Chapter 1

“I am tired.” Said a girl. She flings her hand in the air and said. She is clearly worn out from work. She has black hair and red eyes. A cute face and small frame. But she was not ordinary. She is an adventurer. A highly capable one at that. Returning from finishing a job she said that.

“Don’t say that. We are all equally tired.”

Said a girl from behind. Another girl nodded. She was not alone. She is in a all girls party. There are 3 of them.

“But I am especially tired today, Belle.” Said the black haired one. She called the one who retorted Belle.

“But this job was your choice. You chose to exterminate the 30 tiger wolves. So it’s your fault.” Said Belle.

The third one who was sitting quietly said,

“Yeah. But we got almost killed too. So be a little careful, Aisha.” She called the black haired girl Aisha.

“I will.” Aisha made a blank face.

“By the way aren’t you a little too calm today, Leah.” The quiet girl was called Leah.

“I am thinking about something.” Leah said.

“What? Is it about the job we finished?”(a)

“Yes. Don’t you think that the plain grasslands was pretty good?”(l)

“It certainly was. Like someone has been taking care of it.”(b)

“But who would take care of such a place? It’s in the middle of the forest and is swarming with monsters. I guess you are overthinking it.”(a)

“No. Let’s go again there. I am sure that something is happening there.” Leah proposed. She was not going to back down. Belle also agreed. But Aisha didn’t want to go. Since she was exhausted more than usual.

“Then you stay here and we’ll go.” Leah and Belle said. Aisha,Leah and Belle are three childhood friends who are together since they were born. There parents were friends too. But they died. So now they live together and work as adventurers. Aisha didn’t want to let them go.

“Don’t worry. If we see trouble,we’ll run for it.” Leah proudly said.

“Ok. Promise me that you’ll come back.” For some reason Aisha couldn’t calm down.

The next day,both Leah and Belle left for the grasslands. They didn’t go right out of bushes. They hid in the bushes. Leah was a wizard. So she could sense magic and search for people too. She checked the area but nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. There are currently no monsters. Belle was keeping her eyes open. That’s when they saw something outrageous. The grasslands split open and a big hole emerged. From there came out a person. Both of them were thunderstruck. But they tried to look closely. A man. Probably in his late teens or early twenties. Not too tall but not short either. No special features either. Totally a normal person but who is that man? That was the main question.

“Leah,do you see him?”(b)

“Yeah. But how is that possible? Not even a sage can do that? What’s more strange is that I can’t feel anything from him. Not even a sliver of magic. But why do I feel so much pressure?”(l)

“But it’s troublesome to stay here. Let’s ask him.”(b)

“Will it be okay? What if he attacks us out of nowhere?”(l)

“Don’t worry. From his body,he doesn’t seem very strong. I can take him.”(b)

Belle is a swordsman. So she is strong. At least stronger than most men. So she had confidence in her strength.

“Okay. So let’s go.”

But when they looked over there,he was already gone. They looked around but he wasn’t there.

“Where did he go? We only looked away for a minute and he’s gone. Just how?”(b)

“You girls should leave. This place is dangerous for you to be.” A voice came from behind. They looked behind and saw him.

The man whom they were observing.

Seeing him they both leapt and got some space. They were on guard and ready to attack. He also came out of the bush.

“It’s not nice to barge in on someone’s house. I was going to take a nap. But you girls ruined it.” He said.

“Who are you?” Said Belle with her sword in her hand.

“Who,me? I am just your normal average guy you can find anywhere.” He said.

“Don’t lie. I can’t sense any magic from you. That can only happen when I have less power than you. Who are you?” Both Leah and Belle were on the offensive.

“It’s too much trouble. How about I send you back and you don’t come back. Sounds good,right?” He tried to persuade them.

“No. We are not leaving.” Belle said.

He sighed.

“I will send you back. So don’t ever come back.” He snapped his fingers and a magic circle appeared below them. It activated immediately and they were covered in light. They closed their eyes but when they opened,they were already in front of their house.

“How can it be? He just sent us back like that?” Belle said. It really irritated her that he didn’t even do anything. But Leah was shaking. She was shaken from what she saw.

“Hey Leah,what’s wrong?” Belle asked.

“That was a teleportation spell. He used it like nothing. But it is a lost magic from the age of gods.” She was mumbling. Her thoughts were in disarray. Belle supported her and went inside. Aisha was off duty. So she was at home. Hearing the door opening,she went to welcome them.

But seeing Leah,she became worried. She rushed over to them and took Leah. Both of them took Leah to her bed and laid her down on her bed. She closed her eyes and just slept. But Aisha was worried.

“What happened? You seem fine but what happened to Leah?”(a)

“Well she became like this after that.” Belle told her about what happened over there. After hearing everything Aisha made a serious face. It is something she could not ignore.

“Let’s go see him. I want to know more about that guy.” Aisha was quite interested too. Leah calmed down after sleeping. But she wanted to know more. To a wizard,knowledge is everything. To become a sage,you need knowledge. So she was really intrigued. Belle wanted to know the secret behind his speed. The three of them found something intriguing.

After two days,three of them left. However they left at the time he came out. So they could meet him directly.

When they arrived,they saw a figure on the grass. It was laying on the grass and seemed to be asleep.

“Are you sure that’s him? He doesn’t look much to me.” Aisha said with disappointment.

“We get it. But it’s true. Let’s try getting closer to him.” Belle suggested.

They started moving closer to him. He was fast asleep. So he didn’t notice them. Aisha and the others reached him. His sleeping face was quite normal.

“Is he really a human? Let’s touch him.” Leah said. She was curious. She touched his cheeks. It was like any normal cheek. Nothing different. But after touching him she felt something different.

“He is a monster.” Leah was frightened. She backed away from him.

“What is it? Is he not human?” Aisha asked.

“No. He is definitely human. But I feel every element from him. Like he can control everything.” Leah said.

“That can’t be. No one alive can control all elements. Even the most is four, right?” Aisha asked.

“But that’s not it. He controls something other than those too. He uses something other than we know.” Leah was terrified while telling that.

“It is impossible. Just what is he?” Aisha and Belle said.

“I told you not to come back.” He opened his eyes and said. The girls again backed away from him. He sat and looked at them. They were trembling in fear. He sighed again.

“Don’t worry. I won’t eat you guys. But it really is inconvenient for me. You girls are snooping around too much.”

“Sorry about that.” Aisha gathered her courage and said.

“I am Jacob. What is your name?” He asked them. He tried to ease the situation.

They introduced themselves.

“But it’s not nice to stay outside. It’s only noon. Why don’t you come to my place?” He invited them to his house.

“Is it really okay?” Aisha asked.

“That depends on you. You can come or I can just send you back.” Jacob said.

Aisha and the girls looked at each other. They were probably discussing this through eye contact. After a while Aisha said,

“We will accept your invitation.”

“Okay. But my house is a little old and different. So don’t get surprised.”(j)

After that he opened that hole again. And stairs could be seen. He went in and the girls followed him. After going down the stairs they reached a wide area underground. It was wide and there was a door. A normal wooden door. Jacob opened the door and entered. The girls also steeled their hearts and entered. It was his house but they were surprised.
