Chapter 1

Ch 01

In the middle of summer, atop one of the tallest mountains, two people of different ages stood together, quietly admiring the scenery as evening approached.

The young man had lived there for a long time, training under his Master for many years. Yet there were still so many things he could not understand about the man who had never once harmed him. It had always been that way, ever since his earliest memory of meeting him.

The middle-aged man looked at his disciple. "Do you still remember how long you've been here with me?" he asked.

"If I'm not mistaken, it's been nineteen years," the young man replied while looking at his Master's face.

A strong wind blew across the mountain, causing their robes to flutter wildly.

The middle-aged man let out a sigh. "So it's already been that long. I never imagined time would pass so quickly. I still remember when you arrived with your Senior Brother. You were only seven or eight years old back then. Now you've grown into a handsome young man, while I still look exactly the same."

Jonathan felt the wind brushing against his face. He closed his eyes for a moment as he listened to his Master speak. When his Master finally fell silent, he gathered the courage to ask, "Master, how old are you now? I've always been curious."

His Master looked at him for a moment and smiled. "Can you guess?"

"No, Master. Because it feels like you've never aged at all," Jonathan answered honestly.

"The truth is, I'm already more than three hundred years old," his Master replied.

"Ah, really, Master? Isn't that a bit of an exaggeration?" Jonathan asked in shock, staring at his Master as if trying to find even the slightest trace of deception.

"Hahaha. It may sound unbelievable to you now. But once you reach the same Realm as I have, you'll experience it yourself." He laughed softly before patting Jonathan on the shoulder. "Over these past three centuries, you are the most talented and the finest disciple I have ever taken."

"Master gives me too much credit. Many of my Senior Brothers have already reached Realms far beyond mine."

"Don't be so humble." His Master smiled before continuing, "I've already taught you everything I know three years ago. Yet your progress has completely stagnated. I've made my decision. Starting tomorrow, you'll leave the mountain and gain real-life experience."

"Master, haven't I already gone down the mountain many times? What kind of experience is there that I haven't already gained?" Jonathan asked. Deep down, he didn't really want to leave.

Most people would be delighted if they were given such an opportunity, but he was different.

"This time is different from your combat experience in the Western Region. This time, you only need to train within the country," his Master said gently.

He then took out a plane ticket and an identification card. "These belong to you. Your Sixth Senior Brother prepared everything."

Seeing them, Jonathan frowned. It turned out this conversation had merely been a formality. Everything had already been arranged.

"Your hometown is at this address—Vaganza City."

Looking at the address, Jonathan knitted his brows. "Vaganza City? I don't remember anything about it."

"Actually, this was your Sixth Senior Brother's doing. While passing through that city, he discovered an exceptionally talented child and brought him up the mountain. Worried that the child would become homesick and interfere with his training, he sealed all of his memories from before the age of seven."

"Huh?!" Jonathan never expected that he had actually been taken to this mountain by force to train. He didn't know whether he should be angry with his Sixth Senior Brother or not.

His Master spoke again, "Let me remove the seal."

He raised a finger to Jonathan's forehead and pressed lightly against a single point. A golden light immediately pierced into his mind.

Whoosh!

The lost memories flooded back into his mind in an instant. Had his mental fortitude been any weaker, he would have screamed in agony. Among the restored memories were an old residential neighborhood, his parents, his little sister who had still been very young at the time, and finally, one of his childhood friends.

His Master then handed him a mobile phone and 2000 Dollars. "Your Fifth and Sixth Senior Brothers' phone numbers are already saved in the phone. Use this money for your journey."

Jonathan accepted them and slipped them into his pocket before asking, "How is Fifth Senior Brother doing?"

"Hais, your Fifth Senior Brother has gone astray." His tone carried a hint of disdain as he continued, "He's become too absorbed in worldly affairs and his political career. But if you ever run into trouble involving the government, you can contact him for help."

As the sun finally disappeared beyond the horizon, his Master gave him one last instruction. "Tomorrow, you must descend the mountain on your own. And for the next three years, you must never reveal anything about our Sect to the outside world. Do you understand?"

"I understand, Master!" Jonathan answered firmly.

"For these three years, unless your life is truly in danger, you are not allowed to return to the mountain. I hope that when you come back, both your body and soul will have reached a much higher level."

After saying those words, his Master vanished without a trace, leaving behind nothing but the whispering wind and Jonathan standing there in solitude.

"A higher level? I can't wait to reach it. To possess power like Master's... that would be incredible. Outer World... here I come."
