Chapter 0001

"It's time." A faint voice sounded as a figure walked toward the awaiting helicopter.

Behind him were rows of men with their heads dropped looking sadly as the young man walked towards the helicopter. Each of the men had a murderous aura surrounding them, at the same time, they looked tattered and worn out.

On the floor all over were dead bodies. It was obvious a battle was just concluded. The sight of the battlefield was indeed a gory sight to see.

"Farewell commander!"

Suddenly, the voices of the men over three hundred echoed throughout the battlefield as they watched the figure walk towards the helicopter.

The young man smiled but didn't turn around, it was already time for him to leave. It had been over five years since he had been here.

Five years ago, on the day of his wedding, his fiancee's elder brother had caused an accident under the influence of Alcohol. Unable to bear to see his fiancee in a sorry state, he took the blame upon himself and was sent to prison.

Luckily when he got to prison, he was taken away by the state's security agent and since then he fought his way up until he became the commander of the Ironclad legion, the strongest Rignment.

He became the youngest commander and was known as the God of war. His combat skill was unparalleled and it was said that no one could defeat him because he was just too strong earning him the respect of the authorities.

Now that he had brought glory to his country, he retired as the neighboring countries wouldn't dare to attack his county. Just before he retired, he had come to give his last service and helped fight a last war with the Ironclad legion defeating all potential enemies of Verdora.

Now, it was time for him to head back to his family, he wondered how his fiancee was doing, his father, younger brother, and younger sister. His mother died when he was young.

His family's business was doing well and was sure that with his Younger brother's skills, they'll be doing rather well. At this moment, he wanted nothing but to reunite with his family.

Not looking back at the battlefield, the young man in quite tattered clothes entered the helicopter and soon it flew out of the vicinity.

"Master..."

"Since we are now heading back, there's no need for you to address me as master, just call me Eric." The young man smiled, interrupting the man who wanted to talk to him.

The young man had a quite confused look on his face, "But..."

"If you insist, I'll have to send you back to the battlefield." Eric smiled, interrupting the young man.

"Mas... Eric." The young man shattered as he said.

"Now, tell me what you want to say, Eliot." Eric smiled looking at the man sitting beside him.

Two years ago, when he was on the battlefield, he saved a young man and taught him some Martial art skills. Since then, he had been following him all around calling him master. At first, he wanted him to stop, but seeing the determination of the man, he smiled and accepted the man.

"The Four Kings of the Shadow vanguard along with the three hundred men are waiting for you at the airport." Eliot sighed after some time.

Eric frowned immediately after he heard this, he didn't have the intention of causing a commotion when he got back to Orange City which was where his family were. But since the Shadow vanguard was there, he knew they would cause a lot of trouble for him.

The state also didn't know about them, they were all the men he had been nurturing in secret and each of them was very strong. They all had high positions on the battlefield and their main job was to protect the border of Verdora.

Otherwise, even with his strength, he would have long been overwhelmed by the enemies.

"Ask them to go back, I don't need their help," Eric frowned as he instructed Eliot, "I'll personally deal with them if I see them at the airport, they should just go about with their business."

"Yes sir." Eliot smiled and took out his phone to carry out Eric's order.

Soon, the roaring of the Helicopter stopped as it landed at the airport. Eric Alighted from the helicopter with Elliot following right behind him.

"It's good to be back," Eric muttered as he stretched his limbs.

No one except the higher-ups of the country knew he was back. He had done this to avoid the bootlicking of those big companies. He didn't want to have anything to do with them and just wanted to live peacefully.

"Have you found out where my family lives?" Eric asked, looking at Eliot.

"Yes, mas... Eric." Eliot sighed feeling rather conflicted.

He couldn't get used to calling his master by his name. But since this was the only chance he had to follow his master around, he could only adapt.

"So, where are they?" Eric asked feeling rather impatient.

"They are living in Maplewood Lane

Eric frowned hearing the name of the street, he had never heard the name of the street since he had been living in Orange City.

"Lead the way." Eric frowned as he said to Elliot.

Immediately, Eliot waved down a taxi and told the driver the address.

After about five minutes, the taxi pulled up in front of a rather dilapidated house. The houses on the streets were no better either. Somewhere with detached roofs and the others were old looking as though they would collapse at any time making Eric frown.

Alighting from the taxi, Eric looked around as a sense of Trepidation arose in his heart, he just didn't know what was going on. Five years ago, even though his family was not that famous, at the very least, they had the money to afford a villa.

Then why the hell were they living in such a rundown place? It seems like a lot had happened, he needed to know. First, he didn't know which house belonged to his family, but since Eliot had brought him here, it meant that his family was leaving there.

"Brother?"

"Brother, is that you?"

A faint feminine voice sounded right behind Eric making him freeze as he turned around slowly. He recognized the voice so much that he was never going to forget it.

"Alexis!"

Eric called out softly as he turned around to look at the figure that had just called him. But the moment he laid his eyes on his figure, his whole body froze.
