Martha appeared beside Aethan in a flash of light, her skin glowing resplendently like a human-shaped rainbow. She stared at Aethan's wrinkled brows with a smile, then waved her arms.
A sphere of light conjured between her hands swiftly, before rolling over Aethan's body and destroying the black matter oozing out of his pores. A black cloud billowed upwards, a relaxed smile appeared on Aethan's face right after, and his eyes fluttered open. He had successfully broken through, and become a First-Circle Sorcerer! A Crimson Core had formed within his lower belly, rotating slowly on its axis as it naturally pulled Aether as he cultivated. When he broke out of his cultivation though, the Core stopped rotating. The Crimson Core was both corporeal and intangible at the same time. It floated in a space that seemingly contained it, yet looked to be too large at the same time. Aethan didn't mind this too much though. He couldn't understand why it was that way, so he saved his brain power for something else. “I can think faster…” Aethan mumbled, clenching and unclenching his fists. "And I'm stronger too." He raised his gaze to his mother's, and her smile widened. She moved closer to him and patted his head, rubbing off a few specs of tiny dust particles that had settled on it. “Congratulations, Aethan Narok, your journey has begun,” Martha said. Aethan's brows wrinkled for a second, before he shook his head and stood to his feet. Then, he said: "You and father sometimes confuse me with your words,” he uttered with a dry smile on his face. Martha chuckled softly. Aethan shifted forward and stretched his limbs. “I'll get going now, me and Father are going hunting,” Aethan said and began running in a direction, reveling in his new speed. "Thanks for the quick bath by the way!” He added loudly some seconds later, disappearing into the distance. Martha turned back and walked into the Manor while humming a tune, resuming her stitching in silence. Their manor was situated in a secluded area, though not so secluded as one might think. They had neighbors, but since the houses were sparse and dotted all around chaotically, it was hard to come across a neighbor without actively seeking them. Aethan and Darion were on their way to a nearby Forest to hunt. They did this daily, letting Aethan accumulate more vitality and energy in his body, thus making it stronger and more mature. He looked more mature than his age, almost like a 19-year-old, when he was barely 16. This wasn't only caused by the vitality flowing through his body, but also by the Aether. His father told him not to be concerned about that, because he would meet people his age who also looked more mature than their age suggested. He mentioned that there were only a rare few who didn't look much older than their age, but younger instead. His older brother Orien, for example, looked like an 18-year-old, when in actuality he was a 21-year-old man. This was weird in Aethan's purview, but he accepted the information gladly. One of the other reasons they hunted daily was so Aethan could gain an Element in time, and start training with it. According to his father, the Eclipse Sect wasn't a place for those with weak talents—or weakness as a whole. Strength determined if you would survive in there, and proving you had strength before entry gave you a headstart. The Narok family didn't have a particular Element tied to them, so it wasn't a surprise when Merek had an affinity for Metal, their father, Earth, his mother, Light, and his other siblings, Water, Ice and Blue Wind. This family was considered above average, because it was very rare for every member of a family to have an affinity for Aether, and an Element. This not only made them stronger, it made them respected too, due to their known good deeds and services to the Kingdom. Merek was an Iron Captain, a high rank in the Order of the Black Lance—an Order whose sole purpose was to protect their Kingdom, Thalerion. He once in a while went on patrols with his unit, not just to show off or flaunt his status, like most powerful people did, but to actually safeguard the towns and villages he could. His younger brother Orien, was a 3-Star Mercenary, respected for his regular completion of missions, both mundane and magical. He was known by the locals for helping in completing mundane missions, therefore saving them the risk of sustaining injuries. In his Guild though, he was known as someone who mostly took Low Tier missions, which were also considered mundane, making him weak in the eyes of many. Regardless, he did it diligently, saving a lot of old and young people alike, from going on dangerous or perilous quests. Selene and Astrid were both married to Barons, living happily with their new families. They weren't really reputable outside their regular works as Baronesses, but they did well enough to gain the recognition of the people in their towns and multiple villages. Astrid was married to the Baron overseeing their Barony, while Selene was married to a Baron in a neighboring Barony. Their mother, Martha Narok, was a housewife, but she sometimes tended to the injured who came to her. As a Light Elemental Sorcerer, she was adept at healing and reinvigorating, so she helped when she could. Last, but not the least, the man of the house, Darion Narok. A 6-Star Mercenary, known as the Impregnable Shield. Known for his impenetrable defences and unyielding resolve, he had fought deadly abominations to protect the Town during a dungeon outbreak, and saved many lives in the process. This not only earned him more Stars in his Guild, it also made him the hero of the Town, and he was recognized by many. Though he could be a little too playful and unserious at times, he knew when to ignore all forms of distractions and get serious in important or desperate situations. A few minutes into Aethan's run, he met up with his father, and they took a trail leading towards the Forest. The Forest was controlled, so there weren't many beasts to hunt anyway. The fact that they had been going there on a daily basis for a long time only made the beasts more sparse. Darion walked ahead of Aethan, his sixth sense scanning the vicinity as he moved. “This would be one of your last hunts, so make the best of it,” Darion said, taking a sharp turn to the left. “I will, father," Aethan answered from behind. “What will I be hunting today by the way?" He asked curiously, his ears perking up. Darion didn't slow down in his steps, replying smoothly as if he was expecting the question. "Typhoon Horses," Darion said with a slight grin. "Fast, wild and a little too proud for their own good. Perfect for testing that new strength of yours."

