After causing a commotion in the security office, Jonathan stood stiffly in place. Several security guards were still grimacing in pain.

At that moment, the door opened, and a young woman from the Human Resources Department hurried in carrying a stack of forms. Her hair was neatly tied back, and her face was filled with seriousness, as though she were racing against time.

However, she stopped in her tracks the moment she saw the scene inside the room.

"Uh... what happened here? Why is everyone lying on the floor?" she asked in confusion.

Captain Alex Amerdo immediately cleared his throat, trying to hide his embarrassment. He forced an awkward smile and explained with a mixture of truth and lies.

"Ah, it's nothing. Just a little training exercise. Ha ha... you know, to keep the boys sharp."

"Training?" The young woman frowned, clearly unconvinced by Amerdo's explanation.

Amerdo shot a sharp glance at Wiguna and the other security guards, signaling them to get up immediately. Grimacing in pain, they reluctantly forced themselves to their feet.

"Y-Yeah, that's right," Wiguna quickly added while dusting off his wrinkled uniform. "We were just sparring, weren't we, Captain?"

The other guards nodded repeatedly, despite the bruises visible on their faces.

The HR employee decided not to question it any further. She handed the folder containing the forms to Captain Amerdo.

"Captain Amerdo, please help this new employee complete these documents, then send them back to Human Resources as soon as possible. Starting today, he's officially assigned to your department," she said.

Amerdo paused for a moment before nodding expressionlessly.

"Very well."

After the young woman left, silence returned to the security office. Wiguna and the other guards could only exchange gloomy looks.

Jonathan reached into his pocket and took out a pack of cigarettes. He offered one to Captain Amerdo.

"Captain, let's have a smoke first. It'll make the atmosphere a little less tense."

Amerdo glanced at him. He still felt irritated, yet there was also a hint of curiosity. In the end, he accepted the cigarette without saying much and placed it between his lips.

Jonathan flicked his lighter, leaned forward slightly, and lit the captain's cigarette as though they had known each other for years.

"Here you go, Captain."

Amerdo took a drag from his cigarette. Jonathan lit one for himself, and white smoke slowly drifted through the air.

Sitting down, Jonathan picked up the forms and placed them in front of Amerdo.

"Well, this is how life is for ordinary people. You have to fill out a mountain of paperwork before you're even considered an employee."

Amerdo took a pen from his uniform pocket and handed it to Jonathan.

"Just fill out what you know. I'll help you with the rest."

Their conversation gradually became more relaxed. Every now and then, Amerdo asked in a half-sarcastic tone,

"Full name? Place of birth? Highest level of education?"

Jonathan answered casually, occasionally throwing in ridiculous jokes that forced Amerdo to suppress a smile despite still feeling annoyed.

This kid is stubborn, but he has his own style. If he's guided properly, he could become a formidable weapon. Otherwise, he'll definitely become a thorn in everyone's side, Amerdo thought to himself.

On the nineteenth floor of Dayantara Tower, the President Director's office was elegant and peaceful.

Mella, the young and beautiful company president, sat behind a large glass desk with her laptop open. Standing before her was Felinia Kurnia, her newly appointed assistant who had just returned from Magantara.

"Felin, starting tomorrow, you'll accompany me to our internal meetings. Also, I want the financial report from the southern branch on my desk before this afternoon," Mella said gently.

Felinia smiled while jotting down notes.

"Of course, Mil. Don't worry. I've been used to keeping up with your work pace ever since our college days. It's just that the scale is much bigger now."

While Mella was lost in thought, her phone suddenly rang.

Anastasya's name appeared on the screen.

Mella answered.

"Hello? What's wrong?"

Her cousin's emotional voice immediately came through the speaker.

"Mella! I'm so furious! Jonathan walked into my office this morning without even knocking! I was changing clothes! Can you imagine how embarrassing and infuriating that was? I almost wanted to kill him right there!" she exclaimed.

Hearing that, Mella couldn't hold back her laughter, making Anastasya even more irritated.

"Hahaha!"

"Hmph, you're actually laughing." Anastasya continued angrily.

"He doesn't have any education at all, Mel. No diploma. No administrative skills. In the end, the only place I could assign him was the Security Department as a security guard. But do you know what happened? Less than five minutes after arriving, he already caused a fight. He beat up several security guards until they were completely battered. That man is nothing but trouble!"

Mella took a slow breath, her voice remaining calm.

"Nastasya, don't judge him too harshly. Jonathan didn't come here to build a career or climb the corporate ladder. He's only working here for one reason, to pay off his debt. Just think of his stay here as temporary."

After ending the call, Mella turned around and saw Felinia covering her mouth tightly, her face flushed from holding back laughter.

"What is it, Fel?" Mella asked, raising an eyebrow.

Felinia could no longer hold it in and burst into soft giggles.

"I was just thinking... it turns out even a 'bastard' can be useful. So maybe there's no need to pay too much attention to him."

Mella snorted with amusement, trying not to smile.

Still teasing, Felinia continued,

"But it's kind of funny. Anastasya got that angry just because someone saw her changing clothes in her office? I mean, whose idea was it to change clothes at work? If someone walks in, of course they're going to see something."

Mella let out a quiet sigh before replying,

"I think what happened at the airport really was just a misunderstanding. Jonathan genuinely didn't do it on purpose. Besides, he already paid for it last night. Without his ID card, he couldn't even stay at a hotel. That must have made him even more frustrated."

Felinia nodded thoughtfully, her expression becoming serious.

"That's true. Then it's understandable that he exploded today. People who keep suppressing their anger are usually easy to provoke, especially when someone deliberately picks a fight with them."

