Cristian thought he was hearing things. Did Fenrir, the wolf summon who had been by his side for many years, say it was actually the Fenrir of the apocalypse? No, he had to be hearing things. It was impossible. That Fenrir was just a myth that had been passed down for generations. There had never been real proof that the wolf existed.
[What insolence. I’m right here.]
“You really want me to believe that you’re the great beast of the end? Do you know how ridiculous it sounds?” Cristian said as he stared into the wolf’s eyes.
[Who else could send you back in time to live life again? Tell me. What other beast has that kind of power?]
He opened his mouth to answer, but no words escaped his lips because Fenrir was right. If not the beast of legends, what beast could have the power to give Cristian a second chance?
Even so, it was hard to believe that he of all people could summon such a legendary beast. People throughout history have summoned all manner of beasts, from sea serpents to dragons. However, Fenrir was in a completely different class of its own. Despite having never been summoned before, there were all kinds of stories about the legendary wolf. Very few beasts could compare to him, and they have also never been summoned.
Fenrir suddenly pressed a paw to his forehead, distracting him from his thoughts. The wolf gave what it probably thought was a ferocious glare, which only looked like a cute grumpy expression.
[Don’t look down on yourself. You managed to summon me, which proves you are a class above the other humans. If you can’t see any of your good qualities, what does that make me?]
The wolf was right. Even if he had doubts, the fact that Fenrir was there meant he had the qualifications to be the wolf’s partner.
“I still can’t believe you’re the real Fenrir. What were the chances I named you correctly?” Cristian said, thinking about the day he named Fenrir.
Truthfully, he only named the wolf Fenrir because he wanted to prove himself to everyone who looked down on him. With such a powerful name, he had hoped to show that they were wrong about Fenrir being a weak summon. Ironically, it turned out that Fenrir was possibly the most powerful summon in history.
[I admit I would have been furious if you dared to name me Snowy or Furball.]
“Yeah, there’s no way I would name anything like that,” he said.
[In any case, what are your plans now?]
Cristian grimaced at the reminder. “I’ve been officially kicked out of the house, so I only have what’s on me.”
Even then, it was actually less than that. By now, his family must have cut him off from everything like the phone plan, bank accounts, and several other things. He literally had no money to his name or anything of monetary worth. If he wanted to prepare and survive the apocalypse, he would need to find a way to make money fast. Unfortunately, there were only shady options, and even those were limited. His reputation for summoning a useless beast would have spread by now.
Fenrir growled, and he quickly placated the wolf. “I know you’re not useless, but no one else knows, and we’re keeping it that way.”
[I’m surprised you didn’t try to leverage the fact that I’m Fenrir.]
“I’m not dumb. Maybe if it was my past self, I would have done that, but it would only do me more harm than good,” he said.
In the past, it would have been slightly easier to say the wolf was Fenrir given his appearance. Everyone knew the Fenrir from the myth was a giant white wolf, but Fenrir hadn’t shown any abilities that made him different from an ordinary wolf. Besides, no one would automatically think the wolf was really Fenrir. Now that Fenrir was stuck as a small wolf, no one would believe the claim. They would think he was crazy. Even if someone did, they would take advantage of the fact that Fenrir had been weakened. It just wasn’t worth it to tell anyone. At least not at the moment.
[You have a point. The other humans would most likely want to kill you when they realize the apocalypse will start in a week because of me.]
He froze. “Excuse me?”
Fenrir stared innocently at him like it hadn’t just dropped critical information. What did the wolf mean the apocalypse was starting because of it?
Trying to keep his voice calm, Cristian said, “Fenrir, please explain.”
[Have you forgotten I’m the great beast of the end? My existence basically means the coming of the apocalypse. My arrival here is the reason why the apocalypse is starting in a week.]
Cristian stared at Fenrir for several moments before he couldn’t take it anymore and placed the wolf down on the ground. Then he proceeded to pace back and forth while rubbing his hands against his cheeks.
“This can’t be happening. This can’t be happening. I can’t be the reason the apocalypse is happening,” he muttered to himself.
However, no matter how hard he tried to deceive himself, the apocalypse was undoubtedly his fault. If he hadn’t summoned Fenrir, the apocalypse would never happen. He literally caused the end of the world.
[I think you’re giving yourself too much credit. While it’s true that the apocalypse is starting early because you summoned me, it would have happened eventually. A couple years down the line, the apocalypse would have started anyway.]
He wasn’t sure if he was supposed to feel better after hearing that and decided that it was best he didn’t think about it at all. In fact, he was going to pretend he didn’t hear any of it and act like the apocalypse had nothing to do with him.
Bending down in front of Fenrir, he said, “I know you said that you have become weakened after sending me into the past, but is there anything you can do to help me now?”

