby out of the way, they won't have anything connecting them again.Lovelyn reached out and patted her cheeks a few times before giving a response. “Kyle was here earlier but he already left. “Doctor, how's my daughter and her baby? I hope they're both alright?" The doctor kept a long face and shook his head a few times before replying to them.“I'm sorry, Ma'am. We lost the baby. Fortunately, your daughter is out of danger now.”When Kyle heard that the baby did not make it, he felt really bad about it. Even though he claimed to get a DNA test done after the baby was born, he still believed that the baby was his.He knew that there was more than ninety percent chances that the baby was his. However, he said those hurtful words to Lara because he was angry. He wanted to move on from the breakup and also wanted her to do so.They'd just make plans on co-parenting after the baby was born and confirmed to be his.“Did you say that she lost the baby?” Lovelyn stepped forward and held onto the doctor's arm."Doctor, are you telling the truth?
