Chapter 8: Shocked

Josh's was quite surprised, but he composed himself. He removed his eye as if he didn't see her and approached the counter where he would get food for his friend.

Morgan; Josh's ex was surprised at the flicker of his eye. Josh dress and manner of composture surprised her.

She almost couldn't believe it was him. While he was still bewildered, he saw Josh at the counter trying to get food in that expensive restaurant.

'I thought this restaurant is for classic men, what is this dwarf doing here!' Morgan raised her eyebrows. She was inconvenient with the way Josh very confident about himself.

Morgan decided to drag him in the mud. 'His new boss is pretty taking care of him! Look at his dress now. I think he was given money to get some things here … I will make him a laughing stock in front of everyone!' She concluded within herself and set her plan in motion.

She walked directly aiming at the office of the manager.

"Mam! What do you want?" The waitress said when she saw she aiming at the managers office.

Morgan's walk was obstructed that she had to wait. "I need to see the manager right away!" She said.

"Give me that and add that chicken too!" Josh ordered, not knowing what was coming for him.

"Okay, but what for?" The waitress asked.

Morgan rolled her eyes in its socket. "That's none of your business. Call the manager out for me now!" She ordered in a rude manner.

The waitress almost hissed, but she comported herself and walked directly to the office of the manager.

Getting in, she said, "good sir! A woman outside wanted to see you!"

Immediately she dropped those words, Morgan didn't let her finish when she had her way into the managers office. Her face was brewing with intense anger.

The manager, on sighting her said, "please excuse us! I think this is serious!"

"Okay, sir!" The waitress took her leave. She wondered what could be so important that she couldn't wait.

Anyways, it was her choice.

Morgan was looking directly into the eye of the manager, "I thought this restaurant is for classic men and women," she paused to catch a few breath.

"Yes! That's right," he replied.

"Then, why do you have dwarfs in the building. People that can't even afford to take proper care of themselves," she said.

The manager contrasted his eyes. He was quite surprised, because people that are entering to the restaurant are properly scrutinized.

"Is he still in the building?" He asked.

"What kind of dumb question is that? Come kick him out with your bouncers, please!" She said.

The manager found that offensive, but he must do his job. He stood to his feet, "show me to the person!" He said.

"Gladly….!" Morgan replied. She walked briskly out of his office. The manager followed suit.

"That's okay, add that juice!" Josh said.

Drawing close, Morgan said, "that's the man standing over there!" She said, pointing her hand.

Sighting the man from where the manager was, there was nothing bad in his outfit. The man was looking okay and perfect.

"Are you sure that's the man?" He asked.

Morgan's feet halted. She faced the manager straight away. "Are you dumb or something? Cause I don't seem to understand you!" She yelled at him.

That caused a little commotion which resulted in everyone's attention being drawn to him.

Josh didn't look sideways, he intentionally fixed his eyes on what he was doing.

Not quite long, the manager reached his position. While he was still being sluggish, "get him out already!" Morgan yelled.

The manager doesn't want to be disrespectful. So, he was polite.

"Hello, Mr! We don't allow peasants here. How did you get in?" The manager said.

Josh turned to face him right away. The managers eyed widened, his heart raced hard against his chest.

He swallowed his saliva at that point while he was almost shivering.

"Sir! I apologize for my manner of approach, I don't know it was you!" He said with a strong bow.

Morgan was taken aback by his action. "What… is happening here?" She looked lost.

The manager was about speaking, Josh intercepted him, "don't say a word! Get her out of this restaurant. I don't want to ever see her here again!" Josh banned her.

The manager in fear faced her, "please madam, get yourself out of this place!" He said.

Oh! Morgan was surprised that the table had turned against her. She scoffed. "I should be the one to get out? Do you know who I am?"

While she was still bragging about her father's luxury mansions and cars, the manager clapped his hand which called the attention of the bouncers that are within that range.

The understood the mission. Getting close enough, they laid their hand on her.

Immediately, she leased a hot slap on of the boucers face. "How dare you touch me? My skin is expensive than this whole restaurant!" She raged out.

"Bounce her out!" The manager said.

In anger, the managers lifted her off the ground. Morgan didn't rest, she continued fighting and shouting until she was thrown outside.

Morgan was completely disgraced.

The manager faced Josh, "I am sorry once again, sir! You can come here as often as you want!" He said.

Josh smiled, "thank you!" He said.

The manager didn't stop at that, he faced the waiter and those people at the counter, "any time you see this man here, give him anything he wants for free!" He said.

All he was doing was to buy his favor. He knew he was the next in line to be the CEO.

"Thank you for your kind gestures. I will take my leave now!" He said and walked out of the restaurant.

Blinking his eye, he got into the car and started the car engine.

Josh wouldn't stop smiling in his car. He enjoyed the humiliation that she faced. 'That serves her right! Next time, she would mind her business,' he retorted.

Josh drove through the distance, he arrived at the hospital in no time. Getting down, he breath in some fresh air and walked into the hospital.

Getting in, Andrea sighted him at once. He had been waiting for him for some minutes now.

"What took you so long?" Andrea was forced to ask.

"I am so sorry, man! I ran into a small trouble!" He said.

"I am dying of hunger here, let me have the food!" He said, looking all over Josh.

Josh gave it to him. Andrea quickly collected it, he was more than very hungry.

He positioned himself quite well and opened the food.

The aroma of the food was by far alluring. Andrea couldn't hold himself anymore. Some saliva secreted in his mouth.

He shoved the spoon into the food, having it touch his mouth, it tasted heavily.

He took the first and second spoon, "this is very sweet!" He said aloud without really speaking to anyone.

Josh's face molded with a smile. He was happy he pleased him.

"Eat up," Josh said.

Andrea continued ravishing the whole food while he took the juice with it.

Not quite long, he had successfully finished with what he was eating. He barged out, but he used his hand to cover his mouth.

He felt so full. "Thank you! So, what did you say happened?" he asked, his shallow seemed lively.

"I ran into my ex. She wanted to disgrace me, I am happy otherwise happened," he said.

Andrea nodded his head. "That's good for her, the fool literally delayed you!" He said

Josh smiled. "Yeah, but I don't think a fool qualification would be the best for her!" He said.

Andrea understood him. "Yeah! Sorry for that, I got carried away!" He said and heaved out a sigh.

"How is your little sister!" Josh asked.

"She will be fine I believe. The doctor had a good report of her when he came out from the surgery room, but they weren't done," he said.

"I can now see why you are a bit lively..! That's good, man!" He said.

Andrea smiled a little, but he was still very much bothered about her.

Josh, after he had seated for quite a while, he said, "I need to start going home now!" He said. Josh wasn't in a rush, it was already getting dark. He knew they would all have been gone, including his brother.

"No problem! Thank you so much, Josh! I owe you one," he said.

Josh nodded his head and headed back home after exiting the hospital.

He drove through the distance, getting home, the party had been concluded already. Everyone had gone home, including his brother.

He exhaled and proceeded into the mansion. Getting into the mansion, he saw his father in the sitting room watching the TV.

Franklin heard the sound of the door. He knew it was Josh.

"You don't to greet your father!" He said, before he decided to face him.

Josh that thought he was sneaking successfully halted and looked at his father. "Okay….good evening! Dad," He said.

Franklin knew he was still mad at him. So, he decided not to stretch it.

"You can go, son!" He said. Franklin faced what he was doing.

Josh walked into his room and closed the door behind him. The day was really an hectic one.

He sighed and crashed on his bed.
