After a while, Ludwig brought Lyra back home. There, he could see that she was still full of fear and pain.

Every time he saw Lyra's face contorted in pain, Ludwig felt truly furious. He couldn't believe the Winter family could do such a terrible thing to their daughter. They hadn't even considered this before. But he was glad he had finally saved Lyra from that curse.

Ludwig laid Lyra on the bed. He could see her bruised hands and legs. He even noticed a cut at the corner of her lip. He was sure the man had slapped her.

As Ludwig laid her on the bed, Lyra bit her lower lip to endure the pain.

"Hang in there," Ludwig said softly. "I'll treat your wounds."
