Chapter 218

*NEXT DAY*

CARTER COMB

Kai briskly walked into Liam's office, finding him on the phone with Alisha. Liam was smiling sheepishly and said, "You're welcome."

Kai frowned and signaled to Liam that he had an urgent message. Liam, noticing Kai's urgency, said to Alisha over the phone, "One moment, I'll call you back," before disconnecting the line. He turned to Kai and asked, "What is it, Kai? You were interrupting something big here."

"You're busy flirting around while the security of Carter Comb is under siege," Kai replied, his tone sharp.

"What do you mean?" Liam asked, getting up from his seat and walking over to the window. He looked through to catch the sunlight in his eyes and then turned back to face Kai.

Kai shook his head in disappointment. "Someone tried to hack into Carter Comb. They’re still trying, using the most sophisticated software in the world. If not for my intervention and updates, all your information and data would have been out in the open."

Chapter 500 – Footsteps and Firewalls Santorini – Oia’s Alleys The scent of grilled octopus and crushed jasmine filled the air, but Gregor couldn’t smell anything except adrenaline. He darted through the narrow alleys of Oia, his cap low, hoodie zipped tight, boots pounding the uneven stones. The crowd was dense at this hour—sunset tourists still lingering with wine glasses and cameras. But the man ahead, Kai’s operative, was fast and nimble, weaving between tables, knocking over a fruit cart, sprinting with the reckless speed of someone with nothing left to lose. Gregor shoved past a waiter, ignoring shouts in Greek. His eyes never left the target. The limp was still there, slight but present—a marker. The man took a sharp turn left into a back lane, one Gregor recognized from his own surveillance of the area. It led downhill, toward the old port. Trap. But he kept running. Dust kicked up around his boots as he skidded down the incline, heart thudding. A glint of metal flashed

Chapter 498 – Orders and Omens Location: EMC Headquarters, London The thunder outside rumbled like warning drums, shaking the windows of the EMC headquarters. Rain slapped against the glass, fast and heavy. Inside the private operations wing, the lights flickered under the pressure of a system reroute, but James Wane didn’t notice. He stood alone, pacing back and forth, deep in thought. His phone was still in his hand, still warm from the call with Lana. Her voice had come through in a whisper, but it had hit him like lightning. “There are cameras,” she had said. “In the bedroom walls.” That was all he needed to hear. He ran a hand through his hair and looked over at Gregor, who stood a few feet away, calm as ever. “Kai’s there,” James muttered, his voice low and dangerous. “Or someone working for him.” He turned sharply to face Gregor, his jaw clenched tight. “You’re flying out tonight.” Gregor’s eyebrows lifted slightly, but he nodded. “What are the rules?” James didn’t he
