Chapter 1

Dakota held out flowers to a woman. "Will you accept me?"

The woman's eyes widened perfectly. "What are you doing?" She clenched her hands tightly together, holding back her embarrassment. "This is so embarrassing."

Dakota confessed his feelings to a woman he loved in front of a crowd. He had already been rejected by her 100 times. The woman's name was Ghea. Despite the constant rejections, Dakota still didn't want to give up.

Everyone watching them laughed. "That crazy guy wants to confess his love to Ghea again? He will definitely get rejected again!"

"Still won't give up even though he's been rejected repeatedly!" The voices of the other students continued to ring out with laughter, making Ghea feel even more embarrassed.

Ghea's friends gently nudged her arm. "Come on, just accept her. He's tried so hard that it doesn't matter that he's confessed his love to you hundreds of times."

Laughing, they deliberately teased Ghea. "Yes, Ghea. Just accept it! He's already prepared that beautiful bouquet of flowers."

Ghea's friends laughed even harder. They weren't encouraging Ghea to accept Dakota's love. They were mocking Ghea.

Ghea felt annoyed by their words. She was really embarrassed by what Dakota had done. "Noisy!"

They continued to laugh, then openly showed their dislike towards Dakota. "Hurry up, we don't have much time. Aren't we all going to the cafe? We're hungry too."

Ghea was getting annoyed. She looked at Dakota with an angry gaze. Arrogantly, Ghea threw the bouquet of flowers in Dakota's hand. "I don't want to!"

Dakota was surprised by what Ghea did. For the hundredth time, she was rejected by that woman. She felt heartbroken again.

The other students laughed and mocked Dakota. "Only a fool would accept her love!"

More laughter filled the front yard of the school. "What an insane man! I don't know how many thousands of times he's been like that."

The atmosphere became more chaotic with the laughter of the students. They all mocked Dakota. Until a man and his friends came up to Dakota with a loud laugh.

The man's name was Bruno. As soon as he arrived, he immediately embraced Ghea. "Wow, what is it this time?"

Ghea folded her hands before her chest as she looked away, feeling sick of seeing Dakota. "He confessed his love to me again."

The man ruffled his waist in a very expensive branded jacket and clothes. "Congratulations, Dakota. I don't know how many hundred times you've been rejected by Ghea. You're a very ignorant person, aren't you?

The male friends circled around Dakota while pushing Dakota's back several times. "Loser! You should realize who you are. You don't deserve to be with Ghea! You poor kid!"

They continued to laugh mockingly at Dakota. The man chuckled and shook his head. "The poor guy's an idiot. What's this?" The man kicked Dakota's bouquet of flowers that had been half destroyed. "Cheap flowers! Just like the lowlife who owns them!"

Ghea was very embarrassed to hear that. Ghea's eyes were very sharp. The woman exhaled harshly while stomping her foot in front of Dakota. "I'm already so tired of getting shot by you hundreds of times. Can't you stop? Don't you look in the mirror and see who you are?"

Ghea's friends chuckled. They whispered in a voice Dakota could still hear while gently nudging Ghea's shoulder. "It's useless to tell him to look in the mirror. He won't even notice, Ghea!"

"Does he have a mirror at home?" Ghea's friends laughed even harder, mocking Dakota.

Ghea snorted in annoyance. She pointed her index finger right at Dakota's face. "I'm telling you. You're just an ordinary student with no money and I don't want to live in misery if I become your lover. What are you going to give me?" She squinted at Dakota while folding her arms in front of her chest. "You can even go to college here because you got a scholarship."

Dakota was again surprised by Ghea's words. He could only bow his head with a muddled feeling. He didn't need Ghea to remind him, he already knew and realized who he was. He was indeed a poor person with nothing, but he didn't expect the woman he loved to say such harsh words. Even though this was not the first time Ghea had behaved like that.

Bruno grinned at the look on Dakota's face as she held back her shame and anger. Dakota's disappointment was obvious. "A man like you wants Ghea's love? You idiot! Ghea will never be happy with you!"

Ghea bent her body slightly, snorting at Dakota. "An incapable person like you shouldn't profess love to me. You should be more self-aware that our statuses are different!"

Ghea was being very arrogant. In reality, Ghea was not a woman from a wealthy family. She was from a mediocre family. Ghea pushed Dakota's body, causing him to fall to the ground. Also, Ghea stepped on the bouquet of flowers Dakota gave until some petals were scattered on the roadblock. It was a mess.

Everyone who witnessed the incident burst out laughing as if satisfied to see the suffering experienced by Dakota. "What a stupid guy, pretending to be Ghea's boyfriend!"

Ghea's friends also laughed and took her hand. "Come on, we should just leave here. We don't want to get close to a guy like him!" They led Ghea away from Dakota.

Bruno wrapped his arms around Ghea's waist intimately. "Come on, I'll treat you all."

Ghea's jaw hardened. She was really fed up and annoyed with Dakota. Finally, she went with them, leaving Dakota in the middle of everyone's laughter. So did all the students who were watching her.

Some of them even threw trash and leaves at Dakota. "You trash! Disgraceful! You don't know yourself!"

Dakota rubbed his face roughly. He was utterly heartbroken. Dakota muttered, swearing a little. "Asshole. Why is this happening again!"

Dakota quickly left there with a chaotic feeling. His heart was racing with labored breathing. Sadness, shame, anger, annoyance, all mixed together. Ghea had stepped on his pride too much this time.

The horn blared several times behind Dakota. "Get out of the way!"

Dakota, who wasn't paying attention to the road, had suddenly exceeded the sidewalk, blocking the truck that couldn't brake. So the collision happened. Dakota's body flew high, bouncing several meters away from the shoulder of the road until he fell on the asphalt with his head covered in blood.
