"I have something important to tell him," Jeremy insisted.

"For the last time, do yourself a favor and leave while you still can, boy."

"Just let me talk to Mr. Havemeyer himself," he argued still.

"Go home," a loud beep rang.

"Just let me talk to him goddammit," Jeremy yelled on top of his voice, his throat patterned by veins.

"Mr?"

"Mr?"

"Fuck!" He cussed and pushed the machine.

Fuck!

In the proceeding seconds he stepped away from it walking off the sudden gust of energy that clocked him.

After a few to and fro movements he sat on the grass and put his hands over his head, his heartbeat began to race again, beating in heavy rhythms.

A stroke of lightning ran across the sky with the sound of thunder, then it suddenly began to rain.

The rain water served as a shower to Jeremy. He sat where he sat, not moving a slight inch for the rain.

"I'd wait... I'd wait..." He maffled to himself, shivering under the rain.

The morning sun quickly sailed pass the sky, then the afternoon sun followed, and then the evening took its turn with Jeremy now dried up from his wet clothes that are still on him.

He's flesh has shrinked, with his skin tone turned pale. However nothing compared to the dystopia in his mind.

Suddenly a group of cars from inside the estate drove towards the gate; two Range Rovers guarding a black Roll-Royce in their middle.

Jeremy quickly stood up and wiped his butt clean off the tiny grasses. The time he has long awaited was here; Mr Havemeyer was headed out.

As soon as the cars were out of the gate Jeremy started waving his two hands energetically at the middle one, running after it as it goes.

Finally, the cars halt.

A bodyguard came out of the front of the Roll-Royce and opened the back door waiting for Jeremy.

Jeremy hit the nitro on his run and immediately got in the car as he reached them.

As soon as he got in the back seat, the cold grimace of Mr Havemeyer met him.

"Mr. Havemeyer."

"What do you want?" His father-in-law spoke with a sense of urgency and exasperation in his tone.

"It's about your daughter," Jeremy went straight to the point. "She's having an affair with Ethan, your adopted son."

Mr. Havemeyer's eyes grew wide, with a mix feeling of shock and embarrassment; his eyeballs dancing around in confusion, "I thought they had turned from that shameful act. I thought she was in love with you!" he looked up to Jeremy. "Looks like you're not much of a man after all."

Jeremy's eyes got sour, "The kids. My kids. They're his too.".

A cloud of sympathy guided the billionaire's expression. "19 years of marriage and the kids aren't yours?"

He chuckled lightly, "My. I have given birth to a whore. And as for Ethan, I'd ripped his name out of my will."

"Sir..." Jeremy called with the demeanour of a beggar.

"What?"

"My house... They..."

Suddenly a loud bang sounded in the car with blood dripping from the torso of the other bodyguard in the driver's seat. Then the gun muzzle turned to Mr. Havemeyer and blew his brains out.

In a sudden twist of events, the driver dropped the gun in Jeremy's hands.

Jeremy immediately shook it off his palms, subsequently opening the door and jumping out.

"He's shot him! He's killed Mr. Havemeyer!" The rogue bodyguard yelled out in alarm.

Jeremy could clearly see the set-up now. He stood up on his feet and raced through the open field.

The suspense cleared out every thought in his mind, the only thing ringing in it was a prayer to run faster, faster than a bullet.

The bodyguards dropped from their cars and sighted the murderer they were told to see. While some chased, other's checked on the old man.

Caboom!!!

The two escort vehicles blew up into the air and back to the ground in craps. All the bodyguards that chased him with bullets brazing into the air froze and turned back to check on their buddies.

On the other hand, With fatigue getting the best of him, Jeremy slowed down in the isolated woods and ducked down to catch his breath.

Suddenly, his phone rang.

Jeremy wasted no time to pull it out. He stared at the mystery concealed by the caller ID which boldly read 'Private Number.'

Jeremy picked it up and listened quietly without saying hello.

"Jeremy," a loud laughter echoed through the phone. It was his brother-in-law, Ethan. "Give me a reason to not like you." He continued his meaningless laughter.

"First you marry my sister out of the house and act the role of her husband so I can have an affair with her without any controversies or suspicions. Then you take care of my children while I go about living the life that you dreamed of. And now you deliver my father into my hands. I'm next in line for the family fortune."

