Chapter 57: Final Part 2

Lucas felt the world closing in around him as the Iron Blood patriarch's grip tightened around his throat. His vision began to blur and darken, and he could feel the life being squeezed out of him.

Suddenly, a holographic display flickered to life in front of Lucas's eyes. The words "[Random Luck Activated]" flashed across the screen, and Lucas felt a surge of hope.

The Iron Blood patriarch's grip loosened slightly as he let out a cry of pain. He clutched at his chest, his eyes wide with shock and fear. Lucas could see the veins bulging in the man's neck and forehead, and his skin began to blister and blacken.

The Iron Blood troops around them began to panic, shouting and scrambling to get away from their leader. The patriarch stumbled backwards, his eyes locked on Lucas with a mixture of fear and hatred.

"Retreat!" he bellowed, his voice barely above a whisper. "Retreat now!"
