The Wick Family Mansion was one of the finest houses in Verin. The Wick were a middle-class family who enjoyed the wealth passed down to them.
The family head, Kelvin Wick, was trying to ensure that nothing would ruin his family image, and his daughter Ellara fit that category, with the grandfather’s help he wanted to make sure that Ellara would “I don't know how on earth she is part of this family. She shouldn't be allowed to be anywhere close to this house after we find a horrible loser to take her from our hands.” Beatrice Wick scoffed. She was in the living room waiting for someone to walk in and tell them that they would want to marry Ellara. They were waiting for the results from the test they were holding. “Mother, I think that she should be thrown out, or maybe we can make her one of the maids if we are not able to find someone to take her deformed self out of this house,” Aria said in a mocking voice. She was the pampered princess of the Wick household. All the Family members in the Wick household were in attendance that day. They were waiting to hear the grandfather's decision; he was going to select a groom for his granddaughter from the fifteen men who stood in front of them. Standing there on the huge balcony of the Wick Family stood the fifteen men who had reached the family’s evaluation. They were men of all ages, shapes, and sizes. None of them there had any impressive background, well all except Alan. He had come in unnoticed because he made sure that no one in Verin would know who he was. But he was there to make sure that Ellara didn't fall into the wrong hands, he waited for their decision. He knew that without Ellara, he would have died and he would never have become the Masked General. He owed her a lot. An old man walked out beside him was a man who looked like he was in his early forties, they were Ellara’s grandfather and Father. They stopped in front of the fifteen men, they were going to do something to see if any of them would pass the last test and make sure that they were going to be the one for Ellara. “Now, for the last test. We would want to see if you would indeed want to marry her and not for what we are going to be giving you.” Ben Wick said while looking at the men, he was not going to be cruel enough to give his granddaughter to someone who would not love her. He stretched his hand, signaling for someone to come. The men looked up to see a woman dressed in a white veil coming out of the other side. She walked to the old man and stood by his side. Ben turned to her, walked over, and opened her veil revealing her disfigured face. Immediately fourteen of the men showed disgust, all except Alan who couldn't help but notice Ellara’s red eyes. ‘Is that what she looks like?” “I thought they said it was a minor injury?” “She looks like an ogre,” “If you know you can't bear looking at her face, please kindly leave,” Ben said, immediately they heard the words the men turned back and left. All of them left except Alan who stood in his place. The Wick were shocked to see there was someone who stood there not moving an inch. “You, what is your name?” Ben asked when he was looking at the man in front of him. “My name is Alan Wayne,” Alan gave him a straight answer, not trying to hide anything from him. “Well Alan you have seen her face, are you sure you would want to be with her?” Ben asked, looking at Alan to get his reply. “Yes,” Alan said without even hesitating, he was not going to give them the chance to ask him another question. Ben looked at the young man in front of him and shook his head. “She is yours then, you should know to love her since you decided to take her for your bride.” Ben turned and left Ellara standing there, his face showed that he was disappointed. “This has to be an embarrassment, all the other families have their firstborn daughter married off to a prestigious family. Ours has to be the only family marrying off their daughter to a common man from the streets!” Beatrice sounded more disappointed. “Father, I have to go handle things at the company, I can't stand to watch this eyesore,” Marcus was looking at Ellara and he couldn't even look at his daughter properly. None of the family members were going to look at Ellara like she was worth anything to them. Ellara couldn't do anything but stand there in shame, her own family had sold her to a man so they would be able to take her hideous face out of the family. ‘So that does it? I have been sold out of this place,’ Ellara thought to herself when she saw a hand stretched out in front of her. Ellara looked up to see Alan looking at her with a smile on his face. “Give me your hand, I make sure that there is no way anyone would hurt you ever again,” Alan said looking at Ellara. She was a bit confused as to why the man in front of her was trying to put up an act, it was a bit confusing to her and she was trying to understand what he was trying to do. She could only look at him and wonder what was going on in his mind. She took the hands of the man in front of her and immediately she felt his warm welcoming touch. Ellara looked at Alan, all she could see was a smile on his face. “Come on, I will not let anyone harm you again.”Latest Chapter
Chapter 9
Alan was waiting for the bidding price on the necklace, he didn't pay attention to the others cause he couldn't care less about them. "I take it that's why you're here? You want to take that Amulet?" Susan was looking at Alan and she could see that he was seriously looking at the stage with much concentration. Alan let out a cool sigh, he had a happy look on his face and it was clear as day that he was going to be happy to make sure that there was nothing going to keep him from taking it. "That amulet belonged to our family and it was taken from us wrongly, not only that there are more of the Wayne family heirlooms they are not even putting out on display but then they are planning to sell it, and they would give it to the highest bidder." Alan was not sounding happy when he was trying to tell Susan why the Amulet was important. "So you're telling me that those bozos have something to do with your family's death?" Susan had connected the dots, she knew that he wouldn't be thinkin

