The lab went quiet as Gandu left for the basement, returning moments later with a map in his grip. He placed it on the centre of the table, all eyes pinned on what he presented.

"See. This is deep into the continent. Known by the inner indigenes there." He spoke, pointing at the highlighted spot on the map.…"Eldahor."

"I think I've heard of that place once. My parents once left for a pilgrimage when I was younger but I had no idea about the place, only the name." Meena spoke.

"Good." He nodded, then faced David.

"We need to get Solomon's mat or carpet or whatever the fuck they call it. We get it, dissect or tear it into bits and pieces then merge those parts with the gears I've been working on." He stated. David nodded, he understood his mission. The rest wondered why he faced David alone and not them, then he dropped his reason.

"David you'll have to go alone. We don't know how much longer the Void will take to attack us again or his dark army (if he still has more). So to save t

"Now I see it. David, I'm coming." She spoke in a resolute tone. She walked briskly to her room's door, taking one last look behind her at the bed, suspecting there was something mysterious there. Confirming there wasn't, she proceeded, leaving the room. Unknown to her, Colleen had just left her room, hearing the hurried footsteps she emitted. Both women headed in their room's direction had their attention elsewhere and they collided. Audrey, the stronger one due to her armour immediately grabbed Colleen."Are you okay?" She asked."Yes. I was worried about you. I literally heard your footsteps." The former responded. "Yes, that." She paused, taking a deep breath. "Why are you in your armour?" Colleen asked before she could reply. "David. I think he's in trouble. He needs us." She spoke. "David? I told you he's fine. He's on a mission and he'll be back soon." "Why do you keep saying this like it's systematically ingrained in you? David is in trouble and needs our help, Colleen

  • Now I see it.

"Bring it on. I'm still keeping my promise. I'll win, and I'll fucking kill you." The system chuckled, a wave of sparkling codes flowing through them. They snapped, and the earth rumbled, creating an effect akin to an earthquake. David felt the floor split beneath his feet, and rose immediately to avoid falling into the trench beneath. He gawked as the floor of the arena turned inside out, crisp rocks and dust grinding against each other like the inside hears of machines, turning clockwise and anticlockwise against one another. A pool of lava seeped forth, rising higher than he could comprehend. He floated further above, avoiding the heat wave coming for him. He stopped, watching at the Lava spread to the arena, then suddenly stopped burning, and had become rock, cold, hard molten rock.A new rocky terrain was born, one with cliffs, boulders and trenches. All lined with sharp rocks that could stone and stab him if care wasn't taken. Taking a deep breath, he descended, his boots

  • You're just as bad as them

"Now you beautiful Codes. Let's cheer our champion as he awaits his next challenger." The system announced, then lowered themself towards David."Oh David, it's just about to get hard, very fucking hard." They whispered. "I've never backed down from a challenge, why do you think this will be different?" He asked with a smirk. "The confidence. Save it for when you are out of moves." They quipped back, then teleported to their high platform. He stood, awaiting his next opponent with his sword held tightly in his grip. Suddenly, the ground stirred. He tumbled, feeling the asphalt grinding against him. He quickly levitated, watching as the battle arena shifted from a smooth, asphalt road to the rocky terrains of a mountain. In that moment, he frowned. An opponent so familiar loomed. One of his earliest adversaries. A stream of rune symbols burst forth, spraying around the arena, littering the air with light blue sparks, complemented with the dark fog that followed suit. Having fough

After what seemed like moments of waiting, they stepped forward, stripping themselves of their cloak. David's eyes widened with shock. He was seeing the unexpected… a ghost. He almost dropped his sword in surprise and eased his battle stance. "Y…you. How the fuck are you alive?" He questioned, his face suddenly reddening with anger. The figure's rugged breath slowed down and they coughed, crackling their knuckles slowly. "You don't get to act silent around me." David spoke again, the rising anger in his voice was evident. Finally, they spoke, "David Hart. It has been a while.""Yeah, no shit Syrus. The last time as I recalled, I killed you. Why am I even asking these stupid questions. Obviously you were fucking resurrected by the system." He groaned. "I have waited for so long… David, although that moment of wait was merely a flash in time for me." Syrus responded. "You should have stayed Dead… Syrus." He warned, holding his sword tightly. "Well, I am dead…boy. What more can y

  • Level 50: The Rumble

"What's the deal? I'm all ears." "Good one, boy. Now we're talking business. Real business." The system replied, having an excited look. David rose in the air, his breath echoing through the cosmic bubble. The system waved, warning him, "David. Don't think about doing anything stupid. My fondness for you can become wrath in a flash." They yelled. He cowered slightly, holding his arms in the air, indicating his understanding of the situation."You're the boss." He said, then dropped his arms. "Good, now get down." They instructed, and he complied. "So, what's the deal?" He questioned, tired by the suspense he was kept in. The system chuckled, pacing away from David to the end of the bubble. The darkness surrounding it cleared, revealing Ladus in the state it was hours ago. Beautiful, flourishing and safe. David saw Colleen and Audrey discuss while on their way home. The latter seemed undisturbed by anything, and it didn't seem like she had just woken up from a month long coma. H
