[ Target is preparing a spell, Beware ]
William observed the warning with a grin on his face. His eyes lingered on the movement of Nervered who was preparing a spell, taking in every motion. "This is bad, hero!" The soldiers began to panic and even tried to warn William to back away from Nervered. But William was adamant. He remained unfazed, his eyes locked on the cultist. His confident reaction in the face of danger made the cultist chuckle admirably. A few seconds passed and Nervered finished preparing his spell. A mesmerizing glowing magic circle appeared in his outstretched right hand. The magic circle materialized into a wisp of blue fire right under their gaze and in the next moment it shot towards their position at an astonishing speed. The soldiers panicked right away. The fireball was too fast for them to evade at such a close distance, and even if they did manage to dodge it, it would only strike the royal tent and hurt the king. They involuntarily froze on the spot. "Too slow!" William muttered as he launched towards the fireball. Under his enhanced perception, the fireball was only as fast as a golf ball thrown by a strong athlete and thus it didn't take that much effort to deflect it with a single, precise swing. The sound of the sword hitting and dispersing the fireball vibrated across the encampment, shocking both parties. "What?" Nervered's eyes widened in surprise. "How did you do that?" He turned to look at William and exclaimed, astonished. He could not believe that a scrawny teenager had deflected a spell that had taken him years to master. It was impossible. Nervered prepared another spell of the same element, several fire spikes darted towards William but to his surprise, they were easily deflected. He repeated other dangerous spells but they were useless. Reality quickly dawned on him. He stared at the hero, bewildered. Now, looking at William, he no longer appeared as the scrawny teenager he thought he was, but a master of the sword, one with a power that far surpass his own magic power. Only now did he realize his confident earlier weren't out of stupidity but out of trust in his own strength. William, on the other hand, still did not stop smiling confidently as he began strolling towards the puzzled Nervered. He only toyed with the cultist verbally earlier to gauge his magical powers since he had no skill to tell how strong a person was. He was able to confirm just how strong he was from his spell casting time and how easy it was for him to deflect it. "Scrawny teenager, right?" William taunted as he began closing the distance between both of them gradually. The cultist could be seen taking several steps back due to fright. "Stay back and I won't hurt you. I am only here to take the king with me!" Nervered responded while backing up. William chuckled and spoke back coldly, "You are still bold enough to make such threat in my presence, how deary." "I am warning you, stay back!" William could see fear dancing in the eyes of the cultist, and it gladdened his heart. He continued taunting him with his steady steps and cold replies, fueling his terror even more. Nervered realized his situation and began chanting another fireball spell while backing up. He fired the spell at William but he easily deflected it with a simple flicker of his sword. He tried thrice more and each attack failed to deal any damage. He was stoned with the realization of just how weak he was before the scrawny teenager and only a single word appeared in his head — "Run!" Unfortunately, he couldn't — he was like a prey paralyzed with fear. Theobald and the others watched the scene with amazement and relief. The hope they lost earlier returned thanks to the hero braveness and strength. 'So masculine!' 'How beautiful! If I was a girl, I would be impregnated just by standing close to him,' Different thoughts ran in the mind of a few soldiers. Even Inside the tent, the king and the wizard were also relieved as they watched the scene through a small opening on the walls of the tent. "Stay back!" As William got closer, Nervered's fear intensified, every word that came out of his mouth became nothing but frightful screams, like a cornered prey. As he attempted to take another step backwards, his feet stomped on the body of a dead corrupted human and he fell on the ground disgracefully. Even on the ground, crawling away from the hero became his only option. William enjoyed the expression on his face. He enjoyed the feeling of being the predator — On earth, he was always the prey running away from the strong but here and now, he was the strong opposite of his former self. He could not wait to complete this mission and return back to earth and rain down terror on those who made his life hell on earth. He would pay back their humiliation in manifold. Simply thinking of what he would do when he returned back to earth fueled his motivation to complete the mission as soon as possible. "I have wasted enough time on you already." William took longer strides and appeared before the cultist right away. He grabbed Nervered by the neck and lifted him a few centimeters up to ground. Despite the huge build of the cultist, he was only as heavy as a ragdoll in William's grasp. His tight clutches around the neck of Nervered caused the later to choke and struggle for breath, his leg kicking weakly in the air. Nervered struggled to meet the eyes of William that reflected the flames of the burning tents and he shivered. William grinned and spoke in a threatening tone, “You have two choices, tell me everything about your cult and its hideout and I might let you live, though you’ll leave badly wounded. Or keep your secrets and face a slow, painful death. Choose your poison.” "T-the gravemind secrets shall not be revealed!" Nervered struggled to reply while catching his breath. William tightened his grip on his neck, causing his eyes to roll back in pain. He repeated his question once more. "I shall die with those secrets!" Nervered was adamant about keeping the secret of the cult. "What was I expecting in the first place? A cult like gravemind would never spew out secrets so easily." Disappointment flickered across William’s face as he tightened his grip around Nervered’s throat. The cultist struggled, his legs kicking wildly for several seconds—then suddenly went limp, his body sliding lifeless in William’s hand. Early morning had already arrived over the dark island. The sun shone brightly over the evil island, radiating a strong golden glow and heat. The sun easily permeated the small confinement of the room which only comprised of a few wooden chairs, a bed and a tall wooden cupboard where the previous owner of the room kept their wands and attires.Inside a spacious, dimly-lit room at the dark island, the core members of the two groups could be seen standing around a small desk.Melissa and Peterson brought out a more detailed ancient map of the place and described it to William and Theobald who represented their group. Only two members were allowed to attend the meeting thus both of them were sent."The first three floors are very easy to clear, they comprise mostly of mid-level apprentice wizards with barely enough mana in their mana reserve to cast powerful spells. While they are a little bit stronger than the wizards guarding the fences, they are not that much trouble for a well-traine

