Two hours later after Jack Adams had saved Emilia Williams and her brother Clarke Williams, he is now packing his belongings from his matrimonial bedroom in his in-law's place.
Just then his phone rang.
“Hello, Mr Lee, I have actually warned you not to call me on this line.”
Jack Adams said as he immediately closed the door to the room.
“I'm very sorry, Mr Jack, by the way, I heard today marks the day of your mom's fifteenth death anniversary…”
“I'm really sorry for the loss.”
“Mr Lee, don't worry about that, I will find those who did that soon enough and put all of them where they belong.”
“To what exactly do I owe this call?” Jack Adams asked as he sat on the bed.
“Mr Jack Adams, I would like to beg you for a little favour.”
“You have asked for that favour three times this month…Mr Lee this is the fourth time.”
“Mr Lee, what exactly do you want?”
“I'm very busy at the moment, can't this discussion wait?”
“I really don't think it can, not when it involves Paris Polyphylla.” Mr Lee's voice was a bit hypnotic.
“Did you find more of it?”
“Where?”
“How?” Jack Adams asked, gasping in shock and exhilaration.
“Mr Jack Adams, I didn't find any of it, a friend of mine from one of the elite families is offering a full packet of that rare plant, Paris Polyphylla, to anyone who can cure his wife, Lady Beatrice Williams.”
“Recently Lady Beatrice Williams contracted a deadly virus origin disease and Lord Williams and his family have spent millions of dollars…”
“But all to no avail.”
“So I was wondering if you could show up there, assess the situation and maybe do your thing and get the Paris Polyphylla.”
“A pack of that is valued at nearly two billion dollars…that plant is the perfect description of a green gold.”
“Mr Lee, are you really sure that the Williams family are offering that amount of Paris Polyphylla to anyone who can heal Lady Beatrice Williams?”
“Yes, Mr Jack Adams, I'm really sure about what I'm saying, my sources are as valid as they come.”
“I actually have an insider in most elite families, as the leader of the Elite five families, don't you think that I deserve to have little information on the secrets of my people?” Mr Lee asked, smiling over the phone.
“I really don't have any interest in whatever you just asked, my issue is this…”
“You better be damn right about the Williams family having that amount of Paris Polyphylla because if not I will really be angry with you.”
“Yes sir, I mean yes Mr. Jack Adams.” Mr Lee immediately corrected himself, he was really warned by Scott Benjamin not to blow Jack Adams cover for any reason.
“So is that a yes from you, Mr Jack Adams?” Mr Lee asked.
“I think so, just make sure it's really Paris Polyphylla because we have a lot of these fake plants flying around in the black market.”
“I will Mr Jack Adams, someone will be at Thomas's mansion to pick you up immediately.”
Mr Lee said as he immediately cut the phone.
“This is a relief, now I just have to get two more items and we are ready to go.”
“What are you still doing here?!”
“Hasn't my granddaughter divorced your sorry a** already?!” Lady Nicole Thomas's voice rang in through the door.
“I'm really sorry Lady Nicole, I was just packing up my stuff to leave.”
“Well hurry up! You were never even supposed to be married to her at first!”
“I don't know what is with this generation with love and love and love…who in her right senses would even settle for a poor, unimportant and uninfluential man like you?!”
“I mean look at you, aren't you ashamed of yourself to be even working as a janitor in the same office as your wife?!”
“Nathan Leonard is way better than you will ever be!”
“He is currently the heir to the Leonard's group of companies and you are just…you!”
“Jack, you have really been a disgrace to this family and I'm really happy that Betty finally came to her senses and threw you out of her life.”
“Grandma…she didn't throw me out, I signed the divorce papers.”
“I was the one who decided to leave, and speaking of which, you don't even know me that much and I don't think it would be wise to judge a book by its cover.”
Lady Nicole immediately let out a funny laugh and soon almost the whole of the Thomas family were now inside of the room.
“Grandma, what is going on?!”
“Is the poor brat still here?”
“I was thinking he should have left already, we are expecting Lord Leonard's family soon and I don't want them smelling anything unusual.” Evans Thomas, one of Betty Thomas's cousins said, his voice laced with humiliation and disdain.
“I was just about leaving and I just hope that you people don't live to regret any of your actions.”
“Well, we regret one thing!”
“And that is not kicking you out sooner than now!”
“Do you even know what your marriage to Betty has cost this family?!”
“If Betty had married Justin Bradley or Nathan Leonard by now we would have been at the top tier family level, eating and dining with influential men like Mr Lee the president of Titanium Valley Group…”
“Or even Mr Eugene of the Eugene Global Groups.”
“Jack Adams, every moment I set my eyes on you and recall that you had really married my granddaughter, I feel like puking.”
“If you were the only man left on the face of the earth, I would rather marry a tortoise!” Lady Nicole Thomas said as every member of Thomas's family bursted into laughter.
“Are you all done laughing?”
“Can I please leave now?”
“My cab is already outside!”
“Grandma, don't allow that thief to leave this house!” The voice came from behind and it was Lisa Thomas's voice.
“This thief must have stolen my blue diamond necklace!”
