Chapter 12

Once Jace closed the doors of the living room behind him, he was faced with his mother-in-law who wore a devilish face. At first, he wasn't moved because he knew that was the kind of face she kept toward him whenever they were both in the same room. Now that he had become a rich man, he wouldn't permit himself to be insulted, he was also not going to disrespect his mother-in-law.

"Good afternoon, mother," Jace said softly after noticing Mrs. Elizabeth's face was getting more red. For some seconds she said nothing. Her gaze was still plastered on him like a piece of trash.

On usual days when she refused to respond to his salutations, he will further insist by saluting her again till she shoves him away. Today was different, he wasn't doing that. He rather lowered his head and started walking towards the kitchen.
