His Influence

"Have you seen a guy this handsome? Look over there and see that beauty. That guy is the cutest I've ever met and he's got the body." Molly was lusting after Prince and biting her lower lip seductively. She patted Avery's hand who immediately agreed with her.

"Yeah, you're right. Even though he's just Lara's PA, I'm going to jump him. I don't care about his status because he sure looks like one who would give me the satisfaction I want. I can just pay him off afterwards." 

Avery was one to hit the nail on the head and never minces words. Being the one with more action, she made her move and went over to the place where the couple sat with Molly following behind. Pulling out a chair, Avery settled in it and placed her script by the side, her eyes fixated on Prince. The man, on the other hand, was uncomfortable with the gaze on him. Turning his face, he directed his gaze elsewhere. They were at a movie location and he was just doing his job as Lara's PA. Yeah, Lara was his wife and a big shot movie star and Prince was his husband and personal assistant.

"Hi handsome." Avery winked at Prince when he stole a glance at her. However, her eyes met with Lara's glare as she lifted her face that was dug into her script.

"Hey Lara. I hope you don't mind if I borrow your assistant. I think he'd come in handy after the day's shoot. He can just help calm off the stress."

"I know right?" Molly backed up her friend's words. Tilting her head to reach Avery's ear, she whispered. "I think a threesome would be great."

Avery's eyes flashed with so much delight as she covered her mouth with her left hand. 

"Molly, You are the worst to think of such a thing. I think you're even worse than I am. My thoughts hadn't even gone in that direction. Wow! Avery was stunned about the suggestion her friend just made. It was damn crazy.

"Hey losers." Lara's words jolted her colleagues out of their lustful thoughts.

Taken aback by the name calling, Avery tried to retort but Lara gave her no chance. "Shouldn't you focus on getting your job done rather than flirting with the man. If you can't keep it in your pants, then go flirt elsewhere because my assistant is off limits. Even if he was interested, then he won't settle for cheap b*tches like you who have no class and self control." Lara blurted out leaving the girls perplexed and speechless.

Angrily, she stood up from her seat and commanded. "Come on Prince, let's get out of here."

"Why is she taking it too personal? The guy is an adult and can decline on his own if he isn't interested. Or is there something we're missing out here?" Avery said as she glanced at her friend who made a confusing face.

"I bet there's something going on between those two. He doesn't give Lara that PA look. I'm sure she must be jumping on him and acting like a saint. That girl is so stupid."

Lara never introduced Prince as her husband which was why her colleagues were flirting with him. She was somewhat ashamed of him.

It was Prince's birthday and six months had already passed. Lara decided to make it special for him. Her mother had been singing it in her head to divorce Prince because they were never on the same level. However, Lara kept clinging to her husband because she thought he was her lucky charm. Her career had kicked off the moment she and her husband signed their marriage license some eight months ago. 

Lara had to make Prince stop working at the restaurant and become her personal assistant. Lovelyn and Crystal had always been against her marriage and would stop at nothing to see them divorced.

"Prince, where are you? Hurry up and come home. I need you to do something for me." Lara said to her husband as soon as he picked the call. The latter had gone to the grocery shops to get some things for the house. He was happy that Lara didn't have any movie shoot that day which happened to be his birthday. However, Prince was not happy that Lara forgot to wish him a happy birthday. Does she even remember that it was his birthday?

At the grocery shop, Prince had two bags full of groceries which he dropped on the ground to pick his call. As the call came to an end, he put his phone into his trousers pocket and started outside the shop where he hailed a taxi. After ten minutes, Prince stood before the Villa which was their new abode. Lara had gotten the house some months after her career kicked off. She moved in with her mother and sister, including Prince. Their old home was built by their late father and not quite big to Lara's taste. Moreover, it was already so worn out and needed renovation.

However, when Lara's wealth began to grow, she got a better house and abandoned their family home.

As Prince started towards the house, it was unusually quiet and he thought that they must have gone out. 'But Lara just called me. Did she go out with her mother?' Prince was confused.

Still engrossed in deep thoughts, he opened the door and met with a shocker. "Happy birthday." 

Prince was stunned to see his mother in law and sister in law wishing him a happy birthday. They even joined forces with his wife to surprise him.

'Are pigs flying?' He thought to himself. If he was close to the window, he would have checked it to see for himself. What had gotten into his in-laws, they even wished him a happy birthday. It really came as a shock. However, they were acting suspiciously but Prince didn't mind that. He was happy that his wife still regarded him.

Still in a daze, Lara stepped forward and embraced him. "Happy birthday to you."

From the side of his eyes, he could see his in-laws exchanging glances among themselves. From the look of things, they had no gift to present to him. 

Prince couldn't care less.

Stretching her hand to him, Lara gave him her birthday present. "Open it." She said,

"Now?"

Lara nodded her head. "Open it." She repeated and made a gesture with her hand.

Prince was without a word.

Swiftly, he opened the box and saw a pregnancy test result and his mouth fell apart. "I'm going to be a father." Prince was so elated. He tried to hug Lara but she drew backwards causing him to be perplexed.

"Why are you refusing my hug?" Prince gave her a puzzled look and directed his gaze to his in-laws who were standing aside and glaring at him. Prince knew that they were up to no good.

He was still in his perplexed state when Lara snatched the paper from his hands. "Actually, the pregnancy test does not belong to you. It belongs to him?" Lara said with a smirk on her face as she pointed to someone who was approaching from the door.