Chapter 15: The Sellers Family (6)
Katie cursed, digging through her closet to find any old devices she might still have. Clothes were haphazardly tossed aside as she frantically searched for a phone or a laptop. Anything that would allow her to contact the outside world. She couldn’t believe her mother would confiscate her phone and other devices to keep her from contacting anyone. Hadn’t she seen how much of a monster Cristian was? There was no way he was going to let them live once he got everything he wanted from them. They had to call for help before it was too late.As she shoved a box aside, she heard something fall out and make a thud sound. A quick look revealed it was an old phone, and she snatched it up triumphantly. Her relief soon turned to dismay when she realized it wouldn’t turn on no matter what she pressed. The battery must have died after being left unused for so long in her closet. She had to find the charger for it.“Damn it,” she muttered to herself, searching through the box it fell out of.After

Katie’s knees finally gave out, and she collapsed to the ground. A horrible smell filled the air, and Cristian stepped back to avoid the puddle forming underneath her.“Katie!” Mrs. Sellers rushed forward to her daughter’s side, acting as a shield to protect her daughter. However, he was no longer paying any attention to them. His eyes were drawn to the blue text box that had appeared out of the corner of his vision.[The user has obtained a new ability and can exert an overwhelming presence that can paralyze those weaker than the user.]Cristian stared at the blue text incredulously before looking at Fenrir. The wolf didn’t bat an eye and even yawned at him. He raised an eyebrow and was tempted to ask right then and there if this meant he now had aura. Just thinking about it made him huff in amusement before turning his attention back to the cowering women.Given Katie’s reaction and the text box’s appearance, he had somehow used the power on her. However, it didn’t sound that great
Chapter 13: The Sellers Family (4)
The two women stared anxiously at Cristian, fearing what he intended to do with them. He combed a hand through his hair, berating himself for being softhearted.Cristian had intended only to grab Mrs. Sellers while keeping Mr. Sellers and Katie as hostages. It was the most reasonable option. He needed an adult to get the money, and Mr. Seller hadn’t been a choice from the beginning, as Cristian expected the man to try to save only his own skin. The man would likely choose to abandon his wife and child if it benefited him, but Cristian never expected him to be so ruthless, trying to kill them while trapped in the dimensional space.Just thinking about it enraged him, and Cristian placed Fenrir down as he stood up to kick the couch he had been sitting on. The women screamed and huddled close, refusing to look him in the face.“Stop that. I won’t hit you as long as you don’t try anything funny,” he said, sitting back down onto the armrest of the couch to avoid sitting on Fenrir.“Why sho

Katie sniffled, still feeling the burning sting of her father’s slap on her cheek. She couldn’t believe her father had slapped her. He had never raised a hand against her before. She had always been the apple of his eye, yet he had dared to slap her after she told him everything. If it weren’t for her mother, she was sure that her father would have hit her again.Just thinking about the reason for her father’s anger made her grit her teeth in frustration. The hand not touching her cheek curled into a fist as she imagined strangling Cristian with her bare hands. She was going to make him pay for this humiliation. He was going to regret ever crossing her and her family. Once they got out of this place, she was going to summon her beast like she should have from the start and let it tear him apart. Then she’ll turn that small wolf at his side into a new rug for her mother.“Well, isn’t this an interesting sight. It seems there’s a bit of family trouble going on here.” Cristian’s voice ec
Chapter 11: The Sellers Family (2)
Cristian ducked behind the nearby couch while Fenrir hid under a table to avoid the peacock’s ice attack. The icicles skewered the spot they had been standing before, tearing up the rug. He stared at the collection of large icicles the size of his arm before peeking around the corner of the couch. Mrs. Sellers and Katie appeared behind the peacock with dark expressions.“My rug!” Mrs. Sellers wailed, cupping her cheeks with her hands.“Where’s dad?” Katie asked, scanning the room.He narrowed his eyes as he prepared to pull them into the dimensional space. That’s when a floating blue text box appeared in his vision.[The targets are not within range. Please move closer to the target.]Cristian nearly cursed aloud as he glared daggers at the text. Why was there suddenly a distance restriction? How close did he need to be in order to pull them into the dimensional space?[Targets need to be within three feet of the user in order to be placed in the dimensional space.]Three feet was pre
Chapter 10: The Sellers Family (1)
“We’re here,” Katie said as they stood in front of the driveway to her home.Cristian took a moment to study the place. It was an impressive house with three stories and two fancy cars parked in the driveway. He was certain that the backyard was just as impressive, but it didn’t matter much in the end. What he was after was the money, not the property. Even if he somehow got his hands on the deed, there was no way he could sell it before the apocalypse started.“Before we go in, I want to make something clear,” he said, resting a hand on her shoulder. She shuddered before tentatively asking, “What?”“You are not to let them know about what happened between us. If I see any hint that you might sell me out…” he trailed off, letting her fill in the blank.Katie gritted her teeth and said, “I understand.”“Good. Now ladies first,” he said, indicating for her to go first. She glared at him before walking down the driveway to the front door. Katie rang the doorbell, and the door swung open.
