James let out a mocking chuckle, shaking his head as he looked at Yemin.

"That was the weakest lie I’ve ever heard," he said. "You? Dining with Marcus Chen and Ravol Company’s CEO?" He scoffed. "Do you even hear yourself?"

Katherine crossed her arms, smirking. "Seriously, Yemin. You’re embarrassing yourself. It’s one thing to get thrown out of a restaurant, but now you’re just making up ridiculous stories?"

The others around them laughed, their amusement laced with ridicule and disdain.

"Even if you somehow got inside, what makes you think they’d invite you to their table?" one of James’s associates sneered. "What are you, their personal waiter?"

Another snickered. "Maybe they needed someone to clean their shoes before the meal."

James smirked. "Honestly, Yemin, I almost feel bad for you." His voice was condescending, dripping with fake sympathy. "First, you get kicked out of your own home. Now, you show up at a restaurant where you clearly don’t belong, and instead of admitting it, you start spewing delusional fantasies?"

Katherine shook her head. "It’s pathetic. Not just your situation, but your character too. You really have no shame, do you?"

Yemin’s expression remained unreadable, but inside, a flicker of cold irritation began to rise.

James was enjoying himself now, but then—

"Oh! Speaking of bad character," Katherine suddenly said, her eyes narrowing dangerously. She reached into her purse and pulled out something small and metallic. A ring. "James, do you know what I found when I was cleaning up Yemin's things?"

Yemin's eyes widened as he recognized his mother's ring—the ring he had always believed belonged to Katherine. The ring that had been the only reason he married her.

Katherine's face contorted with rage. "You disgusting cheater!" she spat, her voice trembling with fury. "All this time, I supported you, carried you when you were nothing, and THIS is how you repay me?"

She thrust the ring toward his face. "This ring matches perfectly with one I found at my so-called 'friend's' house years ago. I took it, thinking it was just a cheap trinket. Never imagined it would expose your affair!"

“Found at your friend’s house?”

Yemin felt like he'd been struck by lightning.

His mind raced frantically. The ring... Katherine wasn't the one who saved him? Everything he'd believed about their relationship was built on a lie?

"You've been sleeping with that woman behind my back, haven't you? Using MY money, living in MY house, while sneaking around with some whore!" Katherine shrieked.

James and the others watched with growing interest, clearly enjoying Yemin's discomfort.

"You worthless piece of garbage!" Katherine continued, tears of anger forming in her eyes. "Did you think I wouldn't find out? Did you think you could make a fool of me?"

Yemin's shock slowly transformed into a cold realization. The woman he'd built his life around, protected, and married... was never the one who deserved it.

"How dare you look at me like that?" Katherine hissed, seeing his expression change.

Yemin’s lips curled into a slight, bitter smile. "How ironic," he murmured, his voice dangerously quiet.

"What did you just say?" Katherine demanded, her face red with fury.

Before Yemin could respond, a commotion erupted at the restaurant’s entrance.

A woman’s voice, clear and determined, carried over the murmurs of the crowd.

"Please, just let me through!" she insisted.

Yemin’s head snapped toward the source of the voice.

At the door, a young woman stood before the security guards, her hands clutching a folder tightly to her chest. She was beautiful—not in an overly polished way like Katherine, but in a way that radiated natural grace and quiet strength.

The security guard blocked her path, shaking his head. "I’m sorry, Miss, but you can’t enter without a reservation or an invitation."

"I don’t need a table," the woman said quickly. "I just want to speak to the CEO of Ravol Company. Just five minutes. Please."

The guard didn’t budge.

"That’s impossible," he said. "We can’t let just anyone—"

Faye had barely registered Katherine’s presence when she suddenly heard a sharp, venomous voice cut through the air.

"You bitch!"

She froze, turning in shock toward the source of the insult.

Katherine stood there, eyes blazing with pure hatred, her posture stiff with barely controlled rage.

"You finally show your true colors!" Katherine hissed, stepping forward aggressively. "How long were you planning on keeping up this innocent act?"

Faye’s brows furrowed in confusion. "What… are you talking about?"

"Don’t play dumb!" Katherine snapped. "I should have known you were a scheming whore the moment you set foot here!"

Faye stiffened, completely caught off guard. "Katherine, I don’t know what you’re talking about."