He chuckled again, his voice salted with mockery.

"I like you man. How can I not like you," his laughter continued.

Jeremy hung up and threw the phone in the bushes then instantly fell on his knees.

The tension was quickly building through his veins, his whole body shivering with his heart getting heavier every millisecond of the existence of the thought in his head.

He couldn't contain this violent energy anymore. He felt like he was about to explode. He raised his face up to the clouds and screamed...

"Fuckkk!!!!!!!!!!"

When he dropped his face back to the earth, tears stood on his eyelids. He couldn't hold it in anymore. He couldn't stand another minute to not prove wrong the famous stereotype that said "Men don't cry."

He quivered on his knees with a series of low agonizing sobs escaping his lips.

"Fuckkk!!!!!!!!" He screamed a second time like he was distracting his own mind from thinking. What was there to think about in today!

"What have I done wrong? Is love a crime? What have I done wrong!!!" He yelled out the last words raising his voice to the sky.

“Aiden,” Nick scanned him with his eyes. “You’re insane.”“Look at it this way, if we kill him, our secret dies with him, he can no longer threaten us.”“Mehn, it’s murder you’re suggesting here,” Nick threw his hands in the air. “We could get caught by the police, or even worst his gangsters.”“We could set him up. Nobody would suspect,” Aiden suggested.“I’m not killing anyone,” Nick walked out of the kitchen heading to the sitting room. “There has to be another way.”Aiden followed him, “There’s no other way. You really think he’s gonna let us off the hook even if we do what he asked for. He’d just keep coming back demanding for more. He has us in his pockets.”“I would trust him to honor his words…the deal,” Nick fell on the couch.Aiden stood over him, “Draco has got us wrapped around his arm. Nick, we have to get rid of him. I’m telling you there’s no other way.”Nick angrily bounced up the chair, “Since when did you become an assassin?” he walked forward and backwards again scr

So what was he doing here?” she raised another question.“He wants a prize,” Aiden answered without hesitation. For a minute there, Nick was stunned. He looked up to Aiden surprised he was about to tell her Draco’s bombshell request.“What does he want?”“A car. An old Mustang,” Aiden mentioned.Nick took a deep relaxing breath.Becky turned to him then back to Aiden, they could see the skepticism in her eyes.“I’d arrange for that. In the meantime, your long break is over. You’re going to work tomorrow. A

Both Aiden and Nick lay asleep on the couch with empty beer bottles around them and packs of chips scattered all around. Their center table had become a small party for ants.Suddenly a loud violent knock came from the door pulling them both out of sleep.“Urg,” Aiden stretched, looking around in his sleepy eyes when the violent knock echoed again.“Who’s there?” he reluctantly stood up and walked to the door.As soon as he opened it Draco entered without hesitation, “Good morning my debtors.” He said with a creepy smile, “I’ve come to collect my debts.”Aiden slammed the door in disappointment and followed after Draco who made haste to the living room.“Oh god!” Nick exclaimed as soon as he saw him, and sat up.“So I’ve taken time to think about my price,” he sat down with the same creepy smile he wore when he came in.“No more bullshit like last time. Just say it,” Aiden was already growing tired of his methods.“Relax friend, you’d like this,” he picked up three pieces of chips fro

Absolutely golden,” he smiled excessively. “I can’t believe the internet was trying to talk me out of it.”Aiden tried hard to hold his fake smile, “Do whatever sits right with you, buddy. The internet can be too judgmental sometimes.”“Exactly,” he agreed. “If a man wronged you, public humiliation like that should be priority.”“Oh Kevin honey, I forgot I had a doctor’s appointment tonight,” Grace joined the conversation. “I’m sorry I need to leave now.”Haven gotten what I came for I immediately jumped in and showed approval, “It’s no problem. The agent’s brain plastered around the wheels, his body lifeless on the floor.Nick too went on his knees. In disbelief he started tapping the agent’s leg, “Wake up. Please wake up.”“He’s dead,” for the first time Aiden looked away from the agent’s corpse, his eyes lost on the road.“I killed him,” Nick’s lips shivered on top each other. “I killed a man.
