The landscape gradually opened into a vast expanse, and before them stood a city that seemed torn from a dream.Towering skyscrapers of shimmering glass and metal spiraled into the sky, their surfaces alive with light, holograms flickering like distant stars.Roads floated above the ground, lined with vehicles that glided silently, leaving trails of luminescent energy in their wake. He felt guilty immediately. It hit him like a physical blow. His chest tightened, breath breaking as the reality of what he’d done caught up all at once.He cried, quiet at first, then harder, and wrapped his arms around Adams, holding him as if letting go would shatter them both.“I’m here,” he choked out, burying his face into Adams’s shoulder. “I’m here.”Adams didn’t pull away. Baxter emerged slowly, his body now fully physical, no longer data. His super suit armor was completely broken and destroyed. His eyes burned with cold, and desperate intelligence. Baxter laughed, the sound glitching, and overlapping with itself. “And you,” he replied, “look like a problem that never should’ve been allowed to finish compiling.” Aleric cracked his neck. “Funny. That’s what they said about me back home too.” The void rippled. From the fragments of Archive Prime, something stirred. Another presence again. Lorenzo’s voice echoed faintly... not from one place, but from everywhere the system had ever recorded failure. “
