“Sir Sawyer,” the chairman of a trillion dollar company, who never bowed his head to anyone, now pleaded on the phone. “Please save my daughter.”
“I’m sorry for what happened, Mr. Breadwell,” Sawyer’s voice contained a hint of pity as his own sister was also in a life-and-death state. “From what you described, your daughter’s necrosis isn’t yet at a stage where attempting to save her could make her situation worse.”
“T-Thank you! I’ve consulted thousands of doctors and healers, but they all gave up on her. I couldn’t contact your mother, so I only have you!” He pleaded with his heart and soul, surprising Sawyer as to how shockingly humble this trillionaire was behaving. “I will give you everything I have in this world! Please help my daughter!”
“You don’t have to beg me. I’ll gather the resources and visit you in a week,” Sawyer responded, making the other person feel extremely happy.
“If you give me the list, I can hire capable super-soldiers to acquire all the ingredients—”
“They might get fooled by the fake ingredients, so let me handle it,” Sawyer ended the call and looked to his left where he saw a beautiful brunette sleeping with her mouth slightly open.
Her ripe pink lips held great beauty, but what caught his attention was the tiny mole under the corner of the lips.
“Sasha, was it? Her complexion looks somewhat better now.
“That mole…” Sawyer moved his head closer to her face. “It grew bigger during the night. Her aura will attract danger. But.. is she the one who will bring a bright light to my life?”
A terrible, screechy voice reverberated in the wind.
Sasha’s left arm raised halfway diagonally and was pulled by a dark foggy creature, as if her soul was getting rooted out in reality.
“Talk about the devil… Fuck off,” Sawyer uttered, and his words carried enough power to tremble the foggy being, making it immediately rush through the wind and flee through the half-open window.
Sasha opened her eyes at once as if she had a terrible dream.
“What a nasty dream?” she touched her head, her heart still thudding against her chest. “I thought I was going to die.”
“You would have died if I hadn’t chased the spectre away,” a soothing voice reached her ears.
“Mm?” Sasha’s eyes spotted a bloke handsome as a horse resting his head on her bra-clad chest.
“EYAAHH!” she screamed and pushed him off herself in a jiffy, thanks to the sudden rush of adrenaline.
She quickly got off the bed, covering herself with the bedsheet. “Who the hell are you? How did you get into my room?”
“I’m the guy you pulled into your bed last night,” he said, showering a sharp but sweet smile. “Don’t you remember it?”
“N-No way…” Her heart sank into her stomach.
She remembered going to the party last night. Did she bring this guy home?
Just then, someone knocked on the door.
“Open the door, Sasha,” a deep, hoarse voice came from the other side.
It was Sasha’s father, David.
Did he hear her scream and come to check on her?
“Dad,” she quickly said, concealing the fear in her voice as much as possible. “I need a minute.”
“Open the door. I need to talk… with the ‘two’ of you.”
Sasha’s heart started racing like a cat left on a horse track. She felt like scratching her own face. (He knows! How could I have made such a stupid mistake?! I’m fucked now!)
“Give me five minutes. I’ll come downstairs,” Sasha replied.
She could then hear her dad’s footsteps fading away.
But her heartbeat didn’t slow down the least bit.
Sasha looked at the guy who was smiling at her. “What? Do you find my situation amusing?”
“Ahem, no, I just think you should get clothed first,” Sawyer remarked while his eyes got a good look at her slender curvy figure.
Blood rushed to Sasha’s face, as she was only wearing a bra and panties now.
Though she was covering herself with the blanket, she felt embarrassed.
“Turn around,” she uttered in a cold, aggressive tone as though she wanted to pluck his eyes out.
“Whoa, so scary,” Sawyer didn’t object and turned around. “But I can still imagine your body in my mind, you know.”
“Ugh,” Sasha quickly put the clothes on. “I don’t think I I lost my virginity to some random, rude guy! There’s no way…”
Though she mumbled, Sawyer heard those words, and his eyes slightly widened.
“Um, is it possible for us to date?” Sawyer asked expectantly. “If everything works out, then we might even get married.”
“Hmph,” Sasha glared at him, her pretty face warping in anger. “A poor guy like you won’t even be able to afford my sandals with your salary!”
“You don’t know me, so why do you assume I’m poor?” he calmly asked without looking back.
“I don’t have to know you as I can’t smell any cologne from you,” she harrumphed. “You are so poor you can’t even afford perfume. You’re wearing a plain T-shirt that reads Empyrean. I bet you bought it for two dollars roadside. And you are using this chance to marry me who’s from a wealthy family? Your tricks won’t work on me, and they will definitely not work on my family members! In fact, my parents must already be planning to destroy you.”
“I’m not that easy to destroy, so don’t worry,” he responded in an assured tone, flashing his teeth as he glanced over his shoulder.
“I’m not worried about you!” she barked. “But you should get out through that window if you want to live!”
Sawyer turned around. “I didn’t bring you into this room through that window. I came through that door, and I’m leaving the same way.”
Sawyer was walking toward the door.
“Wait!” She scuttled over and put her hand on his shoulder from behind.
He caught her hand and pulled her to his front.
Her back slammed against the door, but it didn’t hurt.
“Do you want to get to know me more?” He held her by the shoulders and pulled her closer. “I don’t mind starting things off with a morning kiss…” He closed his eyes and brought his lips closer.
“Shut your damn trap!” Her knee knocked his jewels like lightning.
Sawyer’s face warped into a warthog as indescribable pain took over. “You… How could you…”
“If you die, then your poor blood will be on my hands. I don’t want that,” Sasha dragged him by his shirt collar and pushed him out through the window.
Sawyer fell into the bush below.
Sasha wiped the sweat off her blow, then closed the window and quickly checked her hair in the mirror.
“It’s impossible to preserve my clean image in the family after all this. Dad is definitely going to force me to marry that pervy trash Ashton now.”
With a great deal of nervousness surging through her soul, she opened the door and walked out of the room.
As she climbed down the stairs and looked at her family members, who were watching from the royal-esque dining table and darting daggers at her, she felt the presence of someone.
Sasha looked to her left.
Her eyes swelled through the sockets seeing Sawyer standing next to her.
Flashing a manful grin, he peered into her eyes, and his fingers spiritedly wrapped around her tapered waist. “How can you kick my family jewels, babe? Even though I’m rich and powerful, who would marry me if I become impotent? Would you take responsibility for your actions?”
“Y-You!” Sasha’s face turned beet-red from the loss of face in front of her family members who also seemed frozen in fury.