The crew ended up spending more than half an hour discussing about the plans to infiltrate the dark tower, how to act within it, how to avoid suspicions, path to follow, and where to find certain important people inside the tower. Most of the explanation was done by Peterson, the trustworthy assassin of Melissa's squad. His information and description were clear and vivid—better than reading it from a map.Melissa and a few members of her squad also added to the information available. As they had been around the tower for several days, their understanding of the place was an important lesson to William and the others.During their discussions, they had to halt several times—either when the surveillance light flashed in their direction or when actual members of the cult walked by.They were able to finish their discussion without drawing that much attention to themselves. After they were done discussing, they began preparing to act on the plans they had just finalized."Here."Melissa

Why were they so different from the others? he asked himself.William kept his eyes on the small group as they closed in on each other. His eyes was fixed on that of the biggest one in the ground who, coincidentally, also had his eyes locked with his. William could sense weird emotions from his eyes as they jammed; it was something between hatred and disgust. The two groups were just a few meters away from walking past each other. The silence between them stronger than ever, almost as

A few men adorning dark robes and masks could be seen patrolling the mighty fence that enclosed the evil gathering of Gravemind cult. They walked in separate groups, each of them moving in different directions, ensuring that all the perimeter of the fence was covered at all times.A small group of three cultists could be seen strolling together while discussing amongst themselves, unaware of the arrival of an unstoppable opponent."I heard the great leader would be arriving tonight," one of them brought up a new conversation."Frederico told me about that a few hours ago, I thought he was lying. So you guys heard the same thing?" The one in the middle replied."Frederico wasn't lying, I overheard two of our superiors discussing about his arrival.""I suspect something important would go down in a few days. The great leader never visits the tower unless for a very important event, could it be that the preparing of the grand ritual has been completed and he is here to finalize it?"The

William and the crew could be seen strolling towards the vast water body with silent and cautious step. At the moment, each of them had a long black fabric covering their head. The black fabric served as a camouflage each time the beam of the light rotated in their direction. As the land was plain and filled with dark sand and skeletal remains, covering themselves in black clothings made them more difficult to detect from afar.Thankfully, this barren land had no sort of abnormalities, not even corrupted creatures that usually raided the night. If there were unlucky enough to have faced anyone, their location would be revealed to the cult once and their entire plan would be ruined."Walk faster! We need to be at the island before morning arrives!"Theobald announced to the others while strolling beside the hero. Both of them took long strides forward, their eyes cautiously scanning their surroundings from time to time.King Julian and the others increased their pace and soon caught up

After the peculiar sensation of passing through the portal faded, William found himself standing in a strange, unfamiliar location."Wow!"The scene before him prompted the hero to exclaim in genuine astonishment.Spread before his eyes was a vast, barren land plunged into darkness and gloom. Only the faint crescent light of the full moon hanging in the sky battled the intense blackness. Not far from his current position, William’s gaze fell on a truly vast, large water body that stretched over a long distance, seemingly unending from his perspective. The hero needed no geography expert to tell him this was Dark Island, the sacred landmark and hideout of the most terrifying dark wizard cult in this dark world. The sound of water calmly flowing could be heard clearly, and the waters were almost visible as they softly reflected the moon."What is that?"A surprised voice muttered behind the hero as its owner’s eyes suddenly and instantly fell upon a mysterious, silhouetted structure ris
