The Talking Wolf
Emrys heard the wolf speak clearly, making his fear intensify. Was this a kind of demon?! It was likely similar to the legendary forest creatures, monsters kept by sorcerers, black mages, or high-level demons. Or it could be a stray monster, or worse, the king of this place, meaning he had no escape, no matter what he did. "P-please. Don't kill me." The young man whispered repeatedly. Even though he knew his plea had no chance of working on this ferocious monster, he still tried. After a few minutes of the monster not moving him, he tried to open his eyes. He looked at the wolf lying there. He carefully stood up and silently took a step to get a better look at it, and he immediately understood why the monster couldn't kill him right now. On the wolf's chest, blood flowed continuously. It had a large wound, seemingly a claw from a wolf of its kind, leaving it injured. The wolf was unconscious. It snored loudly, and leaves flew whenever it exhaled through its nose. Emrys observed it for a moment, and he felt a sense of relief. He was lucky. If the wolf wasn't in this state, he would likely be torn to shreds right now. Slowly, he turned around and decided to leave, to return to the normal path. He wouldn't return to his clan, but would continue on to the White Temple Institute. He had to pursue his dream of becoming a student at the Institute, and in his own way. He would take revenge on those who took advantage of his defenseless ignorance. But before he could get far, the monster groaned. Emrys froze and stopped walking. He slowly turned to the wolf, and his soul almost leaped out of his body in shock. How could it be? The wolf was staring at him. It was so cold and terrifying that Emrys swallowed nervously, not knowing whether to continue or pretend to be a tree where he stood forever. "Help me..." Emrys was surprised at how it could speak in a language he understood. According to the books he had read, monsters like this used a different kind of language. No one could understand them except their own kind and the person who created them, but not everyone who brought them to life knew that language, so what was happening now was truly strange to Emrys. "Help me..." Again, the monster spoke in a deep, weak voice. Then, it slowly closed its eyes and fell back asleep. Emrys stood there for a few minutes, dazed. He didn't know whether to help it, and if he did, how and why would he do that? Until he finally decided to leave, but again, he heard the monster's groan. It sounded like a creature's groan that desperately needed help, but it was a monster, so he was also afraid. "Ugh! Whatever!" Of all the confusing and annoying situations piling up in his mind, he decided to explore the forest. He wandered around for an hour until he found all the ingredients he could use to make medicine and then returned to the secluded part of the forest where the dying monster lay. Using the little fire magic Emrys had learned as a Rat Level Cultivator, he created a very small fire with ten minutes of concentration and heated the herbs using a black, old cauldron he had found while wandering earlier. "You're lucky. Because if I wasn't kind, I wouldn't help you here." Emrys stood facing the monster, carefully applying the crushed herbs around its large wound, while waiting for the herbs he was heating to boil on the side. "You're also lucky I found a clean stream nearby. And the cauldron. Ugh. What am I doing? Whatever! Don't you dare eat me when you get better, okay?" He talked to it, but it didn't speak back because it was sleeping very deeply. It wasn't dead yet because he could still hear its weak breathing. "Just a moment and..." The water boiled, and the medicine was ready. Emrys' smile widened because of that. "Here it is!" Even he was confused about why he was so happy to realize that the medicine was ready. He wasn't even sure if he wouldn't be harmed after healing the wolf. He woke the wolf, and while holding the hot cauldron full of medicine, he poured it into the monster's mouth. It groaned and obviously got burned, but Emrys just smiled. "Elder Morem said this medicine is more effective for wounds if you drink it while it's still hot." And it didn't take long. After only half an hour, the wolf's wound stopped bleeding. And thanks to the crushed herbs he had applied, the wound was no longer swollen and was ready to heal with enough time to rest. Emrys sat in front of the wolf's mouth, smiling and folding his arms. He was happy, but also tired. But the important thing was, he had saved a life for the first time. He was content with that. When the wolf opened its eyes, it immediately felt the strength returning to its body. It looked at Emrys and smiled, seemingly bowing in front of the young man. "Thank you. Young man." "My name is Emrys." "Emrys. As a thank you for your kindness, accept my gift in exchange for my life." Really? A gift? Emrys thought he would be killed by the wolf as soon as it could move. The reason he stayed there was that he just wanted to hear some answers from this monster. But of course, he could only ask those questions if it didn't bite him on the head first. And he was grateful that wasn't happening, instead, he received a gift he never thought possible.Latest Chapter
Dining Hall Castle
