Rewards and Punishment

Eagan aimed for its head with his guns while others continued the assault on his stomach; even though the weakness was in the stomach, it kept moving around. He shot at it twice, and from each gun and with the four bullets to the head and belly, they became weak.

It growled out in pain, and the surrounding zombies began to gather

" Fuck! We are surrounded! "

" I'm out of ammo, and so are most people."

" We can't relax yet if we don't want to be food for the zombies."

With one last shot, Eagan finished the level two zombie, and they fought the horde surrounding them.

They sat down in exhaustion when the zombies were cleared

" I take it back. I don't want to do this every day ... I'm so tired," Nick said with a groan

" Although it's tiring, it's fun."

" Fun, my ass, it's so disgusting."

" I'm aware we are all tired from just now, but we'll need to clear out the road and the zombies. We need to burn them," Adam instructed, resulting in a series of unpleasant complaints and groans of displeasure none dared to disobey as they immediately got to cleaning.

" What happened here?" Jay, the driver who took the survivors to the base, returned and met them, cleaning

" The zombies can evolve."

"What do you mean to evolve?" Sam asked, curious about the new set of information

" Evolve as in level up like in video games ... You know when you are in the beginner's village, it has you to kill a wolf, and then at some point, it has you to kill a dragon? Yes, that kind," Silver explained.

" That's bad news ... It's just the first week. I mean, they shouldn't evolve this soon, right?" Sam asked in fright

By the time they finished cleaning the zombie, the people in the supermarket were already done gathering the resources into the trucks they saw in the supermarket parking lot. They were company supply trucks. Some of them still had goods, and their doors opened. They got some people from the survivors who could drive to drive the car, and others went with the bus.

One of the good things about the base is its location. When his parents chose the site, they chose the less populated area of the city to avoid having to deal with hordes of zombies every time. And there is a vast land surrounding the base with any building; if need be, it'll be easy to expand the ground at any time.

Upon getting to the base, everyone was checked for scratch or bite marks; the injured were immediately taken to the infirmary without allowing them into the living quarters. They gathered in the open field in front of the living quarters, and the trucks were taken to the kitchen area while the bus was parked in the parking lot.

The new people joining the base were amazed at the floor's beauty.

" Whoa"

" It's so big!"

" This place can house thousands of people."

" It's so big and beautiful!"

Nina handed Eagan a megaphone.

"Please listen, everyone, " Eagan instructed, and the newcomers gathered around.

" Hello, everyone; my name is Eagan, and welcome to our base ....; as promised, you all will be allowed to stay here as long as you wish to stay or as long as the military rescue team comes around; there is enough room for every one of you, f you have families in the city get in touch with them... find out if they are alive or not, we'll make sure to unite you with them" Eagan explained, and the cloud cheered.

" As we have informed you earlier, if you stay here, you'll have to earn your stay by doing some work around the base. I'll introduce the in charge to you; go to them to get registered for anyone you are interested in."

"This is Adam; he is the head of the security department and also the trainer in charge of training the combat team; please note that everyone, male or female, will have to go through the training for self-defense purposes, and the training held six in the morning and ends at eight, it's a two hours Training, we won't tolerate absence that has not a genuine reason."

" Also, there will be a reward and punishment system in this place. If you adhere to the rules, you'll be rewarded, and if you break them, you'll be punished; it is put in place to ensure everyone lives in peace without worrying; I hope you cooperate with us."
