Chapter 15 - Behold Your Monarch

Chapter 15 – Behold Your Monarch

“You... You please leave him out of this!”

Thomas’s voice revealed the anger that overwhelmed him. His face turned pale red and a couple of thick veins appeared on his forehead.

A menacing laugh escaped Leo’s lips and he did not attempt to control it, “Give me ten reasons why this kid should not die in my arms?”

“Please! He’s a baby who is even oblivious to his surrounding. He knows nothing! And by the way, I don’t remember knowing you, neither have I ever killed anyone….”

“Shut up! You’re talking too much.”

The atmosphere suddenly became silent as Leo’s eyes keened at the newborn who slept peacefully.

The silence, however, was suddenly interrupted by a wail that vividly erupted from the child whose eyes flickered open and immediately began to tear up.

“Please! Don’t do this to me.”

Leo turned his gaze to the sobbing father who suddenly began to shiver in fear.

The great dragon that hovered above his eyes gave him heartache as it mightily flew across the dark sky.

“Stop!” Thomas screamed when the event got overrated and he cowered to the ground with a thick breath.

Leo removed his gaze from Thomas’s eyes and back to the child who went into another round of wailing and crying.

“Imagine your newborn, having a such murderous view, just a matter of seconds and he’ll be dead within mere seconds!”

“Please stop! I’ll kowtow on your feet, kiss the dirt off your feet, and do anything you want but please, don’t do anything to him!”

Leo had an evil smirk as his eyes slowly left the teary gaze of the newborn, “How about you….”

When he was about to complete his statement, he felt an immense force push him far from the bungalow house, and the baby floating restlessly in the air.

It was Samantha, Leo’s wife who’d awakened with the commotion outside, only to realize that her dearest child wasn’t in his crib.

“Damn to you, you despicable monster!” Her voice raged as she carried the crying son from the air.

However, the monster looked like it’d lost a nut as it made its way vastly toward the woman who only tried to protect her child.

Leo jumped on his feet as quickly as he abruptly fell to the ground and he drew his palms into the air, seizing the action of the monster who was ready to rip the woman to a premature death.

“I will not fight today!” As the massive monster returned to its master. Leo wiped the dirt that glued to his seemingly already dirty outfit.

“I will fight when the day is right! Expect something beyond your imagination very soon. It will be brutal and unruly.”

As slow as his blood-curdling words, the monster as well as his shady appearance withered.

“Darling! Are you alright?” Samantha asked as the rage that overwhelmed her voice died down.

“No! Is Damon okay?”

Leo walks lazily across the Acred Forest looking as energetic as ever as if he’d been eating a couple of more Core pearls.

However, he looked like a beggar in his worn-out leather and miserable cloth.

‘One Barbed Akyln and I’m done for the day!’

Leo thought as he made his way into the somewhat deep forest. The sun was beginning to rise in the east, and the chirping of the small birds slowly resound from the forest.

After a couple of minutes of trekking and the latter stood before a medium-sized creature. Its skin was as pale as an egg, with a shape that could be considered humanoid.

SPLASH!

As quickly as his gaze collided with that of the beast, a goo of slime crashed onto his face.

While the creature had a defensive stance against Leo’s slightest retaliation, Leo looked irritated as the goo slowly dropped down from his face.

Fast creatures such as the Barbed Akyln would react so quickly even before the predator attacks.

“Hey, you? Aren’t you…”

Leo rolled his eyes and turned around to see the group of guards behind him, only standing a few feet away.

“What?” His simple answer widened the eyes of the guards and they didn’t hesitate to unsheathe their swords.

Simple people like these individuals were considered a waste of time to the lad who casually turned his gaze away from the six brave men.

“Ahh! Heaven’s mercy!”

While the guards screamed in terror as they began to swing their swords into the air, Leo paced out of the scene.

Vividly, the Barbed Akyln must have grabbed his opportunity to escape, and now, Leo had to find another unlucky prey.

After some more minutes, Leo once again spotted a Barbed Akyln preying on a small reptile.

Leo immediately summoned a few flying creatures that headed for the Akyln as soon as all their appearance were fixed.

The Akyln after seeing the fast-approaching small and unknown birds spat out a mouthful of goo and the birds quickly dodged it. The Akyln formerly round eyes narrowed at the creatures and a couple more mimics of his appearance appeared out of thin air and they began to spit at the small creatures.

Fortunately for Leo, his creatures were just fast enough to challenge the speed of the Akyln, but things got difficult the more the Akyln multiplied.

When the small birds were close enough to the Akyln, they shattered into over a thousand of blue dust. The Akyln in return fell to the ground as soon as the dust made contact with their skin, and they all burst into invisible dust until the original beast laid present in the surrounding.

“Step one completed! Next step is Bel…”

Leo arrived in the silent lair that was absent of any form of life.

“Emm… Bel?”

He shouted towards the deeper part of the cave which echoed his words. A dragon figure revealed itself from the shadows within the cave, and it slowly transformed into a muscular humanoid figure.

“Leo! You sound desperate?” Bel’s voice emanated from the surroundings and Leo composed a proud and disapproving smile on his cheeks.

“Me? Desperate? Not at all…”

“What do you want? A new clothing you’ve never asked for?”

“No… yes! I actually have an almost weird request?”

The supposed normal statement sounded like a question as it mustered out of Leo’s lips. He continued,

“A ma… magma dust? Emm… do you have any?”
