"Master, please stop pacing and worrying. You’ll only give yourself high blood pressure."

In the doctor’s office, the air was heavy and grim. The doctor, an elderly man with sharp features and a full head of white hair, kept pacing back and forth, one hand clasped behind his back. A single glance at him was enough to tell what mood he was in.

Seated in front of the desk was a young, strikingly beautiful lady. Her beauty was the kind that carried a timeless, traditional charm. Worry clouded her eyes as she watched her master. She feared that if he kept this up, he would only harm himself. He had trained her since she was a child—losing him to anything was unthinkable.

At her words, the doctor, Walter Hayes, paused briefly and turned toward her. He let out a sharp sigh, his voice heavy and somber. "How can I stop pacing and worrying when my patients are downstairs demanding treatment, and there’s nothing I can do? Tell me, how?"

"Ah!" At Martha's words, Walter suddenly let out a sharp yelp and clutched his chest, his feet swaying as if he wanted to fall."Master!""Master Hayes!" Clara and Martha darted to his side, each grabbing an arm. The three of them staggered awkwardly before they managed to steady him."Master, what’s wrong? Are you alright?" Clara’s voice trembled, her eyes wide with worry.Walter groaned, the sound deep and pained. Just as Martha finished speaking, he had abruptly felt a sharp pain in his heart as if he were pinched. His worst fear had come true. How could he possibly refund the patients when he had no money? The hospital’s funds were already dried up. The thought alone sent a pounding ache through his head."I’m fine," he muttered weakly, brushing Clara and Martha off. "We can’t keep hiding up here. We need to go downstairs.""But if we go without a solution, those patients will tear us apart," Clara protested. She thought it was a terrible idea. If it were up to her, they’d stay

“We’ve been standing here for hours! Where’s the old man—the doctor? You can’t keep stalling us like this!”“Exactly! This is ridiculous! For a hospital that claims to stand for virtue and kindness, this is nothing close to what you preach! We need treatment!”“We need help! Right now!”At Hillside Medical Center, located on the northern outskirts of Westridge, the entire place was in disarray. The reception area had turned into a storm of complaints and frustration. Patients were shouting furiously at the lone clerk behind the front desk.Normally, the clerk would be seated calmly behind the counter. But not today. She stood stiff, too anxious to rest, sweat dripping down her face and soaking her uniform, which clung tightly to her body like a second skin. She let out a shaky breath as she tried to reason with them. “Please, dear patients, return to your rooms. The doctor will be with you all shortly. Just a little more patience, I beg you. He’s coming, I promise!” As she spoke, she

Barely thirty minutes later, Sheila pulled up in front of the grand gates of Robin’s villa. As she put the car in park, her gaze bounced between the address on her phone and the massive mansion before her. Her eyes widened, jaw slack in pure disbelief. There was no way this was Robin’s home. During the drive over, the moment she’d turned onto the private road, doubt had crept in. She told herself it couldn’t be that 'villa.' Maybe it was a house beside it, but definitely not it. But now that she was parked right in front of it, with her phone still confirming the location, she was floored. This was the place. The address matched perfectly. She couldn't help but wonder: was Robin messing with her? There was no way he lived here, right?Still in shock, she picked up her phone and quickly dialed his number. He picked up on the second ring. "Robin," she glanced at the mansion once more, "are you sure you didn’t make a mistake with the address?”“A mistake with the address? Aren’t you th

RING! RING! The sound of Robin's ringing tone cut through the air. Robin groaned, a frown creasing his brows. Couldn't a man even get a good night's sleep these days? Yesterday, it had been Katherine, and now today—who was it this time? He didn’t even bother checking. The previous day had worn him out completely, and he’d promised himself that today would be spent sleeping. But guess the day had other plans. How annoying! With a lazy stretch, he reached for his phone on the nightstand, swiped to answer, and pressed it to his ear. “Hello?” “Hi, Robin,” came Sheila’s soft voice through the speaker. Robin’s eyes snapped open. “Sheila?” he asked, surprised. He couldn't remember giving her his number. And why was she calling him this early? His gaze flickered to the clock. Well, technically it wasn’t that early, it was already ten, but still... Sheila giggled lightly. “Yes, it’s me. Surprised I called even though you hadn't given me your number?” she teased gentl

WHOOSH! A sharp gust of wind suddenly swept through the sanctuary. In the blink of an eye, Roman was yanked off his feet by an invisible force and dragged straight to Elira. A dark aura swirled around her, pulsing with menacing energy. She curled her fingers slightly, and Roman immediately felt an invisible grip wrap around his throat. His eyes bulged, rolling back slightly, his face flushing a deep red as he coughed violently. "Who are you?" Elira asked, her voice low and threatening, murderous intent radiating off her. "Are you the one who killed Eryndor?" That was more like a rhetorical question though as she didn't feel any energy emanating from him, and from the looks of it, he wasn’t someone capable of such a feat. The person who’d killed Eryndor wouldn’t be caught in a chokehold this easily. Still, she asked, just in case. He could have helped. And to her, an accomplice was just as guilty. At the thought, her fist clenched tighter. "Ugh!" Roman gasped, his skin erupting
