Lex jolted awake, sitting up as he yelled, "Please don't kill me!" "Not yet!" His eyes were heavy; he was drenched in an ocean of sweat from top to bottom. Something was definitely strange; he was sure he was dead a few moments ago.
He opened his eyes; around him was an unending white mist, in which he floated amidst. "What is this place?" "Am I dead or alive?" Lex muttered to himself.
He was so engrossed in the mist he barely noticed the stray hair dangling down towards his forehead. It was blonde.
Lex was shocked; the last time he saw his hair, he remembered it was pitch black, no less. "Where am I?" He felt a sudden ache in his head and around his body.
He tried to scream but couldn't, as a severe pain coursed through his entire being. Strange memories began forcing their way into his head – foreign memories. He muttered through the pain, "What's going on?"
About thirty minutes later, Lex could move again. He felt absolutely different. He took a stare at his hands; there were various callouses attached at various parts. A translucent screen flashed right before his eyes; he touched the screen, it flickered. The screen showed his reflection. Lex was amused at what he saw – a perfect jawline, matching the sharpness of a blade, glowing blue eyes, and a well-structured teenage face.
He held his face with both of his hands, caressing it.
He had a few doubts, but all that was happening to him could only mean he had been transmigrated into another person's body.

{Welcome host! To the survival system}
{Main objective: upgrade from your servant role to a new occupational role.}
"Huh," muttered Lex as an emotionless voice echoed in his mind. A bunch of messages also appeared on the translucent screen ahead of him. He stood up as he held his breath. "System, is that you?"
{Yes host}
"Yes!" Lex spoke, clenching his fists. Tears of water threatened to fall from his eyes; he was thrilled, finally, he yearned.
Back on Earth, his life was boring. All Earth could offer was nothing but normalcy, a simple life, and nothing more. Multidimensional beings never invaded to spark an interdimensional war.
Though he seemed to have loved it, the truth was, he despised it – a whole lot. That was why he had immersed himself in comics, manga, and novels, to keep out of the world.
But now, now the moment any Isekai fan had always dreamed of – the system, had just awakened right before him. "Looks like my boring life is finally over," Lex spoke to himself.
"Maybe I could go on a quest to slay the demon king." "And probably join an adventurer guild in the process, even get married on the way. What should I choose – demon baddies, elven baddies, or beast kin baddies?
I am so excited!"
He then heard the cold, emotionless voice of the system speak again. {Host, please refrain from daydreaming; you're in the middle of the noble's party}
Lex was shocked to the hilt as the translucent screen vanished. He hadn't noticed he was no longer in the white mist anymore.
The system was right; he was amidst a noble's party. Now all eyes were on him. He hadn't even realized he was holding a tray filled with glass cups. He looked down at his outfit; he wore a pale leather wear with some ragged brown leather boots, stained in all parts.
He glanced around; the interior of the building was well-designed, bronze templates attached to the wall as decor. Lex was sure he had heard music, which had now stopped because of his continuous bickering about adventure guilds and baddies. He quickly glanced around, analyzing the situation.
With the aid of the foreign memories, he understood a few things – that he was at a party for the noble's daughter, as he could see her standing in the middle of the hall in a dazzling and most exotic dress.
Her beauty overshadowed all that were around her.
Lex's left hand was immediately held as he was pinned to the ground by a knight who suddenly appeared behind him. Lex balanced the tray, dropping it on the ground. "My apologies, Sire Barristan," the knight spoke, his voice slightly cracking as he seemed afraid. The knight then went ahead to bow curtly, pushing Lex further to the ground.
"I ask for forgiveness for Gorin's unruly behavior, sire. It won't happen again." Lex recognized the knight from somewhere but where?
He asked himself, baffled. The knight wore thick, shining green leather armor, two cups of steel attaching the chest plate to both of his shoulders, a helmet on his head.
He held a sword in his hand. He was slightly taller than Lex (in his Gorin form), with a strong build and a cape flowing at his back.
Sire Barristan nodded, positioning his half-filled cup forward as he spoke. "As a watchful treat, this servant would be executed tomorrow." There was a corresponding shout of gladness from the others that stood by in the hall. A look of absolute fear crossed Lex's face as he was being pulled out of the hall. He just got reincarnated; how could this possibly be happening? "I'm finished," muttered Lex as the knight dragged him out of the hall.
After a few minutes of continuous walking, they arrived at a regular dungeon. The dungeon was dark except for a few torches hung on the wall. Centimeters apart from each other, they lit up the place. Rats nonchalantly strutted from one cell to another, with no care for who or what was passing by.
Ignoring these, Lex asked the system a question. "So, what type of system are you? Level up type, harem type, mission type, ascension type?"
{I'm a survival system; my sole purpose is to assist you in surviving in the dangerous world of Aetheria}
Lex blinked in disbelief.
As he spoke, "System, could you repeat that?"
{I'm a survival system; my objective is to help you in surviving in the dangerous world of Aetheria}
That's when it occurred to Lex, the reason he seemed to recognize the knight. He had somehow reincarnated in his novel as a side character, and yet this was no ordinary novel.
It was the world of Aetheria, which he had crafted to favor the elite.
Lex snapped out of his reverie as he was flonged by the green armored knight into one of the empty cells.
The knight then locked it with a bunch of chains. He sat up, pausing, then closed his eyes. The translucent screen appeared once more.