Felinia understood that Jonathan had fought today because he was still carrying the frustration in his heart.

Mella looked at her friend and smiled faintly.

"Yes. No matter what, he only came here to repay his debt, not to cause trouble."

Felinia smiled as well, although curiosity still lingered in her expression.

"It's actually quite interesting. I'm curious to see how long someone like him can survive in a company this large."

"Now that I think about it, it's really strange. The security guards under Captain Amerdo are mostly retired soldiers. They all have discipline and real combat experience. Yet they were defeated so easily by Jonathan, whose face doesn't even look like that of a fighter."

Mella nodded slowly, narrowing her eyes as though analyzing the situation more deeply.

"I've been thinking the same thing. If it wasn't just a coincidence, then there's a good chance he's actually a martial arts expert. And if that's true, we may have just discovered a hidden treasure."

Now Jonathan was no longer looking only at the elderly woman's face. He could also see the threads of fate flowing around her body. A dense golden radiance surrounded her, a sign of immense fortune coupled with an equally great burden that had remained with her throughout her life. The elderly woman gazed at Jonathan for a long moment, as if trying to determine the true extent of the young man's abilities. Then, in a hoarse yet steady voice, she said, "In that case, don't tell me about my future yet. Prove yourself by revealing my past instead. Tell me who I am and what I have been through." The crowd immediately erupted into murmurs. "Whoa, that's a difficult request..." "If he gets it wrong, Jonathan is finished." "This is a real test." Patrick, who stood beside the elderly woman, folded his arms across his chest. His sharp eyes remained fixed on Jonathan, clearly prepared to intervene if the young man said anything inappropriate. Jonathan took a deep breath. This was exactl

In truth, the elderly woman lived not far from the town square. Every weekend, she would come there for a leisurely walk, enjoying the lively atmosphere while breathing in the fresh air beneath the banyan tree. She had actually been standing among the crowd for quite some time, quietly observing Jonathan from a distance. After seeing several of his predictions come true, her curiosity was piqued. In the end, she decided to step forward and personally test the abilities of this young fortune teller. As soon as she sat down on the small chair prepared for her, the middle-aged man behind her, Patrick, her personal bodyguard and most trusted confidant, immediately stepped forward to support her respectfully. His expression remained vigilant, as though he would not allow even the slightest threat to come near her.Jonathan felt his blood pumping with excitement. Confidently, he removed the black sunglasses that had been covering his eyes the whole time. The crowd was instantly astonished.

Because two consecutive fortunes came true almost immediately, Jonathan's reputation soared. More and more people gathered around him, and in just over an hour, he had already served more than a dozen customers. Every prediction was accurate, but the customers only gave small voluntary tips. Although his hat was gradually filling up, the money he had collected was still far from the amount he wanted.Jonathan grew dejected, wondering when he would ever reach his target. He silently calculated in his mind. "At this rate, even if I stay here until tonight, I'll only earn a little more. How am I supposed to reach ten thousand dollars? These people have it easy. My predictions are spot-on, yet they only give me two-dollar tips. But when they visit those fake fortune tellers, they're willing to pay tens of thousands." He grumbled in frustration. How could he be valued less than those fraudulent, lecherous fortune tellers? He glanced at his hat, now filled with stacks of bills. The crowd ar

On that bright Saturday morning, the town square was bustling with activity. Street vendors lined the sidewalks, children ran around laughing, and elderly people sat leisurely chatting with one another. Beneath the third banyan tree, a new sight caught everyone's attention: a simple stall with a small table covered by a black cloth. Behind it stood a wooden sign with bold words painted across it:"Face Reading and Fortune Telling. If I'm Wrong, It's Free!"Jonathan sat confidently behind the table. His hair was slicked back with pomade, a pair of dark sunglasses gave him an air of mystery, and an old hat rested on the table to collect payments. Bernad stood a short distance away with his arms crossed, watching curiously to see whether his friend's "side business" would actually attract customers.Less than twenty minutes later, a young woman approached with a panicked expression. She was breathing heavily, her hands tightly clutching the shoulder bag she carried."Sir, please tell my

Jonathan smiled faintly before raising his hand and pointing at Bernad's palm."I can read palm lines, calculate a person's fate, and sometimes I use small divination tools. I'm not as skilled as those famous fortune tellers, but it's enough to make people curious. I figured that instead of wasting my break time, I might as well use it to earn some extra money. To be honest, our salary is just too low."Bernad stared at him in disbelief. His face was filled with shock as he asked seriously,"My goodness! This is the first time I've heard you have such a strange ability. So, you're planning to open a fortune-telling stall?""Yes," Jonathan answered firmly. "I've noticed that on the dirt road west of the company, a few old men often set up fortune-telling stalls. Maybe I can join them there."Bernad immediately shook his head."Don't, Jo. That place is too quiet. The only people passing by are street vendors pushing carts or workers rushing home. If you sit there, you'll probably fall a

Leaving the President Director's office, Jonathan's steps felt heavy, but his expression had become much calmer. The anger that had flared up earlier had subsided by half. Deep down, he understood that although Mella had never shown a friendly face, her scolding and warning were not entirely driven by ill intent. There had been genuine concern hidden beneath her harsh words.Even so, Jonathan did not think much of the Sigoro Family. To him, they were nothing more than pebbles scattered along his long road. There were far more important matters than wasting his time thinking about the grudge of a spoiled rich man like Victor. At the moment, two problems weighed heavily on his mind. First, he needed to gather enough money to redeem his confiscated ID card, an essential requirement to get his administrative affairs back on track. Second, and far more urgent, he had to find his parents. They had been separated for far too long, and he no longer wanted to delay their reunion.Jonathan stop
