Vicky felt his touch send an electric shock through her. She hid her blush and took her hands sharply from his grip.

“It’s fine,” she said, placing it in her pocket. He sat at the corner of the room, opening a bottle of water and she approached the girls.

“Hey,” she drew a stool closer and sat before them. “How are you all coping?”

“My name is Maria,” the mother figure among them said, drawing closer to Vicky.

“I heard all that happened, Maria. It is fine, you can tell me anything. My name is Vicky. I work with Steven,” Vicky pointed at Steven, who gave them a wave.

“He is a very good guy,” Maria smiled and the others agreed. “He wanted to risk his life for us. I have never seen anyone who would do that. It is very rare to find, I swear. All I find is a bunch of selfish humans. He ignored the whole inconvenience and fought hard for us.”

Vicky wasn’t surprised.

“Even though he doesn’t admit it, I know he is good inside,” she said.