Storm's Descent
“This just proves my thoughts,” Aethan mumbled after crossing a few meters, his feet tapping against the obsidian floor with astonishing speed. As he got closer to the throne, the oppressive feeling coming from the charred figure on it increased, and the frequency of the Thunderbolts multiplied, their deadliness becoming more apparent. Aethan was then forced to slow down and calculate his steps more often. He was still moving quickly though, and at that rate, he would reach his target shortly. Yet, that didn't prevent him from sustaining his first injury in this stage of the Dungeon. A particularly large thunderbolt struck the floor with dire force after Aethan weaved out of its way, albeit the branching arcs of electricity caught his ankle, sending a jolt through his body.Aethan spasmed. The paralyzing effect of the thunderbolt affected his next moves, and a second thunderbolt struck true, charring his flesh. Lichtenberg figures appeared on his skin immediately. Simultaneously,
Echoes of a Fallen God
Aethan got tunnel vision and a splitting headache as soon as the part of the Magic Circle responsible for teleportation activated. The headache stemmed not just from the movement through space, but also due to his mind still reeling from the sudden flood of information. His mind spun, and he almost emptied the contents of his stomach. But his body, pulsating with vitality, stopped him from doing just that. The teleportation didn't take long and ended just seconds later, with Aethan finding himself in a large hall. However, he barely had time to study the hall properly before his senses blared warning alarms in his head, and he rolled to the side, springing up to his feet in one fluid motion, his Aether surging violently.BOOM!Aethan's ears rang as a thick bolt of Lightning struck the spot he had been lying moments ago. The Lightning cracked the obsidian tiles easily, sending jagged fractures racing across it. It spread out like a net, striking anything and everything close enough
Inheritance of the Stormcallers
Aethan realised that he was wrong to call that affinity Wind. The real term was Gale, an affinity tied to an extinct race of Humanoid beings known as the Stormcallers. They once occupied this Realm’s Dungeon—living there, to be precise—before they were forced to leave after being attacked by an enemy race. “How do I know all this?" Aethan suddenly mumbled, feeling like the new knowledge he gained wasn't normal. Yes, he had received the memories of the Wraiths after absorbing their Essence, but they had just been born, and the only memories they possessed were of using Gale effectively in combat. The memories he had received from the two Wraiths contained what he was thinking of at the moment, but not enough to give him such an in-depth understanding of the Stormcallers. “So where did it come from?" Aethan mumbled. He studied his surroundings, searching for something—anything—that could help him solve the dilemma. He raised a brow when he caught sight of glowing spots on the groun
Gale
Aethan dealt with three Wraiths swiftly, but let the last two continue to attack him. He allowed them to adapt, giving them the chance to pose a challenge to him. His goal was quite simple; allow them to get strong enough, then use Blood Essence Extraction to extract the Essence within the glass-like pebble acting as their Cores. Aethan wasn't so sure it was going to work. Blood Essence Extraction was called that because it worked on beings with blood—at least that's what his father had said. But as the inheritor of the bloodline, he understood its intricacies better and more intricately than anyone else did. Blood Essence Extraction didn't only work on blood. It worked on anything having Aether and Life Force. That wasn't to say that he could extract Aether from anything using Blood Essence Extraction though.Instead, what it implied was that he could sense the Essence of a being rooted deeply within them and pull at it, th
Wind Wraiths
Aethan's gaze sharpened, his Aether churning vigorously. He retreated calmly, watching as wind began to rush out from the three holes and accumulate before him. In no time flat, three faceless, humanoid creatures formed and began attacking him. Aethan moved immediately, dodging awkward blows coming from the flying creatures. They lacked finesse and cooperation, attacking at every opportunity. Their movements were like that of newborns; decisive, yet stupid—most of the time. They didn't think twice before committing to an attack, not caring if it hindered them in the process. ‘Wraiths,’ Aethan thought, trying to grasp the intricacies of the creatures moving about. They were formed from the holes in the walls… or more likely, from something within the walls. The wind didn't come from within the wall, but had gathered when the wall opened up, affirming his thoughts of it being the work of an object. The object—whatever it was—was, perhaps, what had created the Wraiths and imbued
Dungeon
The wind howled furiously in Aethan's ears as Ignaroth covered large distances with little effort. The light tap of his feets against the ground—despite his large size—was drowned out by the beating of his heart, and harsh winds. Regardless, Aethan's grip on Merek didn't loosen one bit, and the soothing circulation of his Aether around his body calmed his nerves. Aethan's shock only grew when they came to a stop, and Merek claimed that the Infernal Lycan-wannabe wasn't even using a tenth of its speed. Aethan tried to imagine just how fast it was, then, at its top speed, but his mind failed to picture such a thing properly, and it just made him want to get a Totembeast all the more. “The Dungeon is just ahead. I'm sure you can sense it,” Merek claimed, pointing a finger at a warp in reality ahead of them. Aethan's gaze sharpened as his eyes landed on the distorted space in the distance. The feeling he got from the Dungeon gate reminded him of what it felt like to be in the presenc
