Yon and Yun exchanged glances for a split second, then their reflex was the same—run.

The two of them turned, about to dash toward the main gate.

But after only two steps—

Two hands moved as fast as lightning.

Thom grabbed the back collars of their jackets, one in his right hand, one in his left.

With a light pull—

Yon and Yun’s bodies were lifted. Their feet dangled about five centimeters above the ground.

“WHAT—?!” Yun struggled instinctively. Yon kicked his legs wildly like a cat lifted by its mother.

They were not small men. Each weighed nearly ninety kilograms, around one hundred eighty centimeters tall. Muscular bodies from regular physical training.

Yet Thom lifted them like two shopping bags. Without looking strained. Without veins bulging. Without his expression changing.

“Put me down!” Yun shouted reflexively.

“Yeah! Put us down!” Yon added in panic.

Their legs still dangled uselessly.

Yun turned his head with difficulty toward Thom. His face was pale. “Who are you really?”

Yon also shouted, “Why are you so strong?!”

Yun swallowed. “Your strength… it’s like the King of War…” he muttered unconsciously.

Thom remained silent. His hands steady.

The night wind blew gently, stirring the hems of their jackets that now hung helplessly.

“Let us go!” Yon snapped, trying to preserve what little dignity he had left.

“Why were you spying on me?” Thom asked.

The twins fell silent.

Yun, still panicked and half trembling, answered without thinking, “We were ordered!”

Yon shot him a sharp look. “Why did you tell him?!” he snapped irritably.

“I—I reacted without thinking!” Yun shot back, almost crying in frustration.

Thom raised an eyebrow slightly. “Who ordered you?” he asked again.

Yon clenched his jaw, trying to hold out. Yun, on the other hand, was breaking into a cold sweat.

Thom’s hands did not shift in the slightest. There was no sign he was tired from holding nearly one hundred eighty kilograms in total weight. Instead, Yon and Yun began to feel their breathing tighten as their collars were pulled upward.

Yun gave in first. “Boss Harmos!”

“YUN!” Yon nearly shouted.

“I didn’t mean to!” Yun defended himself again.

Thom looked at them in turn, his gaze expressionless.

“What does Harmos want to do to me?” he asked flatly. “Why is he spying on me? Does he want revenge because all his fingers were broken by me?”

Yun immediately turned toward Yon. This time he did not dare to speak carelessly. He had already slipped up twice. Better to let his brother answer.

Yon swallowed, still feeling pain in his neck from the tightly pulled collar earlier. In a hoarse voice he said, “We’ll tell you… if you put us down now. We could die choking on our own collars.”

Thom stared at them for a few seconds.

Then—

Without warning, Thom tossed them aside just like that. Yon and Yun’s bodies were thrown a short distance but hard enough to send them crashing onto the asphalt.

“UGH!”

“ARGH!”

They cried out in pain. Their backs and elbows struck the road surface. Yun grimaced as his ankle twisted when he fell.

Thom remained standing where he was. Calm. Unhurried.

“I’ve put you down,” he said lightly. “Now answer.”

Yon got up first, though unsteady, and saw an opportunity. His survival instinct kicked in. Without another word, he turned and ran!

“YON?!” Yun shouted in panic. “FUCK!”

Yon did not look back. He ran with a limp yet still fast, disappearing toward the main gate.

Yun froze for a few seconds, unable to believe he had been abandoned just like that. He tried to stand, but his ankle throbbed with intense pain. The moment he stepped on it, the pain shot up to his knee. He fell again.

Thom walked forward slowly. Not in a hurry. Not angry. That was what frightened Yun even more.

In Yun’s mind, every piece of what had just happened replayed—

How Thom had appeared without a sound.

How he had lifted two ninety-kilogram men like rag dolls.

How his gaze had remained calm as if all of it were ordinary.

Yun suddenly realized. They were not spying on an ordinary former soldier. They were provoking something far more dangerous.

Without thinking, Yun crawled slightly forward and then prostrated himself. He truly pressed his forehead against the asphalt.

“Please!” his voice trembled. “Let me live!”

Thom stopped one step in front of him.

“I’m just a subordinate!” Yun continued stammering. “I was only following orders! I don’t know anything other than being told to spy on you!”

He lifted his face slightly, covered in sweat and dust. “I already had a feeling… you’re not an ordinary person. The way you move… the way you lifted us… that’s not normal strength…”

His breathing grew ragged. “Boss Harmos said you were just a low-level former soldier. But that’s a lie. It has to be a lie!”

Thom looked at the man now kneeling and trembling before him. “I have no intention of killing you,” he said calmly.

Yun blinked rapidly, almost unable to believe it.

“But,” Thom continued softly, “if you keep coming with bad intentions, your life could indeed become short.”

Yun bowed deeply again. “I’ll tell Boss not to disturb you anymore!” he said quickly. “I swear!”

“Get up,” Thom said.

Yun hesitated, then slowly stood with his injured leg.

“Tell Harmos,” Thom said flatly, “that I don’t like him sending people to my house.”

Mr. Donald was startled to see Rachel’s stiff expression and Madam Yosie suddenly freezing. He looked at Thom with raised eyebrows, then let out a small, quiet laugh. “Oh, how very humble, Mr. Thom. You didn’t even tell your own family about this change in ownership? Remarkable.”Thom shook his head gently, his smile remaining calm. “My wife has known for a long time that I was the top investor in Lanster. It’s just that… all this time she’s been in denial,” he replied flatly, without any blaming tone, but sharp enough to sting.Mr. Donald immediately understood. His eyes flicked briefly toward Rachel, who was looking down, then toward Madam Yosie whose face had turned red from embarrassment and anger. Madam Yosie’s earlier jab had been far too excessive; the tense atmosphere at this table was clearly not just casual conversation. Thom’s relationship with his wife and especially with his in-laws—appeared fractured. Mr. Donald cleared his throat softly, deciding not to get involved in

Rachel swallowed repeatedly after hearing the answer from the security guard. Thom turned his gaze away from Rachel without waiting for any further answer. With a gentle motion, he carried Shenina, who immediately wrapped her small arms around her father's neck. "Come on, Jasmine," he said softly. Jasmine nodded, gave a faint smile, then walked beside him toward the grand hotel entrance. Rachel stood frozen for a moment. Her face flushed from a mix of annoyance and worry. Madam Yosie crossed her arms more tightly, her lips pursed. "He's really going to humiliate us in front of everyone," she muttered. Mr. Edmund let out a long sigh. He stared at Thom's back as it grew farther away. "Just let it go, follow him. Who knows, maybe Thom really can get us in. Since he's a former soldier, there might be some special exception for veterans or something like that. Events like this sometimes have unwritten rules." Madam Yosie snorted. "He's just an ordinary former soldier! This isn't a military reunion." Rachel bit her lower lip. "I don't want the guards to rej

To him, buying the car was just a simple decision.Rachel was still standing there, gazing at the car, then at Thom. Her mind felt chaotic. Finally she spoke in a cold tone, “Why did you buy such an expensive car?”Thom shrugged slightly, as if the question was very ordinary. “I needed it.”Rachel frowned. “Needed it?”Thom looked toward Shenina, who was still standing beside her mother while holding her small hand.“Yes,” he said calmly. “I bought it so it would be easier to take Shenina wherever she wants to go.” But he continued his sentence casually. “And also Jasmine.”That sentence made Rachel freeze.
