"Oh my God," one lady exclaimed with mouth wide open as she drove by.
Everyone on the road immediately hit their brakes and were now in shock of the sudden accident. A man quickly came out of his car and hurried to Jeremy's pitchpoled vehicle, struggling to pull him out. To which he succeeded. Jeremy stood up on his feets looking like a drunk man. His unremitting staggering and the wide eyes scanning the area like he was in a whole new planet. He turned 360 degrees to former inspect his surrounding when the stranger who saved his life grabbed him, "Are you alright?" Jeremy nodded loosely and wobbled towards the corner of the street when a woman in rich fashionable attires blocked his path. Her skin smelled like money but it seemed her countenance wasn't right with him. "Are you crazy?" She yelled at him. "Driving while drunk! You could have killed innocent people." She pushed his lifeless body back with the edge of her purse, "Are you deaf?" He turned around to go the other way when she swung him back to herself, "I'm talking to you, you bum." She raised her hand the same instant and slapped him on the face! In defense, Jeremy lightly pushed her backwards which projected her to the ground where she landed on her butt. "How dare you touch my wife!" From out of nowhere a man around Jeremy's age charged at him, grabbing him by he shirt and smashing his back on the tail of a Jeep. "Jeremy," the man took his hands off letting Jeremy fall on his butt with his back rested on the Jeep. Unexpectedly the man bursted into laughter. "Oh what a small world. Remember when you were voted 'most likely to succeed' back in highschool? Now look at you, and look at me," he raised his hands up in style showing Jeremy the shimmer of his tuxedo suit. "You had the grades. You had the girls. You had everything I only wished for!" He flew into a temper. "To be acknowledged by my classmates and teachers. Now life has smiled on me, and look at you." He started laughing again giving the bystanders a show. "Hahahahaha," he raised his face to the sky laughing like a classic movie villain. "I'm sure Rita must have left you by now." Jeremy's fractured mind began thinking about her again, the scene of her treachery playing all over and over again in his mind in an inexorable rhythm. All this thoughts, all this hours old memories confined his mind in a dark sorrowful containment, crippling his brain from formulating a reply for the man; his upper lips merely just vibrating on the lower. "You gave up your life because you got a woman pregnant! Leaving behind your dreams to impress a woman who was born from a family high above your paycheck," he scoffed. "While I built my life and then got the woman of my dreams. I guess at some things I'm smarter than you." He started laughing atrociously again. "Was he a boy? The child she bore. He must be so ashamed of his father." Meanwhile the loud disrespectful laughter echoed at the background of Jeremy's mind while flashbacks of his many sacrifices for his family stormed his head. All this years he thought he was building himself an happy home with daughters smiling like Hailie Jade, and a son who would come to him at every turn of life. His classmate looked around and noticed the crowd of people watching are mostly dudes, then in a surprise move he gave his wife his phone to film and subsequently pulled out his penis to pee on Jeremy. Jeremy on the other hand was obnoxious of his environment at this point. His mind was lost in itself. With his job gone, he's certain that his house is gone. The car he sacrificed the house for is gone in an accident. His kids are gone. And his wife is gone. "I won't miss this for the world," the man peed on him. "What the hell is going on here?" Nick slowed his car to observe the crowd that was gathered around. To his surprise he saw his friend laying lifeless on the ground, being disrespected on camera. He rushed out of his car and pulled the phone from the woman, immediately smashing it on the ground. "What the fuck is wrong with you people!" He yelled at her and got into the man's face and pushed him backwards twice, his insides burning for a fight. "Let's go honey. I don't have time to fight with pigs," he turned around and walked to his car. While his wife picked up the scattered phone and followed him after giving Nick a disparaging stare down. "What's wrong? Move!" Nick disbanded the crowd, throwing his hands and shooing them away like fowls. Then finally he rushed to his friend, "What the hell, man! How could you let someone with a small cock pee on you like that?" Noticing his friend's haggard lineaments and the blood on his nose, his mood shifted, confusion lingering on his expression. "What happened to you, man?" "They're not mine. Nothing is mine," Jeremy spoke with mystery swirling around his voice. "What're you talking about?" He placed Jeremy's hand over his shoulder and picked him up, "Let's get you home, man." As soon as he was on his feets Jeremy left him and stood alone in a wavering pose. "Can I borrow your car?" He mumbled words with a wounded tone. "You're in no condition to drive bro. I'd get you home so you can clean up," Nick advised. "You smell like small weenie." "Fine," he sighed with heavy breaths like strength was literally leaving his body. "I'd just walk." In the same second Jeremy turned around and began his journey tottering forward with the wind guarding his steps. "Alright fine. Fine," Nick pulled the keys from his pocket and threw it at him. "Here." Jeremy caught it and headed to the car. "Are you gonna tell me what happened?" Nick inquired still. Jeremy started the car, "Pick it up at the train station." He drove away, his eyes reflecting on the side mirror with sudden rage in them; a rage that stank of purpose. ... Jeremy got to the train station and booked the midnight train back to the city that he grew up in. The whole night he stayed up just merely staring at the road trying to escape his own thoughts; no sleep, no sense of rest, sitting or lying down were disguised as instruments of torture. He finally got to the city and found his way to his father in-law's estate. He had planned to report the whole thing to him, maybe Ethan would no longer be in charge of the family's fortune when his old man dies. Or perhaps he might abandon him completely. Or perhaps he might disown his daughter for being a ho. Or perhaps he will have them arrested for having a forbidden affair. At this point Jeremy didn't really care what the consequences for their actions were. He was determined, he was desperate. He wanted something bad to happen to them really really quickly. He wanted to make them feel how they made him feel; a walking corpse. His sense of smell was already gone. He stank but the only thing he could think of is the depression wrecking him from inside like a brain tumor. Jeremy walked up to the front of the old aristocratic estate and pressed the intercom. "Hi, I'm here to see Mr. Havemeyer." "Who's this?" an AI voice echoed from the system. "His son-in-law, Jeremy." "Jeremy!" a masculine human voice answered this time, aged and grumpy. "For 19 years all the old man has ever talked about was killing you for stealing his daughter away from him. I'd be your superhero and ask you to turn around and walk away."