The Blue Fish
Lex sank deep into the ocean. The fall had been long, and he couldn't stop the momentum. He hadn’t held any breath earlier, and he was sure this wasn't going to end well. Blood spilled from the wounds on his back, and the poison in his legs had begun to spread. Lex knew that even if he somehow found a way to survive the first part of the quest,there was no way he could survive outside not while he was a useless slave. So Lex accepted his fate and embraced the cold of the dark ocean. His eyes closed as he recalled memories from his past life, how he had been absolutely average. He hadn’t expected anything from life, and life hadn’t given him anything without a bargain. So, was he going to go now?He was okay with it.{Ding!}The sound rattled in Lex's ears. With his eyes closed, he raised a brow, curious about what the system wanted from him."Hey system? Can't you see I’m trying to die here? Stop with the dinging."'I have accepted my fate. The Ocean
The grip from the skeleton bird was tight. His eyes locked on the space in the ground were land had appeared. This was his chance and he wasn't going to miss it. Vines lunged upwards, twisting together like veins. Curling in the patterns in which lex had directed each of them. On getting close to his location, a loud screeched echoed from the skeleton bird. it was attacked by another bird of it's kind. Lex ignored that fact and simply focused on the vines he controlled. As the bird pulled him farther into the air. The harder it was to control the vines upwards. Soon enough he lost the control of the vines because it was simply to far away. The skeleton bird was not taking any chance on yeilding to the other bird that also wanted him as food. Lex reached for the dagger that was tucked at his side, stretching his arms with all of his strength. He pressed on. His fingers curling around it. And then with two fingers he gripped the handle. Lex tossed it up catching it and holding it fir
Vine control
Lex hastened his steps, each thud taking him as far as he could go. They were no longer just faint mana signatures anymore. The beasts had emerged from the bushes and were gaining on him at a frightening speed. But Lex ignored the fact that he could die at any moment and kept his focus on one thing. The quest. He still had to find the magic stones, and from the fact that the mages who created the portals had hurriedly sent him into a dungeon without preparation, it likely meant that the stones were not hidden but were placed in open sight. All he had to do was keep his eyes open and survive. Lex felt a mana-imbued strike coming from the left at full speed. He slipped, tripping on the snow in a very disgraceful manner, summoning his spell while in motion and materializing a vine ball that could shield whatever strike it was. The vines immediately enveloped him, but the force behind the strike was simply too strong and too sharp. It pierced through the ball like a blade. Le

Clank! The sound of a beginner Knight's shield met a mana condensed arrow. But the raw power from the shot was enough to Parry and stop the hit completely. Back in noble barristan's arena, the crowd erupted in satisfaction as they were entertained with the pure massacre of the lower hand quest. "That's another brutal parry from mandarin!" The commentator yelled with glee as he watched Mandarin obstruct the strike at the last moment saving a total stranger. She continued with charisma, lifting the amusement of the crowd. One mage stood in the top balcony of the arena, channeling Mana from his palm and creating a wide divided screen view of each of the lower hand quest battles for the crowd to see. The screen floated in the middle of the arena, flicking every five minutes as it wasn't meant to be handled by one mage alone. Noble barristan sat at the royalty section of the arena, his gaze cold, absolutely devoid of any emotion of the sort. Many nobles had gathered here today, in
The Other Dungeons
The six eyes of the hydra instinctively snapped open, on sensing the imminent danger. Lex stood right at the entrance of the cave, fazed. His trembling hands clenched as he fell into resolve, he was going to take down this beast because that was the only way to survive. Vines materialized from the ground, surrounding him firmly, in a curved posture focused on the hydra right before lex. Lex had long awaited a response, right from the moment the hydra should have sensed Mana circulating through his body. He didn't mind. Neither did he care. Maybe thunder could indeed strike in two places at once. He wondered to himself. Lex took a stance and was ready to release the all out vine attack, but in a split second, the hydra had managed to send a strike at him, the strike was so powerful it sent him flying backwards various meters away and yet so fast, he was absolutely caught unawares. The hit was a shock to lex, he hadn't had time to prepare, neither was there a possible way for him t
The hydra
Lex let out a ragged breath and a weak shake, he'd been in the barely fitting hole for a couple of minutes now and the cold had began sinking into his very being. He had to leave really quick, not only because of the cold, but because of the lower hand quest itself, they hadn't been given any time frame and he was absolutely certain that sooner or later the ones with the magic stones would be transferred to the next round.For now, he had to find the magic stones and hold on to it, that was the most reasonable way to get out of this dungeon, it's not often a servant like him gets this opportunity. He retracted the spell. The vines immediately vanished. he was welcomed by the more intense cold of the dungeon.Compared to this, inside the vine ball was even warmer. He stood up on his feet, senses alert, eyes darting, this dungeon was even more dangerous than he has anticipated and he was going to take it more seriously from henceforth. Lex decided to check out the wolf and bear that had