"Of course, you don’t!" Katherine mocked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Acting all innocent, pretending you don’t know what I found at home!"

Faye frowned, growing uneasy. "Found… what?"

Katherine laughed coldly, then turned to James. "A cheap ring. What I found in Yemin’s things."

For the first time that night, Yemin paused.

His eyes flickered toward Faye Langford.

But even as he asked the question, he knew the answer. Yemin Morgan's reach was apparently far more extensive than anyone had realized. While Justin rotted in his cell, Agent Collins was busy implementing his emergency protocol. The first stop was a rundown apartment building on the east side, where he found Marcus Webb, a low-level drug dealer who had witnessed one of the Sphinx's operations."Please, man, I don't want any trouble," Marcus pleaded as Agent Collins kicked down his door."You testified against my boss," Agent Collins said coldly, pulling out a silenced pistol. "That was a mistake.""I didn't have a choice! The cops said they'd put me away for twenty years if I didn't cooperate!""And now you're going away permanently."The gunshot was barely audible through the silencer, but Marcus Webb's body hit the floor with a definitive thud.Agent Collins's next stop was the office of forensic accountant Sarah Mitchell, who had been instrumental in tracking the Sphinx's financial

The chaos outside Justin Castellanos's building was unlike anything the city had seen in years.Camera flashes erupted like fireworks as reporters pressed against the police barriers, their voices creating a deafening cacophony of questions and accusations."Mr. Castellanos! How do you respond to allegations linking your company to multiple unsolved murders?""Is it true that you ordered the assassination of key city officials?""What about the bribes to judges and politicians?"Justin's face was a mask of barely controlled fury as he was led through the gauntlet of media attention. The handcuffs bit into his wrists, but the humiliation cut far deeper than any physical discomfort."This is a fucking witch hunt!" he snarled at the nearest reporter. "You vultures don't know what you're talking about!"A reporter from Channel 9 pushed her microphone closer. "Mr. Castellanos, sources say you've been operating a criminal empire for over two decades. Do you deny these charges?""I deny ever

"Sir, maybe we should lay low for a while," Vincent suggested cautiously. "Yemin is starting to look more dangerous than we initially thought. Maybe even more dangerous than his mother was."The mention of Elena Ashford only fueled Justin's anger further. "Don't you dare compare that upstart to her. Elena Ashford was a formidable opponent, but she was predictable. This... this is something else entirely."Before Vincent could respond, another subordinate burst through the office doors, his face pale with panic."Sir! Sir, we have a problem!""What now?" Justin snapped."The police are here looking for you, sir. They're asking questions and demanding to speak with you personally."Justin scoffed in disbelief, his anger momentarily replaced by incredulous laughter. "The police? Here? Do they have any idea who they're dealing with?""Sir, they seem very serious," the subordinate continued nervously. "They're not taking no for an answer.""Then go out there and remind them who signs their

Faye stood in the doorway, her hands trembling slightly as she met Yemin's gaze. The weight of her guilt was evident in every line of her posture, and when she spoke, her voice was barely above a whisper."Yemin, I came to apologize," she began, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I know I have no right to be here after what I did."Yemin stepped aside, allowing her to enter. Marcus Chen gathered up some of the sensitive documents from the desk, giving them privacy while remaining close enough to intervene if needed."Faye, you don't need to—""No, please let me finish," she interrupted, her voice growing stronger. "You warned me that things would get dangerous and bad. You told me that being close to you would put me at risk, and I promised I would stand by you. I said I would be with you no matter what happened."Yemin watched her carefully, noting the pain in her expression. "Faye—""But when the time came, when you actually needed me, I froze up," she continued, her voice brea

Prosecutor Alex Morrison shouted desperately, jumping to his feet. "This line of questioning is irrelevant to the charges!""Overruled," Judge Patricia Williams replied firmly. "The witness has testified extensively about intimate knowledge of the defendant's body. This question is directly relevant to her credibility.""It's a very simple question, Ms. Martinez," Yemin said calmly, his voice carrying clearly through the silent courtroom. "If you've seen me naked a hundred times over several months, surely you can describe what's on my chest and torso?"Rebecca's eyes darted desperately toward the prosecution table, silently pleading for help, but Morrison and his team had no way to assist her without revealing their knowledge of the fabricated evidence.Realizing she had to say something, Rebecca decided to t
