Chapter 2

They entered his house. They all had a similar thought that it’d be a terrifying place. But when they looked around,they were surprised. More like let down. They thought that he would live in a dungeon. But it was a normal house. A completely normal house. Just that it was underground.

“Make yourselves at home. I live alone here. But I should call her too. For you girls can take it easy.” Jacob said and went into a room.

“Is it really his house? It looks totally normal.” Aisha said.

But Leah had a different approach.

“No. Everything here is made from or with magic. The furnitures have a protective spell cast on them. It is indestructible.”(l)

“What? The furnitures are indestructible. Let’s check it.” Belle said and unsheathed her sword. She took a attack stance and swung her sword at the chair in front of her. But much to everyone’s surprise it was unscathed. The chair didn’t even have a single mark on it. This annoyed Belle. So she kept attacking. But the chair remained the same. On the other hand,her sword was almost broken. She got so mad that she swung her sword with all of her strength. The result ended in her sword being broken to pieces. She had a ghastly look on her face.

“My sword which could cut a minotaur in half broke. With that I could even slay a dragon. How is that a simple chair broke my sword.” She didn’t understand it.

“Ohhh.” A voice came from behind them. They looked back and it was Jacob.

“You broke your sword. I will give you a new one.” He said.

“But what is with this chair? How can a sword break?” Belle asked desperately.

“Well, I casted protection on it. So it is indestructible. You have to be at least as strong as me to destroy anything in my house.” He said. As strong as him. But just how strong is he? That’s the question everyone was asking themselves.

“Well the person I wanted to call is here. So let’s get her.” He said.

“You girls wait here. I’ll go get her.”

He said and left.

“Did he just say her? That means it’s a woman.” Leah said.

“Let’s see who that is. If she’s just like him then we are in trouble.” Aisha said.

After a short time he came back with a woman. She is tall and has white hair. Her skin is also white. With red eyes and a godly figure,she was like a goddess from heaven.

She looked at them and smiled. It was too dazzling. It almost made them faint. She was divine. But Jacob was unaffected by it.

“Nice to meet you. My name is Selene.” She introduced herself.

And the girls also introduced themselves in order. But they were oddly polite. Like facing a god. Jacob chuckled at their behavior.

“You don’t have to act so formal. She is my old friend.” He said.

“But,she is just so godly. How can’t you act like that?” Aisha said. Belle and Leah nodded in agreement. Selene laughed after hearing this.

“Jacob, it’s nice to meet you after a long time. But why now of all times? You didn’t even bother to contact me before.” Selene asked him. It’s true that he had no contact with the outside world. But after meeting those three, he had to come into contact.

“You see, those three are interested in me. They want to know why I am like this. So who better to explain than you.” He pointed at her and said.

“Why her?” Aisha asked. Leah tried to check her magic power. But it’s the same. She can’t feel anything from her. But just like Jacob, she gave off intense pressure.

“Well to be honest, I gave him those powers. I bestowed upon him those powers what you saw.” Selene said. Leah was shocked again. Because power bestowal is a special skill. Only a god or the highest ranked sage can do it. But currently no one alive has that skill. Leah knew that as she is a wizard.

She told that to Aisha and Belle. Both of them were surprised too.

“Let me introduce myself. I am Selene, the goddess of moon.” Selene said to clear up the confusion. Hearing her, all three of them fainted. It must have been too much for them to take in one day. Jacob looked at their bodies and asked Selene,

“What should we do? They fainted after hearing that you’re a goddess.”

“Let them have some rest. But they have aptitude. They can easily climb up to the top of humanity.” Selene assertively said.

“I know. But it would be dangerous for them to gain that much power at once. Should we just coach them?”

“That’s a good idea. I have nothing to do and I haven’t seen you in a long time. We can just travel around the world. You should go and see the world too, you know?”

“Well I was bored anyway. How many years has it been?” He asked.

“Well it has been well over 4000 years. The battle is just a fairy tale now. But the demons have not stopped. They still fight with the humans.” Selene said.

“That’s for later. Help me here.” He said while moving their bodies. Selene lent a hand and he laid them on bed.

“It’s my fault that it happened in the first place. I was too careless thinking that no one would come.” Jacob sighed. He was feeling a little down because he dragged some meddling people in this. He was fussing over how to fix it. But his facial expressions were too funny.

“It’s always entertaining to see you like this.” Selene said with a cute smile. It was enough to make anyone fall for her. But Jacob was oddly resistant to her charms. Selene as the goddess of moon is one of the most charming woman. But Jacob had the power to resist her. Selene was constantly trying to make a move on him. But he avoided all her advances. Finally she stopped doing it and said with a cute face,

“You really are such a party pooper.”

“I just stay away from unwanted trouble. Inviting you was troublesome enough. And those girls too. My perfect and peaceful life is gone like that.” Jacob retorted.

“I know.” Selene said.

“But it’s not that bad. I was thinking that I was holed up for quite a while. So it’s fun. Aren’t you having fun too. The divine realm is just too boring. I can understand why you don’t like it.” Jacob smiled at her and said.

Selene nodded and smiled back. They were talking about all kinds of things and a few hours passed just like that. It was afternoon outside. Aisha was the first one to wake up.

She woke up and looked around. Then tried to remember why she was there. After remembering she got off the bed and rushed outside. She found Jacob and Selene chatting.

“What do you mean by goddess? Who is she, Jacob?” She shook Jacob violently and asked.

“Calm down. I’ll tell you everything. Just calm down. It really doesn’t feel good.” Jacob pleaded. Somehow she calmed herself down and let go of him. Jacob, after being released sat down again. It was really a bad thing.

“Well where to start?” He shook his head and looked at Selene. Selene smiled at him.

“Should we start from the beginning then?” He asked.

“Yes. But also, tell me about that. Your first one. I don’t know about it.” Selene said.

“Ok.” He said. So that’s how he started talking about him.
