Chapter 25

~Court room, Chicago~

After acknowledging the judge, the opening speech was read before the judge commenced his speech.

“In today's trial, the murderer of James Yuri will face the law and its judgment. Can the accused stand please?” the judge ordered.

Lewis stood up and clasped his hands.

“Mr. Lewis Baker you are guilty for murdering James Yuri and therefore, by the power of the law and in the belief of true justice, you are therefore sentenced to death by hanging,” the judge ordered.

The crowd muttered among themselves. James' relatives and friends cheered because finally justice was served.

“Court adjourned!” The judge knocked the gravel. Then the members stood up in honor for the judge to exit.

After that, they started dispersing, leaving the room as they entered. Lewis stood motionless in the accused box.

Finally, it happened, he thought.

He looked around the room and locked eyes with Duke who was approaching him with an inexpressive face.

“Mr. Lewis, it's me again, Duke.”
