"Hey, come with me after work." One of the employees approached Adam. He and the others looked annoyed when they saw the young man.

Adam, who didn't understand what they meant, agreed. When office hours arrived, he went with his coworkers to an alley not far from the office. He had no idea why they had brought him there.

"What's wrong? Why are we stopping here?" Adam asked them.

There were five people standing in front of him at the moment. One of them was the one who talked to him before the bell went off. He came up to Adam with a serious look. Adam seemed to step back until his body touched the wall behind him.

"Are you a sycophant?"

"You dare to flirt with Elena?!"

Adam didn't understand what his friend was saying. He had never once flirted with Elena; the sexy woman who was the manager of his office.

"Liar!"

"You had dinner with her, right?!"

Adam was getting more and more clueless. He might have had dinner with her, but it was for work reasons.

"I only had dinner with her once. But that was because we were returning from a project." Adam tried to explain.

"Well, you finally confessed." The man smiled. He immediately grabbed Adam's neck with one hand.

"Please let go of your hand...." Adam tried hard to get rid of the man's hand.

"This is a punishment for you daring to interfere with my woman!" The man was very annoyed. He threw Adam like a garbage bag.

"Take the money." The man ordered his friends to take the young man's wallet.

"No! Please!" Adam tried to resist, but eventually they got the wallet.

All the money in the wallet was taken by force. Adam's debit and credit cards were broken into two pieces. After that, the empty wallet was thrown into a nearby trash can.

"Loser!" The others seemed to mock him.

Adam Warlock, a 25-year-old young man, could only be angry with his fate. He was very upset and tried to get back at them. But unfortunately he was alone. He was just a loser living in his comfort zone.

Because of a woman, he finally regretted his actions. Now that they had left him in the alley, Adam picked up his wallet. He had no idea that all his paychecks that he had taken during break time had disappeared.

He slowly got up again. Carrying his sling bag that had been soiled by splashing water, he walked back through the city to return to his home. He looked like a loser, which made him unappreciated. Especially his glasses. They made him look funny and disgusting. He even had a nickname as the loser employee.

"What should I do? I lost all my money. What to do now? There's no money left for tomorrow! Adam's mind began to wander too many things.

As he walked along the sidewalk by the roadside, he didn't notice that the sky had become very bright. He thought to himself, "Is it possible that the light is coming from the moon?"

"What's going on? Is this the effect of the medicine I took earlier? This all seems like a dream!" Adam doubted himself.

His eyes looked up at the sky when he saw several meteors passing by. "Meteor shower? But why so close?!"

As rumbling sounds and strong winds swept the air around him, Adam began to realize that the sounds were coming from an explosion that occurred not far from where he was standing. Not only that, dozens of meteors began falling and exploding in various places in the city.

"Look out!" Someone shouted very loudly.

After that, a huge explosion caused a rumbling sound and created a shockwave that swept through the air and surrounding objects. And he too was swept away with the others.

"What happened? Am I dead?”

There was only light shining brightly as far as he could see. Adam's body seemed to float in the air with the leaves. Slowly a buzzing sound began to disturb his ears. Very loud frequencies began to be heard clearly until he finally woke up.

"What's going on?!"

Adam took a deep breath. He breathed back in the air he had lost for a few seconds when the shockwave occurred. He realized that he had just fainted. Adam felt like his body was too heavy to stand up. His legs were also difficult to move, as well as his arms. All he could do was move his head.

"Where are all the buildings around here?" He was shocked. The shops and buildings around him had simply vanished. All that was left from the explosion was a large field littered with debris.

When Adam looked the other way, he saw something terrifying. He didn't expect to witness such a horrible thing with his own eyes.

"Wh-what is it?!" He was shocked. A black creature had just bitten the neck of a young woman not far from where he was lying.

"Stop... stop it!" Adam tried to scream. But his voice was ignored by the black creature.

The unknown creature continued to bite the woman's neck until it was severed. The blood oozing from the woman's neck was like holy water flowing into the creature's mouth. And when it was satisfied, the woman's neck was thrown away. Slowly the woman's body fell to the ground.

"What is that thing?! What's wrong with my body?! Shit! Shit! Shit!" Adam tried to remain calm, though his mind continued to rage like a person in a fight.

Seeing Adam lying helpless and staring at him, the black creature approached him. As it stood right in front of him, black smoke billowed from the creature's entire body.

"What are you?" Adam felt a strong sense of fear inside him when he saw the creature's body.

The creature had a pitch-black body like someone who had just been burned. The black smoke billowing from its body smelled like sulfur and ammonia, piercing the nose and making the stomach queasy. From its amber-colored eyes, it stared at the man while exposing its rows of sharp teeth.

"Humans... you are the best food in the universe!" The creature's words made Adam tremble all over.

"Don't eat me!" Adam tried to push the creature away. Unfortunately, it instead squatted in front of the man while strangling his neck.

"Your blood is so sweet! I need more of your blood!" The creature flashed a smile.

"Please stop! Don't kill me!" Adam did not stop pleading.

Within seconds, the creature stabbed Adam in the chest with its other hand. Fresh blood ran down the creature's arm and fell dripping to the ground. When the creature took Adam's heart, a small smile spread across its black lips.

After that, Adam was dumped in a random place. He lay helpless and dead. The creature ate his heart like it was eating a burger on the side of the road. When it had finished its snack, it left the place.

"No way... am I going to die?" He said in his mind.

He didn't feel his body, only his vision. Right in front of him was a huge light shaped like a giant ball. Huge, majestic, shining, luminous, and brilliant! Adam didn't know what it was. But certainly, it was like he was seeing the earth from outer space.

"What's going on?"

"Is this a dream?"

"Or am I dead?"

"Where is this?!"

"Please answer me!"

Adam was frustrated. He felt that what he was seeing was a hallucination of his mind. He didn't know if the light in front of him was real or not.

"If I give you one more chance, would you be willing to take it?"

There was a voice that echoed throughout the infinite room. He was talking to her. Adam did not know where the voice was coming from, but he felt that it was coming from the glowing object in front of him.

"Chance? What do you mean? Please explain!"

"Then, where is this?! Am I dead or is this a dream world?!"

Adam did not hear the voice again. But his vision changed to a beautiful garden. He seemed to be standing on the grass. Right above him was a tree that was so shady.

"A chance to live again and hunt down the creature that killed you."

Suddenly the voice was heard again, but this time it was very clear and the source came from behind. Adam quickly turned around. He was surprised to see himself standing in front of him.

"You... are me?"

"Who are you?!"
