"Now I see it. David, I'm coming." She spoke in a resolute tone.

She walked briskly to her room's door, taking one last look behind her at the bed, suspecting there was something mysterious there. Confirming there wasn't, she proceeded, leaving the room.

Unknown to her, Colleen had just left her room, hearing the hurried footsteps she emitted.

Both women headed in their room's direction had their attention elsewhere and they collided. Audrey, the stronger one due to her armour immediately grabbed Colleen.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"Yes. I was worried about you. I literally heard your footsteps." The former responded.

"Yes, that." She paused, taking a deep breath.

"Why are you in your armour?" Colleen asked before she could reply.

"David. I think he's in trouble. He needs us." She spoke.

"David? I told you he's fine. He's on a mission and he'll be back soon."

"Why do you keep saying this like it's systematically ingrained in you? David is in trouble and needs our help, Colleen

  • Did I just rewrite reality?

Audrey's eyes fluttered open once more, meeting the sight of Nuran whose words to her were incoherent. Her head tingled, causing her to groan slightly. The effects of her previously concluded digital image projection to David still hurting her. "I'm fine." She managed to say, holding Nuran off from shaking her anymore. The latter hugged her tightly, asking, "Are you sure?" "I'm fine. Honestly it was just a minor thing." She responded. Sonia looked a bit concerned, but Malik was there, acting as Nonchalant as he could get. She chuckled inwardly. Who was he fooling? She got up, her vision revealing the codes around her. She shut her eyelids then opened them, the visions were gone. She wondered if she could just turn the vision on and off, then thought about seeing things as code. To her surprise, it worked. "Are you sure you're alright?" Malik asked. "Way better than I think I should be." She smiled, then turned back in the direction of the Kingdom. "Yes, we shall waste no more ti

  • The hack we never knew we had

The hum of the private jet dulled as the wheels skidded across the tarmac. The steps rolled up and the door swung open. Brett Hart stepped down, wearing a dark coat with one hand shielding his face from the grey drizzle. London always had a way of greeting you with cold shoulders. He descended quietly, like someone used to slipping in and out of places unnoticed. His face, still sharp as ever, didn't carry much emotion, but his eyes were tired. Purposeful.Customs was fast. He had connections. So the entire process of checking our luggage was an easy task for him. Outside, the black car was waiting, engine already on. He tossed his bag into the passenger seat and slid in, shutting the door with a muted thud.By the time the city started to sprawl out around him, the words replayed."Get the fuck out of here."Scar sent him away. A sign he had rejected the offer. He tightened his grip on the wheel, jaw clenching. It wasn’t just the rejection. It was the fact that he’d gambled everythi

  • A Fresh retelling.

New York never truly slept. It just blinked slowly at night, hiding its chaos behind flashing lights and distant sirens. The air smelled of smoke, old oil, grease and fast food. People moved like ghosts. Some in a rush, others just trying to stay warm. New York was an unusual place. A man moved through the crowd quickly, one hand deep in his coat pocket, the other gripping a black briefcase. He had the look of someone who didn’t want to be noticed, although his handsome features said otherwise. He had a clean shave and trimmed hair to an almost low cut, complimenting his face that looked between his late forties and early fifties. He also had a black tuxedo beneath The coat, generating additional heat for him. Nonetheless, he proceeded, casting occasional glances behind him. He had done this before, roughly twenty years ago before he became a tech mogul. This reminded him of that dark past he always left behind. However, he has to do reconcile with the past now. Else his future, his

  • This is wrong

The silence in the residence was dominant. It had been a day since David was rescued by Audrey from the pocket dimension the system created and he just sat still, resting in his bed. Courtesy of his request, Audrey had gone to Aterista alongside Colleen, leaving him all to himself. He stared at the ceiling, his mind flooded with constant thoughts about the game. Since he killed Conrad in the pocket dimension, he had just one interaction with the system. “[Level 60 — B Rank Achieved.]" The notification had appeared in his vision hours ago. He hadn’t bothered to click it. Added to that were treasure boxes and new abilities he didn't bother clicking. He scoffed at the thought, realising the system may have stood by their word. No tricks, no cosmic imbalance tilting his life out of proportion. Just still, calm silence which he deserved. He took a deep sigh, digging back into the possibilities for the future. He wondered if he would ever really complete the game? Yes, the system ma

  • Now I see it.

"Bring it on. I'm still keeping my promise. I'll win, and I'll fucking kill you." The system chuckled, a wave of sparkling codes flowing through them. They snapped, and the earth rumbled, creating an effect akin to an earthquake. David felt the floor split beneath his feet, and rose immediately to avoid falling into the trench beneath. He gawked as the floor of the arena turned inside out, crisp rocks and dust grinding against each other like the inside hears of machines, turning clockwise and anticlockwise against one another. A pool of lava seeped forth, rising higher than he could comprehend. He floated further above, avoiding the heat wave coming for him. He stopped, watching at the Lava spread to the arena, then suddenly stopped burning, and had become rock, cold, hard molten rock.A new rocky terrain was born, one with cliffs, boulders and trenches. All lined with sharp rocks that could stone and stab him if care wasn't taken. Taking a deep breath, he descended, his boots