At Brilliant Guild headquarters.“The unending greed of the zombies was conquered by a single stroke of the sword…” Fredrick’s son, Mike, was talking to the guild members while they were repairing the damaged infrastructure.“You’re surely exaggerating things, Young Master Mike.”“I heard there were thousands of zombies. How can a single swing of a sword destroy all of them?”“Even if our entire guild fights those monsters, we will suffer heavy losses against such numbers!”“Heh,” Mike snorted. “If you don’t believe me, that’s your own problem. I’m just telling you guys what my dad told me.”“So, who’s the guy who saved the city?”“It’s the Empyrean,” Mike said.“What? But you said that the zombies were killed by a sword user. The Empyrean isn’t known to use a sword!”“Huh! Did the Empyrean ever tell you that he can’t use a sword?” Mike blurted. “Most of the supersoldiers don't even know what kind of powers he has. So, how can you assume that he can’t use a sword?”At the Mayor's offi

They’ll take these criminals to Lode Prison.”Just the

Sawyer turned around and looked at his chest. There was a minor cut, but it was healing slowly but surely. A normal attack would have already healed, but because of Richie’s black energy, it was taking time.Sawyer made a phone call to Helia and told her about Richie, which quite surprised her.She assured him that she’d deliver Richie’s corpse to SSL headquarters and also appreciated Sawyer for his effort.“It’s not over yet,” Sawyer told her. “I think Richie was planning something big in this city. With him gone now, all the criminals under him will run rampant. I’ll have to deal with them before they take people’s lives.”“I will call some personnel in Summit city and warn them in your name,” Helia replied.“That will help,” Sawyer replied and then ended the phone call. “Let me clean up this city as much as I can.”He flew and shot through the barrier and stopped high in the air.His eyes scanned all around the city, for he was able to view the whole city from high in the sky.Ther

Sawyer entered the building. There were eight maids standing in the hall, four on either side. He used the rope-like cloth to come down and land in front of Sawyer.Sawyer didn’t move an inch.“You’re better than I thought,” Richie smiled. “You’ll make a fine addition to my army.”“I did the right thing by coming to this city before going to the Forest of Nightmares,” Sawyer replied, his hands in his pockets. “It’d make things easier for me if I send your body to SSL.”“SSL?” Richie’s expression changed. “You’re part of that fucking organization? Then I’m going to have to kill you in the most painful way before reviving you into a zombie.”He suddenly leaped back and waved his arms, releasing branches of clothes to fly and wrap all around Sawyer. But then, all of that cloth was ripped to shreds.Sawyer didn’t even mo

Your sister?”“Yeah,” Noelle scratched her cheek. “Actually, my sister was listening to our whole conversation at the hotel. I know it was unprofessional, but I didn’t know your identity, so I had to be careful.”Sawyer’s expression slightly changed. “I see.