As instructed, he went straight to the bathroom and took a bath. He threw away his old, tattered clothes. He also felt relieved after soaking his body in the cold water for over ten minutes. The undergarment was white. While the outer garment was a black coat. It was buttoned up to his neck. The pants were black and so were the shoes. He looked at himself in the mirror. He stared at his own reflection without emotion. He knew what was happening to him. Very clearly. He was slowly being consumed by this black cultivation stone. But if what the giant wolf told him was true, that this was the only way for him to become strong, he would do it.He couldn't believe he was still alive and still aware of what he was doing. He was grateful that he could still control his own body and mind despite the two cultivation stones he had consumed. If he had to become a monster again just to save his clan, he would do it the right way. He had to force himself. He had once escaped death from that precip
Excitement
"This will be your room," Heji said to Emrys as they entered one of the rooms in the dormitory. "Just tell me if you need anything. At eight o'clock tonight, your uniforms will be given to you, so you can rest for now or if you want to go out, it's okay. Just don't go far from the dormitory. The teachers and Guild Leaders here are strict, so you know, be careful, especially since you are new. And tomorrow, everything will be explained to you. That's all."Emrys smiled at him and bowed. "Thank you very much, Brother Heji.""Here's the key." Heji handed the key, which Emrys accepted. When Heji left, Emrys waved at him before closing the door and locking it. When Emrys was finally alone, he stood there for a moment. He blew on the key using magic and quietly observed his room.It was clean. Not very big, but enough for him to feel safe. The bed was soft. Just enough for one person. He sat down on it. He clasped his hands together while bowing his head. His once cheerful face suddenly bec
Rank
"Based on the order you passed the exam, that's also the order you will approach the book to clarify your identities. Place your palm on the floating book and transfer even a little bit of your magic to the book. It will automatically open and reveal your rank, age, clan, and name. So, there's no point in lying because this book knows who you really are inside. First on the list. Start."Sai immediately approached the book. He did what the teacher said, and the book automatically opened afterwards. From the blank page, the young man's rank appeared, according to his current strength.A soldier was waiting beside Clover, his list ready.Clover read the rank on the book in a loud voice so that everyone present could hear it. "Sai Floshen, age fifteen. Rank, 3rd Grade Cat, from the Death Lotus Clan. Next!""Oh? He's already 3rd Grade? Really? Not bad for a newcomer, I guess."One of the students present commented.Next to approach the book was Loan. After that, Clover read it again. "Loa
Entrance
After all the cultivators who passed the exam entered, Emrys couldn't help but feel nervous. But despite that, he was also amazed as he observed the inside of the institution where he now stood. He had only heard about this school in old tales, but now that he was actually here, he couldn't believe that it was even wider and more beautiful than what he had imagined. It had been his dream to step foot in this place, and now that he was finally here, it was impossible for him to wipe the smile off his face as he walked with the other passers. He was the only one who was happy. The others had serious faces because they were also nervous. After all, whenever they passed by the facilities or buildings, they could always feel the sharp stares of the students already here. Not only students, but also important people in the institution, like the high-ranking teachers, visitors of the institution like the Clan Elders, the school's heavyweight soldiers, and most of all, the proud students who

From the royal family of the Chien of the Cerulean Tempest Clan. Finally, the noble clans were sending their representative cultivators to fight against the power that had always revolved around these three clans, but it was always the Dragon Sage Clan that received victory in countless generations. When all the new cultivators were finished, Desmond stood up and Clover approached him. "Are you okay?"Desmond turned to him and nodded. "I'll leave them to you."Clover sighed, nodded, and faced the guards. "Close the gate. Those who passed, follow me.""Wait!"Everyone turned to the newcomer, causing Sai, Loan, and Eris to suddenly look pale when they realized that the man had caught up. And he was still alive, except for his torn and dirty clothes."I'm one of the new cultivators entering the institution. I'm Emrys Valestron, fourteen years old,
Passed, part 1
Inside the InstitutionA man, one of the teachers at this school, walked alone down the hallway.Tall and handsome, with white, flowing hair and slanted eyes. This was Mr. Clover Cleaveland. A Professional Cultivator, 8th Grade Falcon.Desmond Dekker, on the other hand, was a 9th Grade Falcon."Mr. Clover! Mr. Clover!" He stopped walking when a student greeted him."Oh, Heji. What's the problem?"Heji Mo. A noble student from the Mo Family of the Tiger Fang Clan. And he was already a 7th Grade Serpent Cultivator."It seems like we're going to have a problem with the new cultivators. Because out of the five hundred applicants, more than half of them gave up and went home."Clover frowned at what he heard. "And how many of them passed?""N-none of them have passed yet."Because of that, Clover sighed. "Don't tell me Desmond is the one who faced those kids again.""That's right."Clover quickly walked towards the direction of the school's gate."What's gotten into that old man's head aga