“I can't find it anywhere in my room and he was the last person to be seen around my room!” Lisa immediately accused Jack.
The whole member of the Thomas immediately stared at each other in shock.
“Is he really a gold digger and a poor thief too?”
“What manner of man is he actually?”
“Grandma! If this is true Grandma we really can't let Jack leave this mansion!”
“We have to search for him and find Lisa's blue diamond necklace!” Evans immediately suggested to Lady Nicole Thomas.
“Jack, so you are not just a poor gold digger, you are also a filthy thief!”
“I really wished Betty was here to see the foolish lowlife of a man she was once married to!”
“Quick, Evans grab his bags, pour everything on the floor and search for that necklace!”
“Just pray we don't find that necklace in your bags, Jack Adams!”

Chapter 202
The air hung heavy with the scent of polished leather and faint gunpowder from the recent violence, shadows dancing from the flickering wall sconces as Jack and Steven locked eyes.Steven, seated in a high-backed leather chair like a king on his throne, leaned forward slightly, his silver-streaked hair catching the light, a cold smirk playing on his lips as he appraised his nephew."Well, well."Steven drawled, his voice smooth and laced with mocking admiration, rising slowly from his chair with deliberate grace."You actually have the balls to come and face me alone. No backup, no tricks, just you, storming my fortress like some avenging hero from a bad movie. Impressive, Jack. Foolish, but impressive."Jack's fury boiled over, his voice rising in a sharp, echoing bar
Chapter 201
Lord Leo roared, covering his eyes with one arm, his mane matted with smoke. "Can't see a damn thing!"Scott dropped to one knee, pistol drawn but waving blindly. "Stay together!"Through the haze, black boots thudded into the room, heavy, purposeful steps of intruders in tactical gear. Shadowy figures grabbed Whitaker, dragging him kicking and struggling toward the door, his shouts lost in the din.Jack, Scott, and Lord Leo struggled forward, coughing and waving away smoke, rushing after them into the parlor where the fog thinned slightly. Their gazes fell on two men in high-ranking uniforms, crisp, decorated with insignia, flanked by two burly henchmen in black armor, holding Whitaker down on the floor, knees pressed into his back."No!" Jack cried, his voice raw as he watched in horror. The uniformed men raised their pistols, firing two shots into Whitaker's chest, muffled cracks that echoed like thunder. Blood bloomed across his shirt, his body jerking before going limp, eyes sta
Chapter 200
"From Mr Steven Adams,Jack's uncle. He's targeting everyone connected to the old network, and you're next on his list."Whitaker nodded slowly, unsurprised. "Ohh, from Mr Steven Adams, Jack's uncle." He echoed, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Figured as much. The shadows have been closing in."Scott exchanged curious glances with Jack and Lord Leo, his brow furrowing. "Yeah... how did you know he wants to kill you? We pieced it together from encrypted data."Whitaker walked over to his ornate wine cabinet,a polished mahogany piece adorned with crystal decanters, pulling out a bottle of aged scotch with a soft pop of the cork. He poured himself a generous glass, the amber liquid swirling as he took a sip, savoring the burn before responding. "Mr Steven texted us,all of us on that damned list." He said, his voice laced with resignation, holding up his phone briefly to show a cryptic message: 'Your time ends soon. Loose ends must tie.' "Blunt as ever. Threatened to expose secrets
Chapter 199
The dimly lit foyer of Lord Harlan Whitaker's mansion was a study in old-world elegance, with polished wooden floors reflecting the faint moonlight filtering through stained-glass windows, and antique vases perched on pedestals like silent guardians. The air carried the faint scent of aged books and polished oak, now tainted by the tension of the standoff. Whitaker, his gray hair disheveled from the brief scuffle, lowered the splintered plank completely, his wild eyes softening as recognition fully dawned. He walked over slowly, his steps measured on the creaky floorboards, extending a hand toward Jack with a mix of astonishment and relief etching his aristocratic features. "Jack... it is really you." He said, his voice a hoarse whisper that grew stronger with emotion. "You are alive indeed. After all these years, the rumors were true."Jack reacted with a warm smile spreading across his face, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he holstered his pistol, the weight of the moment
Chapter 198
Meanwhile…Back at Steven Adams' opulent mansion in the city,a sprawling estate of marble columns and manicured gardens, lit by floodlights that cast long shadows across the facade, the meeting room was shrouded in dim light from crystal chandeliers, the air heavy with cigar smoke and the scent of aged whiskey. Steven sat at the head of a long mahogany table, his fingers steepled, face a mask of calculated calm. His allies,Marco, Viktor, and Hiroshi, sat around him, fidgeting slightly in their seats. After a prolonged moment of silence, broken only by the tick of an antique clock, Marco cleared his throat, leaning forward with a raised eyebrow. "So, Steven, why did you call us here if you're handling this personally? Thought you were the lone wolf now."Steven exhaled slowly, a deliberate breath that filled the room with tension, his blue eyes flicking up to meet theirs. "I need your help." He admitted, his voice steady but edged with vulnerability. "I can't do this all by myself.