Alan was a bit shocked that the lady knew who he was and not just as Alan but as the Masked General.“I know this is a bit weird but I don't know who you are,” Alan was looking at the lady trying to see if he would get anything out of the whole encounter. The lady seemed a bit sad when he said those words. She didn't let that stop her from talking to him, “I knew that there was no way you would be able to recognise me like this but then I wanted to give it a try after I saw you talking to the Mason family driver like you didn't care,” Alan was looking at the lady, he then realised who she was, he smiled a bit when he did. “I never thought the Angel Of Death could wear a gown and look like an elegant lady,” Alan was looking at the stage, he was still smiling when he said it. “So now you recognise me, you are one hard head aren't you?” The lady was looking at Alan, she wasn't looking down anymore. “I heard you came down to Verin and I was curious as to why the legendary blade of ju

“Are you insane?” The driver was looking at Alan, he was not sure he had seen someone who would know it was them and even think of insulting them like that. “Do you know who I am carrying in this car here?!” The man was looking at Alan, he was expecting him to fall on the floor and plead for his forgiveness. Alan rolled his eyes, he was not happy in any way and he was also not going to say anything other than the fact he was not sorry for denting the car. “I don't care if it was the Emperor you are carrying in your shit truck there, I would give you one advice and that would be to learn how to drive.” Alan was about to turn and walk away. “You bastard, you better stop right there!” The man yelled, it seemed like he was not going to let Alan walk out on him like that. “You just dented Lord Nixon’s car! He is affiliated with the Nixon heir and you dare do something like that and think you are going to walk out without paying for it?!” The driver was persistent and he was not going

Alan walked out of the house, his Mclaren was ready for him to hop into it so they would be heading to the venues he was meant to be at.‘I got a message saying that there is someone in Verin that would hand me my weapons but then I don’t think I would need them.’ Alan muttered to himself, he was not going to be saying anything other than the fact that he was going to look for something that would help him blend in. The auction was in a few hours and he needed to appear there as one of the oddest looking men so they wouldn’t think much of him. “So I really need to carry weapons with me?” Alan asked himself as he entered the car, Ben was seated there he was going to help Alan get to the auction with no problems. “Sir, I also got Intel that the people who are trying to sell the heirloom have connections to the remaining four heirlooms,” Ben gave Alan the run through of what he was going to be expecting. Alan sat in the car, he was sure that there was going to be an opening where he

Alan didn't want to let Ellara hear who he was or even get the idea that he was someone of that kind of power before it was time for him to reveal it to her. “So what did you find Ben?” Alan said as soon they were out of the room, he was looking at the man who came to give him the message. “We found one of the five Wayne family heirlooms that was taken on the day the enemy took out your family, they are trying to sell it at an auction,” Ben was looking at Alan, he could see that there were signs of him being angry. Alan was still shocked that they were thinking of selling his family heirloom in an auction and it was clear they had concluded that there was no one left in the family that would come back to take it back. “So they really think they erased all of the Waynes like that? This is something I can work with.” Alan was muttering to himself when he got the news. He turned to Ben, “So can you get me the information about this auction and where it is holding and the names of th

Alan guided Ellara to the bed in the room, he was trying to do something to her but then he wasn't trying to tell Ellara anything but to keep it to himself and make sure that nothing was going to make her scared. Alan brought out needles and pierced Ellara’s body, he placed it in meridian points in her body trying to make sure that she was going to be relaxed. Ellara was confused, she was covered with burns but then she didn't know why the man in front of her didn't even care then was trying to make sure that he would help her out in a weird way. “Now Ellara I want you to make sure that you will relax your body and make sure that nothing is going to make you reject this treatment.” Alan was looking at Ellara, he was about to begin the main treatment. Ellara was looking at him but then, she was not sure what he had in mind but he knew that it was something a bit off, but for some reason the man in front of her was not like any other man he looked like someone who needed to be t
